Puzzles and Hearthstone
Originally posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)It’s time to test your Hearthstone knowledge! Today, we’re going to show you a couple of screenshots of games currently in progress. It’s down to the wire, and a win is imminent. The players in each of these images can win in the current turn, and it’s your job to figure out how exactly to pull it off. Think you can solve these Hearthstone puzzles?
In our first puzzle, you’re playing as Anduin Wrynn, the Priest. Your opponent is the beautiful and deadly Valeera Sanguinar, the Rogue. Valeera is sitting pretty at 27 Health and already congratulating herself on an easy victory. She has a Pint-Sized Summoner on the board, along with a Stormwind Champion and a Spellbreaker, which is currently 5/2.
You have a Lightspawn in play, which is currently 4/4, and 10 Mana at your disposal. Looking at the wealth of cards in your hand (2xDivine Spirit, Stormwind Champion, Novice Engineer, Inner Fire, Power Word: Shield, 2x Mass Dispel, Shieldbearer, and Lightwell), you’re sure you can pull off a victory this turn. How can Anduin Wrynn become Anduin “Win”?
Too easy? Try this next one on for size!
In our second puzzle, you’re once again playing as Anduin Wrynn. Your opponent is playing Gul’dan, the Warlock, and has a Cult Master, Summoning Portal, Blood Imp, Priestess of Elune, and Spellbreaker in play and is sitting at 15 Health.
You are currently in Shadowform and have the following cards in your hand: Auchenai Soulpriest, Inner Fire, Mind Control, Fen Creeper, and Greater Heal. You also have 10 Mana at your disposal. What do you have to do to take Gul’dan out this round?

Disclaimer: Playing as Anduin Wrynn does not guarantee any sort of increased victory chance in games simply because his name rhymes with “win.” There are many words that rhyme with win that will not have an effect on your gameplay, such as skin, fin, and shin—although we do suggest having skin at all times, as it keeps vital organs from hampering your gameplay experience.
Thanks to Hearthpwn for the links of cards used in this blog!
The second one has multiple finishing moves, the best of which doing 6 overkill damage.
These puzzles are too easy, the puzzles the guy on Hearthpwn posts in the forum were a lot more indepth.
I was hoping the second puzzle was about using his cult master to make him draw more card so you could do more damage with the greater heal
I was sadly disapointed XD
yea these puzzles are to keep the non beta people who don't have streams entertained :F
1)- play "power word:shield" on the "lightspawn",play both of the "divine spirit" on the "lightspawn" and just hit Valeera for 28 points of damage with your "lighspawn"
2)-play "soulpriest",follow by playing "greater heal" targeting Gul'dan which will deal 14 damage to him and finish him with you hero power dealing 2 damage to him since you are in "shadow form"
Yeah.... they're dealing with people that have been wasting away on this site forever for a chance at beta. There is no way anyone on hearthpwn would miss this "puzzle".
1. Power Word: Shield the Lightspawn, twice Divine Spirit, Inner Fire, Attack Valeera.
2. Auchenai Soulpriest, Greater Heal on Gul'dan.
Is it me or do these puzzles seem like an insult? I'm pretty sure everyone that knows what those cards say know how to solve them straight away..
First
1 Power Word Shield: Lightspawn
2 Divine Spirit: Lightspawn
3 Divine Spirit 2: Lightspawn
4 Attack with Lightspawn for 28 damage
Second
1) Play Auchenai Soulpriest
2) Play Greater heal
3) Hero Power to finish him off.
First match:
1. Cast Power word: Shield on lightspawn 2. Then cast 2 times divine spirit on lightspawn. 3. KIll him with Lightspawn
Second match
1. Auchenai Soulpriest on battle field. 2. Cast Greater Heal on Gul'dan which will deal him 14 dmg. 3. End his life with your Hero Power.
rofl at least HSRorix trys to make something worth solving :D
They stole his idea and didnt even give him credit!
exactly
ROUND 1:
1st: Power Word: Shield (Lightspawn obviously XD)
2nd: Divine Spirit x2 (on Lightspawn)
3rd: Hit the enemy hero directly like a freight train.
ROUND 2:
1st: Lay Down dat SOULpriest
2nd: Play Greater Heal
3rd: Knock down dat 1 hp with your shadowness on the enemy hero
4th: Say gg politely... oh wait XD Well played it is.
1) Power Word: Shield on Lightspawn then Divine Spirit x2 then hit Valeera in the FACE!!
2) Play Auchenai Soulpriest then use Greater Heal (since Gul'dan has 7 cards this will deal 14 damage leaving him at 1HP, then you can either use the Shadoform Hero Power on Gul'dan to finish him off or you can Inner Fire the Shieldbearer and hit Gul'dan with that for the kill.
The Web Team and CM team that would deal with posting things like this are not involved in any way, shape or form in dealing with the technical aspects of getting the EU Beta up and running.
Keep your pants on, your impatience is showing.
Here's a puzzle. sending out beta keys.
First one:
1) Power Word Shield: Lightspawn will have 7 health, so he'll have 7 damage too. (9/10 mana remaining)
2) Divine Spirit: Lightspawn will have 14 health, and 14 damage as well (6/10 mana remaining)
3) Divine Spirit 2: Lightspawn will have 28 health and 28 damage. (3/10 mana remaining)
4) Direct attacks since Valeera doesn't have any guardians. ggwp
Second:
The warlock has 7 cards on his hand.
1) Play Auchenai Soulpriest (6/10 mana remaining)
2) Play Greater heal: Since the enemy have 7 cards, this will heal someone for 14 health, but because we have the Soulpriest, it will damage for 14. We target the Warlock (4/10 mana remaining) (1 health remaining for the Warlock)
3) Hero power: Since we are in shadow form we direct hit the warlock for 2 damage. (2/10 Mana Remaining) (Warlock dead). ggwp
First one Power Word: Shield, then Divine Spirit (both) and attack?
Second one drop Auchenai Soulpriest, use greater heal on enemy hero (14 damage from 7 card hand, no?), then hero power for 2 dmg?
I'd be more sure of my answers if I ever get into the beta, haha.
Puzzle 1. Cast Power Word Shield on the Lightspawn to make it a 7/7. Cast Divine Spirit on the Lightspawn making it a 14/14. Divine Spirit on the Lightspawn again to make it a 28/28. Attack for the win.
Puzzle 2. Summon Auchenai Soulpriest. Use your Shadowform Hero Power on Gul'dan for 2 damage. Cast Greater Heal on Gul'dan for 14 damage (7 cards in opposing hand) due to the Auchenai Soulpriest ability for the win.
Intresting puzzles! i will try them after the raid! Good Job to us for providing the card links and i welcome the new people who will join us after this post ::D
