Beta Streamer Tournament Review
Note: We didn't organize this Tournament. Most of the people who originally helped organize it bailed last minute, so we stepped in to help less than 12 hours before the event started. We know there were mistakes made and we do not plan to do another event on this scale unless we know that the viewer-experience will be top notch. Thank you to Logitech Gaming for giving us an awesome prize pool on such short notice!
We had a fun filled Saturday with the Hearthstone Beta Streamer Invitational in which 16 of the top Hearthstone streamers were invited to compete in a single elimination tournament bracket. Many hard battles were fought in the name of epic loot, and saving the children. Ultimately, one player prevailed. Thanks to Athene and StrawhatChef for providing main commentary on the stream, alongside the unsuspected drop-in commentary by James "2GD" Harding.
Gaming For Good / Save The Children
We ran a fundraiser alongside the Tournament in which our viewers helped us raise $1,500 for Save the Children through Gaming For Good. All donations were increased eight times through USAID to bring the grand total raised to $12,000.
Class Breakdown
Rogues may have had the best class representation with 5 players, but only one made it into the second round. Warriors and Priests were the only classes which were not represented. Curious at who fought who? Check out the bracket on Challonge.

Have you ever seen a 1.3 Billion Damage Lorewalker Cho? Until tonight, we haven't either! Although it wasn't done in a legitimate game, Noxious and Ezm0d used Lorewalker Cho and Inner Fire to create the ultimate Cho. Check out the post about it on our forums.

Were they allowed to change their decks around in between games/matches? If so how many cards were they restricted to changing (if any)?
They could change any cards they wanted, they could change the whole deck if they wanted as long as it was the same class.
That's how Trump won, last game just swapped in Harrison Jones and an Ooze i think. Kind of lame actually but GG to all.
in real tournaments you should not be able to change around decks as much as they did. there is a reason for M:TG you get your 60 card deck and a 15 card PREDETERMINED sideboard for 2nd and third games in matches. Trump didn't just sideboard in harrison jones, he crafted the thing just to throw in against snutz's doomhammers.
for tournaments rules should be clearer. your 30 card deck should be set and perhaps allow a limited sideboard, maybe 6 cards. but to allow you to change your deck completely is pretty stupid.
In a lot of MTG tourneys, you can swap your deck for a different one in between matches. In between games is a little ridiculous though,
I feel you. I've got an empty inbox as well :(
