posted a message on Don't drink and hearthstone

so ts halloween.  I had a long day in court and wanted to celebrate.  I broke out some vodka, put on the newest Angry Video Game Nerd, and played the newest halloween arena.  Drunk.  I went 0-3.  I thought I would do good, I watched Trumps arena run.  BUt no, my draft sucked.  I sucked.  It all sucked.  But I'm drunk, so I don't care.

share your best drunk hearthstone stories below.  Bonus points if you are drunk on a holiday and hearthstoning.

posted a message on Video Games saved my life

SI have lost everything.  But games saved my life.

I sit here, after nearly hanging myself with no where else to turn.  Considering whether it is better to slit my wrist or hang from the ceiling.  But guess what saved my life:    FUN.  Good old fastioned, unapologetic fun.

3 months ago I lost my faith in God.  Which wouldn't typically matter, but I was raised Mormon and had a bunch of Mormon kids.  Over a period of six weeks everything started to fall apart, and I remain in my home, alone with my wife an family across the country.  I felt at a bitter end, after another rough phone call from the ex.  She did nothing wrong, I did everything wrong.  The usual.

I came super close to ending it all, but I didn't.  Want to know why, because I decided that I still like to have fun.  All alone, nobody else, I can still have fun.  I can put on the newest episode of Rick and Morty and play my favorite game.  And it is still as fun as ever.  I Have a great job, criminal defense attorney in Kentucky.  I make plenty of money, but a career is not enough to keep me going.  WHat is enough to keep me going, the idea of coming home, and just having fun.  All alone, I don't care I can have fun.

So yes people can hart on video games all they want, but they give me an out.  They give me something to enjoy which doesn't rely on anyone else.  It gives me a community.  So I can say today, that video games saved my life.  I am greatful for these games, and for these gaming communities that don't care if you reject God and lost your wife.  They simply care if you want to come to the table and have fun.  So thank you Trump, thank you Day9, Thank you youtube, thank you Rick and Morty, Simpsons and that various other forms of entertainment.  And thank you blizzard.  Even if all else fails, I can fall on good old fashioned fun.  And it saved my life today.

posted a message on eSPorts considered in next olympics? What!

I agree.  They tried to have an esports olympics, it was World Cyber Gaming (WCG).  But it turned out to be south Koreans owning the rest of the world.  Eventually it didn't make enough money and esports turned home to south Korea.  MLG doesn't have the feel of olympics, it feels more like the NBA.

I would prefer a seperate esports olympics, that happened online 2 weeks after the olympics.

posted a message on Warcraft > LOTR

"That means that only 27% of all these people, from all different backgrounds, actually recommend the film."

-- False.  Haven't seen Rotten tomatoes before?  Each movie has two different scores, one done by critics and one done by people.   YOu said "27% of all these people, from all different backgrounds."  That figure only deals with movie critics, not lots of people from lots of backgrounds.  THe Lots of people score was over 80%.  THis shows your utter lack of intelligence, are you even educated.

YOu attacked my intelligence, but how much education have you actually had?  I Have been trained in analysis, getting a degree in English literature.  Then I can a juris deoctorate and am employed as an attorney in Kentucky, haven't passed the bar on my first try after getting a full ride scholarship through law school.  So sub par intelligence, far from it.  How much education have you actually had?  COnsidering you don't even know how rotten tomatoes works, I am guessing not much.

And how am I a troll?  I posted a pro warcraft post on a forum dedicated to the warcraft genre?  I posted on the one forum where I would find like minded individuals.  THat is like the opposite of trolling.

posted a message on Ways to beat secret Paladin?

I would recommend that on the turn after their mysterious challenger is played do not attack unless you know you can clear anything.  Try to have some sort of removal for challenger or a board clear.  IF they play it on a naked board, and I don't attack next turn, just play other cards I can usually out tempo them.  Why, because 1/3 of their deck is worthless.  So just don't feed them on that turn unless you k,now you can clear.  I try to just get up a huge taunt on that turn, they attack into it and I swipe/holy noval/clear of your choice.  That way they don't get anything huge

Its kind of like playing against handlock, where you just never attack face ever.  That way, you take out 1/3 of their threats, and you only hae 4 real threats to deal with.  Take out those 4 threats and hang back, and attaqck only when you know you can kill him that turn or the following turn.  Same with secret paladin, except for with not attacking face it is playing around those secrets on that infamous turn.  That is their win condition, if you defuse it carefully, you will usually win.

I rarely loose to face hunter.  The hunter is the priests best friend, that he kills repeatedly.  I love the face guys, helps me rank faster.

posted a message on Worst RNG EVER! Beneath the Ground pwned my TGT aggro paladin

It was the cards working as designed,  How is that RNG?  I was expecting like 2 Nerbians in one turn, or even 3!  But they were really spread apart.

Would you use Poison Blade if it had Inspire +1/+1  be overpowered?  It would be a clear win condition.

    Quote from RedVerde jump

    100 gold!  Woo-hoo!

"You receive 100 gold for completing the Expert set"

How about a card back? Something?

I think it is fine.  I mean gamers spend HOURS trying to get a perfect run without deaths in Volgar the Viking, and what do they get an "achievement."  That's it.  So pretty much Heathstone is giving you an opportunity to take a screenshot and brag to your friends, as an achievement.  Seems consistent with other achievement models we gamers adore.  (But I also think a card back is fine too, but then others would complain that they are money grubbing and that a poor gamer can't get all the card backs unlike other card backs they get just from laddering).
