Should anyone have any doubts regarding crafting [card]Patches the Pirate[/card] I think it's really worth it.
It gives you a huge advantage if you can play a pirate turn 1
It makes your deck more consistent, because you basically have 29 cards
If you play 3 other pirates, the odds are pretty high that you will not draw Patches
It's played in many decks (Pirates Warrior, Miracle Rogue, Aggro Shaman)
I tried this deck and it's pretty neat. So far I'm dominating the meta. The only thing I'm having trouble against are Pirates Warriors (when they get a good draw) and Renolock (pretty much destroys any aggro at the moment).
This deck focuses on staying alive early and then throwing out strong minions late. With cards like Revenge and Whirl Wind we survive against Face Huntards.
Silence is mostly useful to either bypass taunts or render creatures like Shredder or Windrunner useless. BGH is fantastic against handlocks and can kill Dr. Boom instantly. Both cards can be good, depending on the current meta.
If there are more control decks around I would highly recommend to replace Fierce Monkey with BGH. And maybe add a silence.
The current meta still consists of secret paladins, tempo mages and face hunters. Against all of them you're better with Fierce Monkey rather than BGH.
17 - 5 so far with this deck. and I have been legend too (not yet with this deck, thou :P).
Removed cleave for revenge as suggested. sometimes it can be really good. I might give a try with justicar later. bomb lobber turned out to be very useful so far. :)
I understand your doubt. And I've also played CW for many games. However, so far this deck worked surprisingly well for me! The new cards (i.e. Bash and Fierce Monkey) also make it possible to survive early.
Just give it a try, mate! The outcome might surprise you. ;-)
However, I changed it slightly: - 2 mirror entities (too easy to play around. especially vs hunters / mages) - 2 mad scientists (does not make any sense without mirror entity)
+ 2 ice lances (so much freeze, also with spare parts. nice synergy with antonidas) + 2 unstable portals (yolo, you know...:))
Doesn't mean it's better, though. I just like to pray to RNG god (unstable portal) and ice lances are nice damage. Either as a finisher or to trade favourably.

Great deck.
I replaced loatheb with harrison jones, cause I've met many aggro shamans.

Alex is pretty good IMHO. It can not only kill your opponent but also save your own ass. :)
