posted a message on Nerfs are a bad thing

Let's make it clear - any meta at any time in any game will have top tiers and low tiers. Trying to make everything to the same powerlevel is a) impossible and b) very bad thing to do if you somehow archive this goal - imagine a fighting game that have 25 different characters with the same moveset that just looks differently. Obviously nerfs are needed but only when there is a big problem that can't be fixed anyhow differently. Having few classes that are better than the others is not that case.

This just blows my mind - imagine your favorite deck in the game of all time. The deck you played not because it was easy to climb with, i mean the deck you just really like to play regardless of its winrate. Than imagine key cards in this deck and remove them. Feels good? People are complaining about things like Preparation for example because tempo rogue using it, however they forget that its a key card in now forgotten miracle rogue that still played by enthusiasts just because its a really fun deck with cool mechanic and sinergy.  Remember Fiery War Axe? This card was nerfed due to pirate warrior dominance, but it just slightly decreased its powerlevel, completely killing control warrior at this time and guess what - many people absolutely love to play control warrior. People are leaving hearthstone because they have nothing to play. For example i left standard when ice lance and conseal was HoFed, because i just did not want to play a deck that aren't freeze mage or miracle rogue. My friend dropped the game after undertaker nerf, because he like the deck so he bought Naxxramas just to play it.

Let me clarify, i don't want to have a mess with op decks. Here's how it should be imo:

    1) nerfs should be a rare thing to kill unfairness - darkest hour warlock in wild is that case, because he highrolls by t5-7 and win or he don't and lose. I don't think this was on developers mind when they printed it

    2) nerfs should not read as "remove the card from the game". If it takes to nerf, adress the problem 1st - why is this bad for the game and why it frustrates people. Let's take 2 examples:

Big Priest in wild. Ressurecting is not a bad thing if its fair. But at this case it's too much and too fast. What makes it too fast is Barnes which is clearly a frustrating card (why? because its a highroll card that makes one of two players angry and tilted 100% times its played) so Barnes should be slower (but not unplayable!). What makes it too much is that ressurecting in hearthstone doesn't exist, because there is no graveyard to summon from. It just creates new pool of minions to summon, so you end up with 4 ragnaroses while only one died. Instead of nerfing, get a graveyard and this only increase number of strategies for every class.

Spirit Claws. This was one of the stupidest nerfs of all time. I don't like shaman as a class, but this was just a nerf of strong card, not addressing the problem. People was frustrated with spirit claws not because it was that much powerful, but because it was frustrating to lose to t2 totem roll. For both players. Make an order for shaman's hero power, it will only makes more comfortable to play as AND against shaman.

    3) buffs should be a thing. There was a lot of cool cards that could have an archerype based on these cards, but was just too underpowered to do so. An examples are hunter quest or hobgoblin.

    4) nerfs should not destroy an archetypes. Patron warrior was of the finest decks in hearthstone in terms of sinergy and difficulty. Imo charging patrons should still be possible, but it should be decreased in powerlevel. Making warsong commander 2-1 would be pretty easy solution, because it adds commanding shout to the combo which not only adding additional card to the combo (which is really hard hit) but also setting a board space to 7 minions so you cant suicide patrons into taunts and make bunch of new patrons. This way the combo is still possible, but its harder and weaker (and still playable!).

posted a message on Barnes is not the problem

I gave up on wild, at least for now. Not only i have to play against big priest, i also should deal with genn and baku probably forever.

As for the topic, i think cheating out minions is fine as long as they reasonable to ressurect. Wall priest and clonning priest are fine (they also don't play Barnes, what a surprise. I think not only Barnes should be nerfed, but also cheating or ressurecting (or both) should be somehow restricted. Graveyard mechanic is too much for HS and will confuse new players. However, i believe  shadow essence and both lesser ressurects should have mana cap for their effects, it's stupid to summon 10 mana card for 2 mana without any conditions. Ressurecting Gadgetzan Auctioneer however would be just fine

posted a message on Blizzard confusing me

Before i start, i'd like to point out that its not salty threat about bomb warrior. In fact, as a wild player i still havent played against it (at least from rang5 to rang1).

Dr. Boom was one of the most hated legendary of all time and arguably the strongest one before 1st rotation. Why on earth Blizzard decided to literally reprint it? Its not just the same character with different ability, at least from what i've seen so far most of the time 2 bots are exactly the case. Can't wait for Undertaker reprint, lol

posted a message on A question about wild APM priest

Hi there, I'm wild-only player APM Priest is one of my all time favorite decks. Generaly there is 2 version of the deck - Stonetusk Boar - Divine Spirit - topsy torvy orVelen's Chosen - Holy Smite. For now i prefer boar version just because i do understand how to go infinite (or like 16k dmg). With spd-version i can do 32 from empty board since i can't just get a copy 1-1 boar and kill it to free the space in hand and on board. At least this is how i understand it. However i saw people doing way more 32 dmg per smite and making more smites from the combo. And i quite cant figure it out. Can someone explain?

posted a message on what are you looking forward to in the year of the Dragon?

Wanna have more otk decks, that work because of interactions, not because there is a card like Mecha'thun. Also don't wanna see autowin techs that cannot be played around (like ditry rat). Also wanna have less top tier board centric decks and at least one ineresting deck for paladin, hunter, shaman and warrior, that wanna play multiple cards per turn and relies on sinergy.

posted a message on I'm confused, please explain it to me

Right now there is a tournament happening, today is the last day. Is this the same tournament that was won by Firebat, Ostkaka, Pavel and Tom60229? Or its a qualifier for this tournament? I'm confused, since its "winter" which points out its another seasonal, at the same time there is clips of previous champions before games and its a last tournament before rotation

posted a message on Is It Really "The Genn AND Baku Problem"?

If you don't think that 1 mana hero power is a problem, just go wild and play few games and see how many even shamans (that just don't care about flametongue at all) there are. I guess you are the standard player that don't care about wild, but you need to see how oppressive it can be. It's much worse than any odd deck and really even worse than Barnes (which is really hard to compete with in terms of frustration).

posted a message on "Do you BM?" A Hearthstone Confessional

The only time i use emotes is when new hero is out and i'd like to know what emotes he have.
Also i came to automaticaly click squelch at the start of the game. Because of it i do this in other games when i see hero portrait even if the game doesnt have similar thing.
For years of playing hearthstone its not even crossed my mind to use emotes. Unless my opponent plays the deck i like (and there is maybe 5) i hate him with all my heart, so i'm not just trying to be nice. I just never thought of it
