I think this is not quite a cancerous as Thing from Below because you actually need to play cards to get the effect, and not just spam hero power. That being said, a nut draw that puts this on board at Turn 2 with two secrets out (especially Counterspell to make killing this much harder) probably means a straight up loss for a lot of decks.
I'm happy to see all this AOE, but it makes me think it'll drive an increase in pure face decks - they don't honestly care that much if you kill their stuff, the damage is already in. This especially is a face deck's dream version of AOE. You kill my guys but Kill Command your own face? OK!
I think it was overal dumb of Blizzard to do this brawl so close to the new expansion. People are hoarding their gold for that. It's a waste of money imo.
I think it's actually brilliant to do this now - Blizz wants people to spend the gold so they have to buy packs. I think that the lure of the brass ring might be too much for a lot of people who are looking at a big pile of gold and say "eh, what's 10 packs in the new set really gonna mean anyway?" But when they don't get the cards they want, maybe they drop some money on packs.
I'm staying way away myself, but that's because I don't even like the pressure of Arena runs. My psychology is very risk averse in this game, I guess - I get extra salty if a bad loss means much of anything.
This card is great; if Cho'gall had been a mage legendary he would have gone straight into many control mage decks. You sacrifice some stats to compensate for the loss of life, and that's worth it. 5/5 is still a decent midrange body.
With Medivh's Valet, any secret that sticks. Obviously Ice Block and Ice Barrier are OK. Counterspell is weak-ish, for sure. If you get Mirror Entity for free, it might prevent that Shaman from playing Totem Golem on two, so anything that messes with the opponent's game plan is good. After that, they do start getting pretty bad.
To the comparisons to The Black Knight - it is nice that there's a anti-taunt tech card now that is NOT a legendary. I don't have TBK, and don't really want to craft him. Taunt Warrior gets too common? I have a cheap tech option, and I'm happy for that.
Holy crap does Renolock like that! Another Hellfire attached to a big body? I wonder if this would possibly sub in for Twisting Nether?
My thoughts exactly. I think Twisting Nether should stay in though.
So does Renolock run all 5 board clears still? I think you can't cut the cheap ones for when you're getting run over early. An obvious change for some current lists is this for Baron Geddon - Abyssal Enforcer is better in many ways, because 3 damage kills many things that 2 does not.
What the hell is this lazy creation I expected something more interesting from them but atleast this is a playable legendary for hunter but you need atleast 4 attack to play this against priest.
I am sick to death of comments like this - it's a completely new effect. You may not like it, the card may be bad (I think it's got potential), but it's a new idea. Stop bashing every card as boring.
I don't know what to say other than this is superbroken. A single Hand Buff makes it a 5 mana 9/9 (Fel Reaver was 8/8, and with a crippling downside).
Two buffs make it a 5 mana 12/12. If you're not running some hard AoE or your own Doppelgangster, this might as well be curtains.
Evolve Shaman also got terrifying.
I agree this card is likely broken - but I'm not a big fan of this kind of analysis. Let's say, purely for vanilla sake, that this is played into a Pit Fighter and it has been buffed twice, so 3 4/4s. Yes, you get to trade the Pit Fighter with a 4/4 left over. And that's way too good. But it's NOT trading into a pit fighter and leaving a 12/7. That's game ending.
The card is fine mechanically, but I really don't see much of a connection between the name/image and the deathrattle.
I feel like they could have tried a little harder to come up with a thematic creature instead of just putting some random gnoll's face on the ability they were obviously quite keen to include with the other Goon stuff.
OK, here is my try - he's got a strong gun, but he's so shaky that he kills himself when he uses it (while doing damage to someone else, of course). Another minion picks it up, and boom! Buffed.
Is this possibly somewhat better now that we've seen all the Grimy Goons buff cards? If you got off two buffs, and you had new Charge you could kill two 5 health minions with it. Or you could just drop it and hope they did not have hard removal - a 5 / 7 is not easy to kill.

Imagine the buff hitting Grommash Hellscream - kill a 6 health minion and leave behind a 12 / x where x > 5 in most cases.

The card is nowhere near epic enough for the art - an orc with 5 rock throwing cannons? Yes please!
