posted a message on Returning player... what should I buy?

Edit: just saw that you played during MSG. There are almost no deck archetypes left in wild from back then and the ones that are need significant updates from later released sets. Pirate warrior is probably the least changed but its tier 3 at best ATM.

Tldr if you played during year of the mammoth play wild if you left before frozen throne buy scholomance

The cards from last year were super op rise of shadows saviors of uldum decent of dragons but they are only going to be standard for another 5 or 6 months. Ashes of Outland was a decent set in hs history but underpowered in comparison to those 3 and scholomance seems the most op.

Depending on what your collection looks like you could try wild instead of standard, if you were playing during frozen throne or kobolds its probably where u should start.  cube lock and secret mage, quest mage, reno priest, almost any druid deck are still great from back then with a few fairly cheap updates. But if you missed kft or k&c you should probably just buy scholomance.

posted a message on What do you think is most poorly designed/balanced #stupidest card in current rotation?

Looked at pole, how is jade idol not on the list? But Honestly other than bloom I dont think any of these cards crack the top ten. Kaelthas is only problematic because of how OP druid is with card draw and ramp. I hope they design cards in the future that can only be played in 6 or 7 of the classes.

posted a message on Why So Many Complains About Priest?

Tldr: priest feels really bad to play against. Losing as priest feels like there was nothing you could do all game while losing to priest feels like non of your decisions mattered.

Priest imo is a fundamentally broken class design wise. Blizzard has attempted to fix it with recent changes to the priest classic set, but they still haven't really dealt with the issue. Games with or against priest are usually one sided. Either they have all the tools to steal your stuff and destroy everything or they don't. So either the priest gets run over before turn 5 which feels bad or they win around turn 25 by making the opponent feel like no decision they made all game mattered which also feels bad.

Aggro vs aggro is much more like who win the bingo of best starting hand than anything else.

Midrange vs midrange deserve a lot more respect than the braindead aggro matchup but...

Nothing get close to the absolute intelectual and skill patamar of two glorious control master race titans fighting each other, the mental challenge, preparation, adapt capabilities and vastly superior strategy is something far beyond what a feeble mind of a dirty aggro peasant can understand.

I think yog box and dragon queen would like to have a word with u

If you don't mind the extremely important factor of whether you go first or second and how determining that is. Also the extremely impactful factor of the opening help on deciding who wins. Does that not change the mind.

Its important, and some games you just high roll or get high rolled. If I am honest only 1 in 5 games are actually interesting because either I high roll or the opponent high rolls. I think that is the case with all meta decks though and being able to get to that 1 in 5 game is probably also why I prefer aggro over control

I never felt like control had any decision points it always felt like did they draw the removal if yes they win if no they lose. The control v aggro match ups mostly feel like pure rng. Except for some edge cases. But the control v control match ups also always felt like only 1 or two decisions actually mattered

posted a message on I've Made Legend. Now what?

I hit legend for the first time a few months ago, been playing since 1 night in Karazan. I am pretty filty casual i still don't have a any clases at 500 wins although thats partially because I used to play arena mostly. I can't speak for you but I never really cared to invest the time to hit legend before, and mostly I just try to build stupid meme decks thats was the case b4 legend and after.

My list of favorites this month included librim otk paladin. And Sgt sally undataka paladin. Both with/without the quests. And aggro priest.

Unless you are a pro this game is not competitive and even if you are a pro the ladder really does not matter. Just set what ever goal u want to set and have fun.

IE win one game by getting lethal with the last kalidasaur.

posted a message on The Aggro v Aggro mirror is the best game of hearthstone. CHANGE MY MIND

I am an aggro player mostly in wild. generally my favorite deck is pirate warrior with burn shaman as a close second. The current disco lock and mech hunter are also in my top fun decks.

I finally realized why this is the case. The aggro v aggro mirror is so fast, so intense, and so skill testing it just does not get any better. You have to identify  every turn if you are the control or the beat down and it switches multiple times per game, you have to identify  what the opponent  is trying to set up for on a turn by turn basis and then set up to counter it. I just lost a close match against odd demon hunter followed by a win in a close match against mech hunter. both games were incredibly exciting and interesting and almost every turn had 5 or 6 major decision  points. (Games were at Diamond 6 btw)

posted a message on All-Star Squad is This Week's Tavern Brawl

It's literally the only playable deck. So every game is just a coin flip on who drew more pogo vs the loser randomly drawing 1 or 2 non pogo cards
