I think I was pretty unclear at the start sorry guys my bad.
This has nothing to do with Big priest or any other deck type, this was just a question I had on the design of an older card like Ragnaros the Firelord and its interactions with attack buffs or reductions. or lack of interaction for that manner.
Sorry I started another Big priest discussion this wasn't my intention, this whole question came up because I was actually watching a friend play hand-buff Pally when we started talking about this as he had a 12/12 Rag in hand, which was then hit by a Eadric the Pure the turn after he played it.
I only mentioned Barnes at the start as it was a much more common way to see Rag at 1 attack then a pally vs pally matchup where one is handbuff and one is running Eadric.
I came here for a question more aimed at game design but since Rag was wild I thought this would be the best place to discuss the design of Rag as a card, sorry again guys.
Mods if your around it might be best just to close off this post before the big priest fighting gets worse.
At a guess while Finja is good for finding Murlocs but bad when hes in the Res Pool.
Since this deck has (potentially) so much draw with 2x Divine Favor and deck thinning 2x Call to Arms It shouldn't be that hard to find the combo.
The deck also has the High Priest ThekalMolten Giant combo and just straight up beat down with Call to ArmsRallying Blade combos that its not solely focused on rushing the Murloc combo rather using it when the deck is running out of steam.
That is all a guess since I haven't tried the deck yet but I'll update this once I get some time to play with the deck.
This is them balancing it, the decks built around this combo are not gone, its just now you are required to run Innervate to pull the combo off and you actually have to work around the fact you can't draw both with Juicy Psychmelon
If they wanted to remove the decks revolving around this combo they would change Aviana to do something else (EG: your minions cost 3 less) a full removal of the combo would be like the Warsong Commander nerf a few years back.
Because it has a 1 mana symbol in the top left. :-P
Seriously its the theme of the expansion, the card on its own without the 10 mana perk most likely wouldn't be played (never say never as we haven't seen the whole expansion) just like cards like Blazing Invocation or Finders Keepers saw next to no play.
SO adding that 10 mana bonus might be enough for a Dr. Boom style warrior to get some fuel and still be able to play them on the same turn (also while having Dr.Boom as your hero so your mechs have rush)
I've never played big Priest in wild but I have seen a lot of it vsing.
This will be a card to simply smooth out those cases where they get Barnes off the Shadow essence or you opponent poly's / Sap / Hex/ screams or Tink-masters your first shadow essence / Barnes pull.
Its not a insta-win card and sometimes it will be dead yes but those times where nothing is going well all of a sudden your able to dig for a lot of minions.
Consistency is what big priest lacks and this in theory would help that a lot in that case.
Play this PW:S Kel'thuzard then play spirit lash, everything but him dies then at the end of the turn he Resses them all but not as 1/1 minions but under their original stat line.
I can def see this getting play in Wild for Big priest.
Pretty much a guarantee to get one of the big minions you want in your death pool if your draw is bad + cards like Rag or Y'Shaarj always have a decent effect even when pulled as a 1/1.
What is the purpose of the Primordial Drake board clear or just a large taunt?
If its clear, wouldn't Hagatha the Witch be better its 1 more damage on the AoE (enough to kill Pally dudes who have been quatermastered or leveled up) + the 5 armor (I know you only gain the armor on the first cast and not from shudder) could mean the difference between fatigue or not.

I always wondered this question myself, fairly simple question I hope.
EG: Rag from Barnes only does 1 damage
A 12/12 Rag that is buffed deal 12 random damage to a target.
Or would this destroy the card's usefulness and identity?

Why not play Unite the Murlocs in a deck like that?
2
Throw in the old Howlfiend Treachery combo and if your feeling very spicy (or want memes) a Void Contract
Just watch the slower decks cringe in pain.

Because its the first spell you play this turn, the coin is a spell.
Its already been confirmed by play-testers that this is the case.

Wouldn't Direhorn Hatchling be better then Zilliax or am I missing something here?

0/5 card, just a worse version of the cheese stands alone (MTG card)
