posted a message on Acidmaw/Unleash the Hounds

Acid Maw ist not a must remove minion. It can actually backfire quite badly aswell since it also makes it incredibly easy for your opponent to clear your big minions (As I found out the hard way in tavern brawl => just one ping of the mages hero power and your 5/9 is dead). So if your opponent just floods the board with small minions and you cant get rid of your acidmaw on your turn it actually becomes a liability.

Also after the tavern brawl I find acidmaw to be too expensive for it to make it into coompetitive play (although I like the playstyle of control hunter).

posted a message on Revealing Cards for the new expansion

I seriously dont see the problem. If you dont want to see the cards before, dont look at them, if you want to see them: look at them. Everybody wins.

I personally like to see what i get (and especially buy) into.

posted a message on TGT also coming to Arena first?

Not only arena, I strongly believe that the next tavern brawl will revolve around TGT. Maybe something like "all tgt cards are unlocked: have fun!"

This would allow people to experiment around and get hyped on all the possible new decks (beast druid, totem shaman etc.) and when the expansion actually hits I believe the pack purchases would be even higher (since you would want to play that deck right away again)

Now that just wouldnt change anything. The players that are ahead would still stay ahead.

They already introduced methods to help beginners (classic pack for winning  one brawl, another classic pack for watching a friend win etc.)

I could get behind some kind of beginners stimpack for 1 week that doubles your gold gain but there is seriously no problem otherwise with the game and its definately not unfair for beginners (you simply just cant expect to have a perfect deck after a week and reach legend the same way you wouldnt expect to in ANY OTHER GAME)

posted a message on [TGT] NEW DRAGODIN - Dragon-Ramp Control Paladin

hmmm... yeah Alex could work, in aggro matchups it could give you the extra heal you need and possibly help you finish off your opponent. Although note: Alex is the only 7+ atk minion in your deck (bgh says hi), maybe better replace her with Tirion? As you say yourself this deck has no real finisher and rather wants to outvalue your opponent and lets face it Tirion is value incorporate and I still believe with 8 dragons the sinergy should still be good.

Otherwise I really like this deck, potentially ironbeak is also a bit of a tech choice depending on the meta and could be changed.

The thing that doesnt quite convince me yet about coliseum is that, atleast if I think about my control warrior games brawl is quite often (if not mostly) used to remove their biggest threat (and hope for them to get out of it only a low value minion or a friendly for you). I can see this card being a bit of a dead card in Control matchups but yeah I do see the potential you talk about, it just has to be tested.

posted a message on [Speculation] TGT RELEASE DATE - AUG 18TH!!!

I also believe it will be the 24/25th

The tuesday patch actually means in my opinion that we will see a Tavern brawl in the sense of: all TGT cards are unlocked => have fun! Which is a great way to get you hyped on the new cards by playing around with all the cool new legendaries etc. and will probably make you buy all the more packs if yo dont get the cards you played around with.

I also believe that the cards will be available in Arena first like last time to make you burn some of that pack money aswell.

Sorry but I dont think bolf is good in this deck and also not good against aggro. Against aggro its basically a: 6 mana heal for 9, it doesnt do anything against their board and most likely dies on their turn by just going face. Id rather replace it with a second tuskaar jouster.

Also, evem though I like eadrid, I would still prefer Tirion over him.

Enter the ColiseumI am still not 100% convinced, against aggro decks its definately great, just gonna have to try it out and see (as a one of I think its fine though)

otherwise I think the deck is solid. Man I hope dragon pala finally becomes viable (although in the low ranks it still works quite well now)

ps. burning pala i dont like your deck, too heavy in the end game and no early game control

Wow this card is really awesome o.O vanilla stats and taunt would already be good (looking at you Frostwolf Grunt) but with the battlecry its just out of this world! the value!

Dude this card is awesome! Slow Dragon control decks were having huge problemswhen playing from behind in my opinion (Hungry dragon was basically unplayable against aggro with board). I think Dragonpaladin just got playable with this!

posted a message on How much do you believe "time restraints" impact your rank?

I mostly have time to do the daylies (in general have always 2-3 quests up at a time) and maybe one day a week i find time to play an extra 10 games. By the end of the season im normally rank 5-4 but I do believe that if I played more than the odd 20 games a week I could go higher (the winstreaks help a lot to go up the ranks to 5).

posted a message on Making Joust good - calculations, theories and a solution to the draw=loss problem

One important factor you have to take into consideration is that you also mulligan for low cost cards in the beginning turns, something that has a greater effect on decks with few low cost cards compared to rush decks (making jousts better for control).

I think the second point under suggestions is already true: the joust cards are good enough by themselves in control matchups (were for example the heal of the paladin jouster doesnt matter mostly) and really good against rush decks (in other words you dont need to make a deck to win jousts against control).

In general I feel though that its too early to realy start suggesting ways to make jousting better before it has even been playtested, lets wait and see how it goes (maybe its completely OP and the nerf threads will be piling up in here...)

ps. I think the giants count as their original mana cost when drawn out of the deck, ie. 12 or 20 (similar to other card draw mechanics like the paladin card: dmg=mana cost)

posted a message on TGT makes my head hurt.

Agreed, dont go crafting any cards in the first weeks (especially legendaries) and wait for the dust/hype to settle and see what actually comes out as being good, i.e. let the pros do all the work for you ;)

    Quote from Orlong jump
    Quote from Leaga jump

Orlong, I'm sorry to be so rude but I'm just gonna say this as bluntly as possible. You're being extremely ignorant if you think that all existing players are getting upset that they can't play it yet and you're being even more ignorant if you think that an expansion doesn't bring in new players.

Almost every single game that puts out an expansion, regardless of if it includes a graphics upgrade, shows an increase in its player base after an expansion. Those statements are so off base that I honestly think that you're trolling. If you aren't trolling then you just need to take a deep breath and realize that Blizzard isn't going to do anything for no reason. They aren't going to do anything just to mess with you or its fans. It is doing what it thinks is in its best interests for the game. I'm sorry if that doesn't cater to what you want but what you want isn't necessarily what's best for the game. Take a break from whatever is stressing you out and relax.

Expansions may see a rise in players but its only the players that stopped playing and come back. They would come back to check it our regardless of how its marketed. You see it as hype, and I see it as Blizzard  holding up a metaphorical box saying look what we have and you cant have it neener neener neener.

Yeah because the number one aim of a gaming company is to annoy its customers (hey lets see how much we can fuck with our customers before they all leave, that seems like something worth investing time in...).

Dude seriously, learn how basic marketing works. I'm a biologist and have never had a course on economics or business but its still pretty obvious that what they do works => since literally EVERY company does it and the more something is talked about on social media / different pages the more people get to know about this. Your argument that expansions only attract old customers is just not true (i for one know people that started after BRM, because they learned about the game from the BRM publicity) and even if it was true: how would old players get to know that an expansion is coming out for a game they stopped playing if not through massive advertising and presence in social media? Not everybody frequents gamer pages etc. I for one have no idea what games are coming out nowadays or what is to come, I learn of some games by chance when surfing through the internet.

I for one like the card reveals and the hype train. I even prefer the trickle down of cards to a card dump since it gives me more time to analyze each card by itself (since I dont have or want to invest 2-3 hours to analyze 130 cards at once).

posted a message on New Priest Card - Confuse

Wow that sounds really funny. Could make for some crazy finishers (since priets prefer high life minions) => 12 dmg yseraa, 7 dmg blademaster etc. I guess only time will tell if a deck with it is actually playable.

posted a message on Will Garrison Commander replace Armorsmith in CW?

i agree with the others. Armorsmith is important for early game => great against hunter to remove early threats and also a pseudo taunt target that aggro players have to deal with thereby giving you technically atleast another extra 4 life just through its body (+2/3 armor).  In addition cw has allready enough ways to gain large amounts of armor through shield block and shieldmaiden.

If anything I can imagine Justicar Trueheart replacing a shieldmaiden/shieldblock but I dont see a spot for the garrison commander.

On a sidenote I also dont see a palce for frost giants in Control warrior (since you mention it briefly). An 8/8 in the lategame for 3-4 mana just doesnt do enough (in the early game its basically unplayable) and I wouldnt take out any of the heavy hitters to replace with it. Frost giant has a place maybe in combo decks that want to do a lot in one turn, cw doesnt need to do that.
