I would appreciate it if the Jade Druids could get out of Casual. I think something like 4 of the last 5 matches. Trying to make DK Thrall work and this is not helping. Spreading Plague is an annoying card.

    Quote from SchruteBucks >>

Can we get a little clarification on these two things:

    • "You cannot have more than one Shadow Reflection in your hand."  Couldn't you just not play anything for a couple of turns so that you generate multiple copies?  If so, do all copies of Shadow Reflection then turn into the same thing when you play a card?
    • "Each time you play a card" implies that Shadow Reflection can transform more than once.  But if it transforms, it's an entirely new card, and cannot transform again, correct?
I think, from the video, that the game simply won't create more than one Shadow Reflection - if you did not use it, you don't get a new one. The full transform only happens (like Shifter Zerus) when you play Shadow Reflection, so it will change each time you play a card.

I don't think this will give crazy Leeroy Jenkins and Shadowstep combos because it's a copy of the LAST card you played - so you can't copy the Shadowstep if you've played the 2nd Leeroy - and from the description the discount on the Shadowstepped Leeroy won't work for the copy. Arcane giants work because that's in the card text, not a buff. Double N'zoth's won't work either, because I'm pretty sure the effect won't carry over to the next turn. I thnk Jades is where this will be pretty busted, although playing 3 Arcane Giants in a turn is crazy too.

It doesn't sound like the right flavor for a Death Knight, but possibly the new DK Paladin will give divine shields? That would make this and the weapon better late game.

posted a message on New Rogue Quest - The Caverns Below (Crystal Core)

The rogue quest feels super busted. Had a priest quest, admittedly deck is pretty unrefined but two rogue matchups I got Amara both times and it mattered not at all. Basically infinite 5/5 (and it is SO easy to finish rogue quest). I even bounced my Amara one game, does not matter at all. In the second game I never drew either of the Dragonfires - maybe that would have won me that one, Rogue was running low on cards. I'll have to play more later but right now it feels like at least that matchup is an auto-loss.

I suppose this should be in salt thread, but I think this one might be the one that gets nerfed.

posted a message on The Pepper Thread - Share your good vibes!

I've been playing a wild zoolock for the past couple of days just for fun (25 - 15) and I'd forgotten how much I liked zoolock. Imp-plosion is great, Gormok is fun, you have to plan out minion trades and minion placement really matters. It's still not as skill-intensive as some decks, but it takes some smart plays. I'd actually venture to say it's the best deck for a new player to master (budget versions can be pretty decent) because it really focuses on a lot of the basics. Too many shamans in Standard (why did they ever create Maelstrom Portal?) but it's pretty fun in Wild.

posted a message on Friendly reminder that cards look and play completely different

Vanilla means no card text, or no useful card text; the OPs idea is that people originally thought that Mysterious Challenger's ability was crap because Pally secrets are crap. Turned out anything for free in Hearthstone is not crap.

posted a message on Should new players buy adventures rotating out?

I think yes on LoE, just for Reno. Any free-to-play / newish player will find it hard to make a GREAT wild Reno deck, but they can at least try it out. For 700 gold you get a legendary with a truly one-of-a-kind effect (haha). For new players, the 1400 dust for Reno is way more than 7 packs of cards.

posted a message on Boss Battle Royale - Tavern Brawl #85

I actually had some success with Paladin - I think I got a bit lucky, but the auto-attacks can be quite strong since there is no retaliation. The pieces also have a ton of health, and the hero power can keep you supplied with late game since there are 30 pieces in this brawl. Looking forward to trying the other ones, tho! If the opponent does get some heavy hitters early and you have no knights you're in trouble tho, since they can just smorc you and you can't concentrate your damage.

posted a message on Drakonid Operative needs to be nerfed

Having played a small amount of Dragon Priest, I'm going to echo what others have said, which is Netherspite Historian is probably what breaks this card. 2 of is very, very strong - but remember Blizz does not nerf very, very strong. If they did Thing from Below would have been hit. However, when you can get 3 or 4 - or more in a mirror match - it creates so much value that it's scary. I think priest really needs the mid-range 5 attack, so I think taking it to a 5 / 4 (not a 4 / 5) would be fair.

posted a message on Double Deathrattler Battler - Tavern Brawl #78

I think I just got lucky in being matched up with new players, but on my main and my alt account I won vs. decks that clearly had not even looked at the Brawl rules. One was a standard mid-shaman, and the other was playing an odd homebrew Jade Druid. Neither played a single deathrattle. Needless to say, both wins were easy. I'm not going to bother to play a bunch more since I got my packs and I'm messing around with MSoG decks.

posted a message on New Card - Ancient of Blossoms

Rough rule of thumb is buffs are better on minions that are health heavy, but generally you still want close to vanilla in total stats. 1 mana cheaper and it works in a Taunt warrior / Goons deck, but this is pretty bad.

posted a message on New Legendary Card - Mayor Noggenfogger

Blizzard sometimes prints stupid cards, but I suspect this effect is a lot better than it looks (or they're being a special kind of stupid this time). I'm guessing it was a lot cheaper early in testing and was too effective at making large enemy boards useless, so they made it more expensive.

posted a message on Disliking all the new quests

I actually love the idea that I play games where my goal is not to win, but just play certain cards. I can still try to win with a weak deck, but that's not the goal. It allows me to relax and just play the game and shrug off the losses.

posted a message on New Card - Fight Promoter

I think this clearly makes sense with the Jade Golem mechanic - if you can go all in on that enough to make getting 6/6 golems reasonable. Also works OK with ramp druid in general - you've got so many big bodies. Finally, pretty nice with Kun the Forgotten King. Refill after dropping him, it's better than Nourish.
