People are allowed to make offensive jokes. You're suggesting that people shouldn't have the freedom to associate and/or disassociate with the people who make them.

Interesting take on tempo warrior. What are the mulligans? And do you truly find Azure Drake good enough with so few spell damage targets? Hm, and what do you think of replacing one argent commander with cairne? I also wonder, how do you get the most value out of taskmasters to win early game?

Am I the only one who thinks this is worse than polluted hoarder? You gain 1 more health, but draw a card you didn't pick out for your deck instead of one you did... Seems like a bad trade to me, yo.

Played and beat Kolento once. Found his past broadcasts and watched the game afterward to confirm. He trash talked a bunch of my plays too. It was pretty funny.

posted a message on So wild is officially broken now.... (Steward of Darkshire)

Are you surprised? Sooner or later, wild would break. That's why you HAVE to rotate cards out to keep a card game healthy in the long term. Wild is going to be an extremely stupid environment to play in.

posted a message on Formats: who wins and who loses?

This thread totally misses the point. You've framed the issue in the wrong light. Yes, there are collectibility issues at stake too. And I'm sure that was also a consideration of Blizzard's, so as not to create a huge barrier of entry for new players. Most importantly however, is game balance. This change is good for everyone, because it's the only way to avoid insane power creep and unexpected game breaking combos. Have you seen a game of magic where every card ever printed is allowed? It often ends on turn 1.

I get the Unstable Ghoul inclusion, but wouldn't Armorsmith be even better? Thoughts?

posted a message on [TGT] Full Guide Legend Dragon Priest

Hey man. I really like this variation on the deck. It's been treating me well thus far. However, I find the singleton Azure Drake odd. I see that his spot essentially went to Mind Control Tech, which I can be convinced of being better. But wouldn't Dragonkin Sorcerer be the better card to substitute out for it, or do you really value the Sorcerer more than the second Drake? Dumb question... Obviously you do, because that's what you're running. I guess my actual question then is, why?

posted a message on Randomized packs for Arena: will playing Arena still be worth it?
    Quote from nd_ohnoes jump

We don’t need another one of these threads, use the search option.

And arena is still worth it because you make more gold and dust compared to construction if you’re a good player.

This is only true if you own a roughly equal amount of cards from each set. If, like many of us, you own most of the cards from Classic and GVG, but not TGT, then the expected value of a random pack is much lower than a TGT pack. So unless you're doing way, way above average in arena every run - then buying TGT packs with gold may very well be the most efficient way to spend it. Once you own most of TGT, then what you say will be true again.

Let me put it this way: I used to play arena almost exclusively to build my collection, but until I own many more TGT cards I will no longer be.

I wouldn't get too excited til you see your credit card statement. You could definitely contest it though.

The sample size doesn't have to be that huge to get a pretty accurate estimate. This is how polls are conducted.

And polls should be taken for what they truly are. A volunteer representation of an idea that someone asked someone else to conduct the survey/poll on.

You already have out there a pretty accurate estimate of the meta..., just make some research. You won't find perfect statistics for a particular day, I assure you.

I think you're trying to talk about problems with self-reporting, and/or question bias in polls? I mean, sure those problems exist and they're bigger or smaller depending on the poll. My point was simply that a random sample, assuming the sample data is true, can be used to make a pretty accurate estimate of reality, and the sample size doesn't have to be huge. That's just math, and true. If you're tying to say that people are going to misreport. I guess, maybe they will. I tend to think that people will probably make fairly accurate reports. You could also use some kind of criteria to weed out some of the less credible reports. Heartharena does a really good job of this.

The point being, there isn't any reason this couldn't be done - it apparently just hasn't been, at least not in real time.

Does such a thing exist? Like HearthStats, but a conglomeration of all inputs from all users. It would be super useful to know how many of what kinds of decks are being played at any given time.

That interaction should be pretty clear. I was surprised by one earlier today though. I placed a Void Terror between a Haunted Creeper and Nerubian Egg and when the deathrattled minions popped out, they showed in this order: spider, nerubian, spider.
