posted a message on Battlegrounds is rigged
    Quote from Toribasher >>

I do think Battlegrounds has rigging in it.

I think the game is definitely rigged.  You can't watch the opponent's first 4 attacks with AI-like precision dismantle your board doing a 1 in 700 sequence of events several times and come to the "it's just random" conclusion.

    It's clearly not always random.

Do they do this to shorten the games?  To make the games more exciting?

So the important thing is to have Taunts to somewhat suppress the ability of the game to screw you.

Wait, what?  In order for it to be rigged against you, it would need to be rigged FOR other players.  BGs are a zero-sum play mode.  If you're thinking "crap, those attacks sucked", your opponent is thinking "wow!  Those were some lucky attacks".

Odds are odds.  I've won 0.4% rounds and I've lost 99.6% rounds.  Sometimes the randomness blesses you, sometimes it curses you.

It's like going to the casino, seeing that a roulette wheel has hit black 4 times in a row, throwing all your money on red and then yelling that the wheel is rigged when it hits black for a 5th time.  It's not rigged, it's just how randomness works in the world.

posted a message on Has the Mercenaries gameplay changed your mind?

Honestly, I spend too much on HS as it is.  Mercs is likely going to be evergreen like standard HS, and I'm not about to throw another $50 - $150 at the game every 4 - 6 months.  The gameplay vids haven't been exciting enough to change my mind on that.  I'm not about to spend 1 - 2 AAA titles worth of stuff every cycle like I have on Standard all these years.

As someone else already said, Blizz got too greedy here.  While I realize they needed something better monetized than Battlegrounds, the model they're using for Mercs is just too much of a kick in the wallet for me to even consider getting sucked in to it.

posted a message on Quest Mage is unstoppable.

Been burning through mage with Evolve Shaman.  You get big threats on the board faster than they can complete their quest.  If they do manage to complete it, they are forced to throw their burn at your minions instead of at your face.

That being said, I'm pretty tired of the "game over by turn 8" meta.  Everything is a race now.  There isn't going to be room in this expansion for control decks since we have these no-minion decks that there is no way to "control".  One dimensional metas are super boring.

posted a message on Whats the deal with Priest questline

People keep using these perfect curve examples that complete the quest on turn 8.  Can you imagine a situation where you get to do this and not be dead well before you draw your 10 mana win condition from your still-bloated deck?  Can you imagine what happens when it's turn 4 and you haven't drawn a 2 cost card yet, so you can't play your 4/5/6 cards because you won't have enough of them left in your deck to progress your quest after a 2 cost is drawn?

My prediction is that people put up videos of their dream games showing the quest working.  But the win-rate is going to be in the toilet because it forces when you play your cards and only works if you draw them in the perfect order.

posted a message on How do you beat deathrattle DH?

Having a lot of luck with rush warrior.  Your minions tend to be higher quality to theirs and you can chain-kill their auto-play deathrattles until they are out of threats.  After that it's keeping up the pressure until 8 so they are forced to put damage in to your minions instead of your face.

posted a message on What game mode are you playing most in the moment?

I'm about 50/50 between BGs and Standard.  Used to play a lot of Arena, but it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. Which is unfortunate because I have a pile of Tavern tickets to use up on something.

Duels and Wild are modes I've tried but didn't enjoy.  I don't see me going back to them any time soon.

posted a message on Archdruid Naralex's RNG is Rigged?

If any of this was true, HSReplay would have blown the lid off the whole thing a long time ago.  They have the statistical data to prove the probability of Fel attacking face.  They know the stats of getting dream cards.  Statistics reveal themselves over large buckets and timelines, not tiny pools.

I realize it gets frustrating when you see statistics in real time going against you.  But this is like rolling snake eyes twice in a row at a casino and screaming to anyone that will listen that the dice are weighted.  Your opinion is anecdotal at best, and easily countered by folks who have access to much larger data sets.

And, as in with any conspiracy theory, you have to ask yourself "why would they do this?".  If they wanted people to buy the new mini-set, wouldn't they tilt Naralex to give useful dreams more often?

posted a message on How can blizzard make quilboars balanced in the current meta share your thoughts below

Honestly, I think there are too many Quillboars in general, which makes it easy to collect a fully synergized group.  On top of the changes already suggested in this thread, I'd retire a couple of the others.  I'd remove Bonkers completely; they provide so much early/mid bloodgem generation, combined with decent stats.  If not retired, I'd consider removing windfury from them so that you're halving their gem production.  I'd also remove the 3/3 that moves blood gems to a target; blood gem decisions should be permanent.  Right now there is little reason not to play all your blood gems early since you can move them to better targets later with the 3/3.

posted a message on New feature idea - auto "skip" (lose) matchup

Sounds like you're more of a rock-paper-scissor gamer who doesn't have the patience where "control" is an archetype.  If you don't like longer matches and want to auto-skip them, you're playing the wrong game.  There will always be long games in HS.

posted a message on Are people afraid to play something other then meta?

I've been playing mainly Priest, because it does well against the Mage and Pally decks.  But I've been running in to more Druid lately, which chews me up.

posted a message on How to kill ropers. Some good thoughts

I'd like to see the rope changed completely.  Introduce a clock system similar to poker.  Every round you get 6 seconds added to your rope-bank.  The bank holds a maximum of 60 seconds.  That way you're encouraged to play within the round timers, but there is a bank you can pull from on the occasion that you have a lot of things to do, or you need extra time to think.  But a constant roper is only able to "rope" for 6 seconds a turn.

posted a message on Its this time again.

Who are you arguing with?  Being proactively defensive may not be necessary here.

It looks like The Nameless One hasn't had an increase in play in December.  You may have personally started seeing it more often, but in the overall world of Hearthstone, its occurrence has remained consistent.  It doesn't look like there is a conspiracy by Blizzard to trick people in to crafting/playing the card.   It also looks like the card has a sub-50% win rate when run in a deck.

    https://hsreplay.net/cards/61208/the-nameless-one#tab=recommended-decks

What instance did The Nameless One end up being game winning here?  Did someone copy and silence a paladin minion with a bunch of librams on it?  Copy/silence a Rattlegore to get a 4/4 that deathrattles in to an 8/8?  Without describing why you're upset, this just seems like you're screaming in to the void about a card that, from all appearances, isn't really all that good to run in a deck.

    posted a message on Edwin. 4/4 -> 14/14 how?

You own screenshot disagrees with your description.  Look at those cards played on the left there.  The mana cost is decreased by 2 because of the Shadow Step.  All those cards together result in a 14/14 Edwin

posted a message on What do YOU want out of the Hearthstone Meta?

I feel the same way.  You need all 3 deck types to be able to flourish or the meta gets stale.  The problem now, imo, is that aggro blitz decks are fairly dominant, which is making the meta repetitive and boring.  All these aggro decks are forcing me to play control priest, which makes me feel like a bad person when I play against a non-aggro deck; I end up wanting to message the other player and say "I am so sorry for the slow slog of a game we're about to have".

posted a message on Should i save my MDF packs?

With duplicate protection, I'm not sure how that could be accurate.  Especially given that you can get/craft cards between when you get a pack and when you open it.  If you already have all the MDF commons and rares, you should be guaranteed to get the new common/rares, regardless of when you purchased the packs.  At least that's how I've always assumed it works.
