It's probably not a nerf for the current meta, as Mage is in a weak place right now, but rather them planning to weaken a couple of cards in Mage so they can print better cards in the future. Cards like Mana Wyrm tend to just restrict design and it's why we've seen things like Undertaker nerfed in the past.
One things to consider is that there is such a thing as critical mass. Two copies of AC aren't always enough, but four copies might be, especially when you can AC after using this. Don't forget you also have more ways to fetch cards (minions) from your deck now.
When people want a control meta, but then complain when they actually have a semi-control meta.

I'd call this more of a combo meta. Every deck feels like it has a massive swing in power based on how well it times certain draws, back in the day Undertaker was an issue as the power it provided early on was too overwhelming and to a smaller extent Mech Warper also skewed games a bit too much on two.
Today we have Prince in Aggro, Raza in priest, Spiteful Summoner on 6, Mare on 7, Lackey/Skull on 5, Deathknight on X, etc, etc. A control meta would be one where things are smoothed to be consistent and not quite so swingy on certain key cards. I remember reaching Legend back in GvG using a midrange/control Paladin build with no Quartermaster or Tirion as I didn't own them, today I don't feel like you could build a deck that functions that well while missing key cards as you're pretty heavily dependent on them. In fact, back then you could even argue for not running QM, as I did, because while it was an insane card, you could run other things in place of it, forcing people to waste a lot of energy clearing Musters and such for a QM that never came, but instead something like Skygolem would come down.
I was a very committed hearthstone player for 3 years and with the last extension kind of killed me... The meta is either very aggroie or very biggie with nothing in the middle and it's kind of dull...
I started playing Gwent 3 weeks ago and even though it got it's issue it was a very needed change.
I'll still probably go back to HS with the next rotation with the hope that something will change
I agree with you to some extent, but disagree on certain factors. I think Warlock is one of the funnest decks I've seen, but not necessarily the full cube version, but rather different variants of it.
I do think that right now the game has a major issue in that every deck depends on drawing things way too heavily so everything feels like a combo deck. The power difference of drawing Prince in rogue, or Raza in priest is massive. The same can be said to a lesser extent with Skull in Warlock, though Warlock is so consistent it can usually make do with most hands. Following that, the timing of Creeper and Bonemare also skew the game heavily. It would be nice to see the game return to a more consistent state.
I think by far the best meta was GvG after Undertaker was nerfed, which was one of those cards that was too good if you got it on 1.
There's really no strategy needed in this, maybe there's some minor advantage that can be gained, but in reality the majority of games I played in the brawl were completely one sided whether for me or my opponent.
This is the brawl equivalent of those youtube videos that have pregnant Elsa versus Spiderman, versus Joker, giving birth the Santa Claus. It's a bunch of random bullshit that most sane people find distasteful, while small children and people without much sense of taste enjoy because it's "lawls so random".
Can't be too upset as I got two epics, but sucks when both were epic misses when this set is full of amazing epics D:
So far I think out of all the epics I've opened, only two were going being 1 Voidlord and 1 Creeper. I think I opened every one that can be considered a miss as a 2 of D:
For 2018, I want less swingy cards... I'm tired of living in a world where games hinge on Prince, or Bonemare, or a hundred other things that skew the game massively based on when they're drawn. Every single deck feels like a combo deck right now, where if you happen to open the right hand you're so far ahead it's stupid. Raza on 5, Anduin on 8, Prince on 2, Cubes early on, Quest Mage, Spiteful Summoner on 5 or 6 if you have coin, make it stop D:
Remember when they nerfed Call of the Wild because games hinged too much on it? What happened man?

Shirvallah the Tiger, because we gave up on names.

If this is good, the game is bad...

Depends if you have something like Flametongue or not? You can also cast this with less targets and less overload, which can be very important.
It's not an amazing card, but it's something that might have some utility.

Edit: Ok, I enjoy playing Warlock, but still D:
