Upcoming Adventure Theme Leaked?
Thanks to Chinese gaming media, we've got an idea of which adventure we're going to be seeing next from the Hearthstone team. It was revealed that the next theme will be a World of Warcraft raid that contains 3 Chinese characters.
This comes to us from a post on Tieba, the author previously leaked the Morgl hero before he was released so this has some weight to it.
Thanks to /u/czhihong on reddit for compiling a correct list of raids that are 3 Chinese characters in length. They are:
- 卡拉赞 Karazhan
- 奥杜尔 Ulduar
- 永春台 Terrace of Endless Spring
- 悬槌堡 Highmaul
It should be noted though that both Highmaul and Terrace of Endless Spring have very few bosses within them (7 and 4 respectively) and don't make very good candidates for an adventure unless they pull another Blackrock Mountain where they use a collection of entities in an area.
So that leaves both Karazhan and Ulduar, which are two raids which people always fall back on as being the best of experiences. They also have 11 and 14 bosses respectively which is the perfect amount for a 4 or 5 wing adventure.
They could give us Sara for the Ulduar encounter!
I do think if Karazhan is the theme though, there's a few ways chess and opera could go.
Opera could easily be a wing in itself where each of the three stories get their own boss. This makes Kara an easy 4 (possibly 5 if they really want to make the last 2 shorter) wing adventure and lets the first wing consist of Attumen, Moroes, and Maiden.
Or Opera is a single fight within a wing and it had 3 stages to it. That could feel bad though with you either not getting a good enough taste of each event within the fight, or the fight is too long and losing near the end would feel crappy.
Or they just make it random each time you load up the fight which gives it "replayability" Kappa.
Now Chess, that's a fun one. Your hero could be the King, you'd get a queen on the field, a few pawns, a knight, a rook, and bishop - all Hearthstone themed of course. Their attack patterns would be custom to that of either a real game of chess or how it was done in Kara itself. You could have a hero power that gives you more pawns or lets you move one character per turn.
I'm really hoping for Kara, but i would also greatly appreciate Ulduar. Mimiron Heroic could be EPIC.
and we got Majordomo Executus...
what if we got a card that replaced our hero with Yogg-Saron?

I think that Ulduar fits the old god theme best!!
China, China, China! I love China! I have to have my China!
Which one is the most krakenish?
Karazhan is my favorite instance,Ulduar comes second. Can't wait to play them as HS adventures.
Ulduar would be amazing
I wouldn't mind Kara being the next adventure, but it could also be Ulduar. If people are going to keep going off of the Old Gods connection, then Ulduar would make sense, since that's where we fought Yogg
Terrance of the Endless Spring seems likely. With the reference to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in the Old Gods travel pamphlets and the fact that they mysteriously changed the card back for this month which was going to be a Halfhill card back, another location in Pandaria. It seems likely, though I wouldn't be surprised if Karazan was it, which I wouldn't mind I love both of the raids.
I just hope that it doesn't take long time before they release it
Ulduar seems too similar to LOE for me.
Hoping its Karazhan since its probably my favorite raid, with great flavor.
Can't wait for a new adventure. LoE was really great. They are definitely moving in the right direction with adventures. Bring it on!
Highmaul wasn't that bad. The imperator fight was sick. Solid opening raid for the expansion but yeah when compared to some of the other stuff out there... it loses cool points.
If they were going to do Highmaul, I'd imagine they'd instead do some kind of Ogre clans adventure where each wing is a different clan of ogres.
I couldn't imagine the RNG hell of that card set though.. pls no.
It is the year of the Kraken . . .
I remember Ben Brode saying one time that he would like to see Karazhan as an adventure and that they had already talked about it. So I bet my money on Karazhan. :)
I'd be definitely excited for any of those, but I'm leaning towards Ulduar being the next, since it's so heavily Old Gods related. Very cool tease and I'm excited for what's to come!
