posted a message on Trump's + Lifecoach's TGT review makes me depressed

I didn't watch lifecoach's 100 hour review but I think they are right for what you said. The inspire and the joust mechanics were overvalued in most cards but there is no reason to be sad. GvG made the game more fun and most cards of that set are crap. BRM was even worse since the decks basically didn't change apart from adding emperor and some class cards and of course there is that annoying op deck that this expansion brought. Every expansion affects the meta: Naxx brought a lot of crazy op cards for all kinds of decks, GvG helped aggro decks and BRM helped combo decks.

About TGT, I think it will be fun and it will probably slow down the meta at least a little bit. If you are sad for being a priest player look at the rogue cards in this set. Blizzard hates rogues. In the end the good decks might not change much but the game always ends up better because with new cards there is more room for creativity even if it's not competitive. Although now I find grim patron toxic to the meta it was at first an interesting deck with an unique play style.

Lastly I just want to point out how all that testing Blizzard says they do sound bullshit to me. If they tested so much how didn't they foresee that the dragon decks of BRM would be absolutely crushed by the pre-existing aggro decks? I love the dragons, but I don't like losing 70% of the games for trying to play them. What happened to the dragons is likely to happen with the inspire decks. TGT will probably be good but it certainly could have been way better.

Flamewaker is great but it's only a tempo mage card. I don't know how valuable TGT packs will be but you surely want the classic legendaries. If I would make a priority list it would be like Naxx and Classic packs > TGT and GvG > BRM. BRM only the first wing is ok. On GvG you want some rares and commons that you can craft and basically only Boom and Malghanis come to my mind. My guess is that TGT will be a little less valuable than GvG but you never know. Naxx people already said that is full of op cards.

posted a message on How will the new meta go ^^?

It's hard to tell. This expansion focused more on control but most of the inspire and joust cards seem underwhelming to me. There are some cards that will surely help to counter aggro but if totem-shaman works we will have another guy in the cancer team.

posted a message on 1 year anniversary for me...never been past rank 14

I am kind of late to this topic so I apologize if I say something someone already said.

It took me several months for me to learn how to climb too so don't be said. You just have to stop and do some research on what are the best decks in the meta and which of those decks you can play with your collection. Then here I made a list of general considerations that I think will be helpful.

1- the best deck for you to climb might be a deck you hate. I climbed to rank 5 with eboladin that is a deck I don't like but if you love hearthstone and specially if you like winning you'll have a good time after all it isn't fun to pick your favorite deck and get wrecked every single game.

2- if you have no experience with the deck and maybe even if you do you should watch good players on stream and youtube. I recommend strifecro and trump since they explain their plays quite often but there are other good ones too. Trump made a youtube series teaching new players the basics of each deck btw.

3- you can blame rng for losing a game but you can't blame it for not climbing since when the sample is big skill trumps luck. Like someone said above, listening to music and doing other stuff helps you not to get too salty when luck isn't on your side just don't get too distracted.

4- don't underestimate the decks. Even the easiest ones require different play styles for each match so think through each play so you learn from your mistakes.

5- have in mind that the meta is slightly different in each level of ranks so you probably won't go from 20 to legend playing only one deck.

6- from rank 20 until about rank 7-6 you might want to play a fast deck so you play more games in less time. This obviously won't pay off if you don't have a good win rate.

7- when making adjustments to your deck don't try to counter everything and there is no point on adding a card to enhance a matchup that is already terrible. Try adjusting your deck looking at your close matchups that are also somewhat frequent.

8- really give the decks a shot. Study them and play at least 6 games before giving up on them. Sometimes you just queue into a series of bad matchups and it doesn't mean the meta has changed because it's very a small sample.

Now about arena: like everyone said, you have to watch good arena players. Deck builders might help a little bit but they are just bots so they won't get you very far. Amaz and Kripp constantly play arena o stream. I like Amaz better since Kripp doesn't talk much on stream but the schedule is also an important factor since you won't be up until 5 watching some guy streaming. There is also Disguised Toast that is kind of a new streamer so most people don't know him but he is good at arena too. Trump also plays arena on stream and he posts it in youtube too. Just look it up and shouldn't be too hard to find a streamer that you like and is a good player.

Because it has a 3 mana cost that allows you to play a minion on the same turn and you might also use lava shock to unlock your mana crystals.

Actually no. The card costs 3 so you can play it and lava shock by turn 5 and have no overload on the next turn.

Dude, you need all the upvotes of this world. I couldn't have said it better but most people in this forum don't get it. Poor design in a nutshell. Midrange hunter is already a strong deck and this card allows a fairly high game-winning rng events that are in most cases worse than bane of doom because hunter's can do damage so quickly that there's way less room for comeback. It doesn't have to summon king krush since the opponent most likely won't be able to deal with any of the big beast without huge tempo loss that will cost him the game.

Do you like the idea of losing the game when this card summon a huge beast by turn 5 or 6? I can't wait for that.

Some of those aren't just "crazy", they are game winning. Most decks aren't prepared to deal with such huge threats on turn 5/6 without a huge tempo loss and against midrange hunter if you fall behind in tempo you're doomed.

No need to be King Krush. Anything bigger than Rhino on turn 5 will probably win the game. I hate this card.

I always get a bunch of down votes in this forum. I don't know if they didn't understand that this card will only impact the meta when it comes out of bane of doom or if they just are hoping to win some games with this game-winning RNG. Anyway, what goes around comes around and warlock players will be destroyed when the enemy hunter gets luck on Ram Wrangler.

That is true but I still think these 2 new legendaries are not useable at all. Too high cost removals in two cards aren't good. I would play deathwing over them anytime and I don't think I would play deathwing. Those two cards will only impact the game when they come out of webspinner or the new random-summoning beast dude.

My thoughts too. No point on stacking spelldmg just to remove a minion since there are cards way more consistant that do enough dmg to minions. Maybe it works in some tempo decks but mostly it will only double +1 so it's basically a conditional 1 mana 4 dmg to minion.
