Inner fire priest is quite commond at very low ranks, for being both cheap AND fun to play. It's not really consistent until you can at least craft some shadow visions, but that's not really an issue when playing at those ranks anyway
Nice post. Sick of everyone in the Pro Deck List section complaining about no budget decks. Thanks for appeasing the F2P players :)
Pala: Budget Handbuff Agro (20-10) 60-70% WR
20-10 is a 50% wr lol
it means from rank 20 to 10 with 60-70% win rate ;)
math be hard >.< LOL
well, at least i had a brief chuckle at Pirate Warrior.
Good post.
Pirate Warrior is very cheap ! The only thing you need is find a demon and give him your soul !
I just wish there were a budget suggestion for each of the nine classes, that would be better for new players..
Tfw you don't have all the cards to build a budget Handbuffadin, but have all the cards to build the less budgety one.
Would be cool if someone would invest the time to make a budget deck for each Death Knight card. That way budget players could build around the one Death Knight card they got for free from the prologue!
This is currently in the works. LOKShadow actually sent me an elcheapo Warlock DK deck you should check out. Bonus points if you actually have Gul'dangerous!

I think you should have featured a budget Hunter. The standard midrange package is very strong and can often win games by turn 7-8.
If you take out the DeathKnight, Curator, and Primordial Drakes, the remainder of this deck is very budget friendly. I'd probably add in 2 Unleash the Hounds, a Hunter's Mark, and a Deadly shot to complete the budget friendly version.
So, the few people that went through and downvoted all the decks because you don't agree with "cancer" or whatever you want to call it, you can expect warnings which will lead to potential bans in the future if you're going to do that.
If this isn't your cup of tea, that's fine and all, just don't be a dick about it!
Have you considered changing the voting thing to not allow for downvotes, only upvotes?
Downvotes are so rarely justified anyways, mostly they are given just because of personal preferences and upvotes are way more interesting both for the deck owner and the ones looking for a deck.
If you wanna go a bit further with it you could make it not just an upvote, but also make users select what they like about the deck (Fun, Strong, Cheap, Interesting etc.).
Then instead of just having an upvotes counter you could have like a chart similar to the mana cost overview showing what ppl actually think about the deck and why they felt like giving it an upvote.
It's a bit of a messy subject with pros and cons on both sides. I do like the concept of people being able to rate decks in different ways though since it could give everyone a better idea of why they may want to play different decks. Doing something like that gives you a score metric which could be used to sort stuff. The downside could be though less engagement from users due to having more buttons to press, and the interface would need some serious considerations made!
The current system works pretty well though. It's just a few rotten apples that cause us hell. I have no problems though investigating malicious downvoters, removing their votes, and penalizing their accounts. If anyone thinks they've been targeted with negative votes by specific people, feel free to holler at me via PM and I can look into it if you pass along deck links.
I don't think it would make for less engagement, rather the opposite.
I understand the thought that it's so easy to vote now so maybe more users will do it, but since it's so easy it also feels a bit meaningless and users may be conflicted in whether they want to actually upvote a deck or not because maybe they think it looks like a fun deck, but don't expect it to be very strong and see the upvote thing as a measure of deck strength.
Or as in the case with budget decks, that it looks like a cheap deck which would be strong enough for players with a small collection, but it's not really as strong as it could be and/or doesn't really look very fun or interesting.
Giving users a way to justify/explain their upvote by selecting an option in a simple drop down menu when they click to upvote a deck I think would not only increase the amount of users who would upvote, but also as you say give a great new metric to use when searching for decks.
The issue I see with it is ofc the work of implementing the feature, idk much about coding, but I guess it would take quite some work to make it possible not only on the main deck page, but also directly on decks embedded within posts.
What I don't appreciate about most budget decks is that they're just worse versions of existing deck archetypes rather than being anything novel.
Granted anything novel usually involves a few epics and at least 1 legendary.
With such limited options it's almost impossible to create something unique for a budget player that is good at the same time. The 2 are literally mutually exclusive. Most intresting/control/value cards that have unique effects are epics and legendaries, something budget players just can't afford. Not even mentioning the fact that control decks are generally more difficult to pilot well for newer players.
If you want to do reasonably well as a budget/newer player you are pretty much forced to build a cheap midrange/aggro deck.
Pls new players! Dont play PW! Its boring af. Use something else.
Pls new players! Dont play PW without Patches! Its bad af. Craft him immediately!
