posted a message on Leagues Under the Sea - 45 Card Set

Thanks for all of the feedback! Some points I agree on, others I disagree on:

    • With Naj'entus I wanted it to be a build around card. Not just something you could put into any Warrior deck to buff up your fiery war axe, but something where you'd have to build your deck differently for the effect.
    • I'm admittedly not a massive fan of Lurking Horror because it creates a binary situation where if you draw it in you opening hand it's gamewinning but is otherwise useless outside of specific synergies.
    • Shipwreck should perhaps be this turn, or else cost a bit more. I think comparing it with Thing from Below makes it seem reasonable though.
    • Deep Sea Diver - I think that the downside of having to wait so long to use the drawn card warrants it being a 2 mana 3/2.
    • Forgotten One - I honestly don't think this is too much. We had a 10 mana 10/10, we had a 10 mana 12/12 with a huge Deathrattle, none really made it in constructed (or even arena). Let's push the envelope.
    • Cursed Treasure - I think changing this card as you suggest would be missing its point. As I designed it it's currently a unique effect which HS has never seen before, involving a lot of strategy related to when you should get rid of it. I like it as is.
    • Iron Scales - Your suggestion would make it into a different card really. And potentially an incredibly cancerous one in control match ups. I don't want control warriors to be able to permanently gain +20 armour for 5 mana. I mean imagine on turn 10, Warrior has twenty armour, plays double ironscales and now has 80 armour. blegh.
    • Raging Raider is just a 2 mana Magma Rager. I've long wandered whether such a card would be viable so for me it poses an interesting balance question despite being vanilla and 1 health.
    • Tidemistress is I think super powerful. I showed people it before as a 2/4 and it was very frequently called OP. It can kill off low health minions, it synergises with Auchenai. I think it's very strong.
    • Island Cryptid is designed (along with the other Druid cards) are designed to push a new archetype, encouraging the use of cards like Feral Rage, Bite and Savagery. In Warrior the card would be less interesting as it would not encourage new deck types, not to mention OP. Don't fancy those 4 mana 4/20s. The meme meta couldn't take it.

I am thinking this should be better for Warlock.

But the concept seems fine, idk if it would be played, but making a deck around it its gonna be very funny

Priest is the class where Blizzard is pushing silence decks so I thought it was most fitting there. Plus Warlock already has draw for days.

Was wondering what you guys thought of this card, a new draw tool for Silence Priest:

posted a message on Leagues Under the Sea - 45 Card Set

Hi! I have a set of 45 cards here, themed after the oceans of Azeroth and a return to the League of Explorer's. I posted a previous version of this set near the release of Karazhan, but it got lost under the Kara hype I think. So now I've changed and replaced some of the cards making what I think is a more interesting set. The full album is here: http://imgur.com/a/BYoqj

Feedback is of course appreciated. Enjoy!

Sea dragon and lady naz'jar seem over powered at the moment i have noting negative to say about anything else rest of the set looks fine on first glance.

I considered making Lady Naz'jar cost 6. But if you compare her to Thaurissan her effect is basically a similiar effect to him, but harder to pull off because you need a board. And it's random. So given that comparison I think 5 mana is fine.

Sea Dragon seems OP, especially with that stats. Reduce it to a 6/6 or increase it to 7 mana.

I really like the Pirate cards you created. Seems fun and balance.

Whaler's Harpoon seems underpower. Reduce its cost to 4 would make it playable.

Overall, fun and decent set of cards. All of them are good buff to tribal decks that allow them to be more playable. However, the fact that there aren't much spells and many of them are situational or underwhelming and the lack of board clear bothers me as it only made Arena even more rely on who go first.

Sea Dragon could possibly be 7 mana. However I will say that I don't think a vanilla 6 mana 7/7 taunt would actually see play, and the battlecry of Sea Dragon isn't necessarily a plus. Transforming Alex or Nefarian ect. is not a good thing. So it's more a niche tool to transform your useless early game dragons, kinda like Elise. But I can see where you're coming from.
On Whaler's Harpoon - I think a 4 mana 3/3 weapon would be decent in it's own right. This is a card I wanted people to build around a little bit so I made it five.
Thanks for the feedback though, and you are right about the lack of AoE.

I designed these cards shortly before the final Karazhan reveal event. I thought it was funny that I basically made an imo better Onyx Bishop just days before it was revealed.

Hi guys. I have a set of 45 cards here, intended to be the rewards for a new adventure which revisits the League of Explorers, as this time they venture under the sea to face off against an old nemesis - Lady Naz'jar. I have yet to design the encounters, so for now just enjoy the cards: http://imgur.com/gallery/tu1PX

    Neutrals:

     Mage:

     Warrior:

     Rogue:

     Hunter:

    Paladin:

     Druid:

     Shaman:

     Warlock:

     Priest:

     A couple notes:

    • Giant Tuna was a last minute addition replacing the very boring Murloc Bruiser. The imgur gallery displays bruiser (a 4 mana 3/6 vanilla murloc), this thread includes Giant Tuna.
    • I designed Servant of N'zoth just a few days before Onyx Bishop was revealed so I thought it'd be interesting to show people.

Enjoy, and please give feedback if you like :)

posted a message on New Warlock Card - Kara Kazham!

It seems solid in arena, but pretty poor in constructed. I'd say Silver Hand Knight is a better card than this, is the extra 1/1 worth it just for an extra attack on your Darkshire Councilman? I don't think so.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Prince Malchezaar

Ooooh...at the start of the game! That makes it completely different, and much more interesting! Still fulfills a very similar role to Elise, a smaller and more reliable version of her effect. He still competes with her quite a lot so we'll have to see but he seems very viable.

It's good, but it's not as insane as it first appears. Very similar to Elise, with a faster but less powerful effect, and no guarantee that the effect will go off. Do you really need this card if you have Elise? They both fulfil the same role so but Malchezaar is less reliable. So I think that this guy may have to wait until LoE rotates out to see much play.

posted a message on Fan made Karazhan-themed card. Thoughts?

I think at 6 mana this would be balanced, a little too powerful at 5 given that they want to make silence more expensive.

It's 1 mana too expensive . A more expensive Kodo is a bad Kodo, especially when Kodo itself is barely fast enough anyway.

If it has the same cost as kodo, who will then play kodo? Book wyrm can target a minion of your choice and it works on 3-Attack minions. Kodo is for 2-Attack minions
People would play Kodo in non-dragon decks.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Moroes

When I look at this guy I can't help but think of the likes of Grim Patron and Mysterious Challenger, who everyone insisted would be awful but then ended up being everywhere. He seems awful at first glance due to his weakness to AoE but if you buff him just a little bit he's an infinite value machine. And quite a few classes can do that kind of thing.

I think it's poor. If the effect wasn't conditional it would be a pretty balanced and fair effect  (i.e potential to see play but nothing groundbreaking). It's a 4 drop plus a Shadow Word: Pain. The fact that it also has a condition that needs to be fulfilled makes it quite mediocre.
