the biggest thing that helped me was watching HCT's in 2018 which is the year i started playing.  Watching all the best decks from different kinds of players and seeing the different ways things can go is better than watching any one streamer, IMO.  That probably doesn't help much right now because this expansion just came out, but keep an eye out for the events.

If want to add me I don't mind watching some games and talking about it, I finished top 500 legend the last couples seasons but I still dumb plays sometimes and I haven't played a lot of these new decks much.  Bumping token druid to legend right now, currently rank 3.

Understanding the fundamentals of the game is probably the most important thing.  Knowing when to play for tempo and when you need to take risks to swing things back, how to play around opponents decks and hedge resources against them.  You get better at playing every deck when you understand these things better.  When i first started playing I often focused too much on comboing things out and synergies when I didn't realize how much tempo mattered.

It sounds like a big problem you're having is finding a competitive deck that you really enjoy.  Having a deck you love is super important in my opinion, because it makes you WANT to learn things about it.  It's not easy to just take the highest t1 deck and pick it up because if you don't give a shit about it you won't learn the nuances of it and what makes it win.  Shudderwock shaman was my favorite deck but then they nerfed it.  After that I really started to enjoy deathrattle hunter and that is what I was taking to legend in Rumble.  Right now I like Big Shaman and Token Druid.  Big Shaman is suuuper fun.

Bro. I would LOVE to be friends. Just PM me and we'll share usernames. Yeah I could definitely use "tutoring" i guess .

Decided to go with bomb warrior, and it still must just be that I am not good at this game haha. Stuck at rank 19 zero stars.

If you want to have fun then just play and have fun. If you want to climb, then watch a streamer play ONE deck against other meta decks and take note of their mulligans against specific classes and how and when they use specific cards and combos.

Also, play with one of your friends that is a higher rank then you and have him watch you and analyze your play.

Yeah, I don't really have any friends who play Hearthstone, so that one isn't really possible currently. :^(

I just feel like I'm always stuck in super low ranking 20-15 , I want to climb higher, but is seriously feels abysmal sometimes. My issue is I want to play decks, that in my opinion, are more fun than competitive yet you'll go nowhere playing a fun deck. I had the same issue in Magic the Gathering as well actually haha I would ask friends online what they thought of a specific card or deck idea and I would always get "that isn't competitive" . So yeah I've definitely always like fringe deck ideas. But, what are some good decks for climbing right now? I have tried Murloc Shaman but...that is way too boring/linear. I enjoyed playing Dragon Paladin but you definitely get stomped every two games you win one. I tried bomb warrior once and somewhat stale seeing literally everyone else use it. I keep hearing bomb warrior is decent for ladder tho.

I really want to know what I have to do to become even a semblance of decent at this game. Perhaps someone can "spar" with me and tell me if I am just misplaying constantly. I was really hyped about the new expansion and especially things to come, but I can't say I find any of the decks swarming ladder right now to be super fun or anything.

I've been playing my list for the last hour and, I know that games this early aren't indicative of the whole meta, but it is just disgustingly strong. The last three games I played were against secret aggro paladin, murloc shaman, and espionage rogue, and I ended the game with over 50 health/armor each time.

Awesome! I'm messing with some other lists currently, but yeah bombs are awesome! I think everyone is gonna slot in weapon removal this expansion though. A lot of weapons being used I feel.

I think it will have to go the more aggro/mid range route as control decks will run Archivist Elysiana so you can't really play the "fatigue" bomb warrior as it has a tech card that is good in any fatigue match up

If you are facing deck which can go to fatique scenario you just leave ellek, goblin and weapon till the time they will play elysiana

That is what I was thinking, just proper timing.

I feel like Sul'thaze is necessary. When you equip it, the enemy can take 16 face damage, meaning 3 bombs to finish if no armor and you've been unable to face any other time.

There may be room for Sul'thraze for face damage, but I don't think that it is necessary--in fact, if you are going face, each Wrenchcalibur deals 18 damage, compared with Sul'thraze's 16 damage. This is sustained if you Upgrade! both weapons (Sul'thraze deals 25 damage [5*5) while Wrenchcalibur deals 27 damage [3*4+3*5]) Consider the following midgame curve:

    Turn 3: Clockwork Goblin

Turn 4: Wrenchcalibur + attack face

Turn 5: Augmented Elekk + Upgrade! + attack face

Turn 6: Elekk is dead, you attack face

Just this exchange (4 cards in your deck, each of which is a double) deals 11 damage directly to the opponent's face (3+4+4) with your weapon and shuffles 5 bombs (25 damage) into the opponent's deck, dealing a combined total of 36 damage if they get to fatigue. In short, if they don't heal and can't kill you, they are dead with just these cards alone, and you haven't even played half your bombs.

In an ideal scenario, your Elekk isn't dead on turn 6 and you play the second Elekk alongside the second Clockwork Goblin, shuffling eight more bombs into their deck, for a total of 13 bombs by turn 6. Assuming that they are drawing normally, this means that 13/33 cards in their decks are bombs and they are statistically likely to be dead by turn 10.

Given this, I don't think that the additional damage from Sul'thraze is really necessary, although it could help against certain decks.

Oh man...all this bomb shuffling is seriously getting me excited. I have never wanted a deck to work more than this one. WHY ISN'T RISE OF SHADOWS OUT YET???? Also Kripp's new video showcasing bomb warrior was super fun to watch I recommend you check it out!

Okay, I see, would you slot in just one Sul'Thraze?

Do you think anything else needs to be done then? No way to know what will work till it all releases, but we can speculate it to perfection all want.

I will echo the sentiment that I don't think you want to run Supercollider.

The focus of this deck is a 4-mana weapon. Why do you also want to run a 5-mana weapon? This really gunks up your curve. In particular, if you're running Upgrade.

I think you could reasonably run Sul'thraze because your two swings of the Wrench will be done by then. Or Woodcutter's axe, because your two swings of it are done before the Wrench. But Supercollider comes at the wrong time in the curve.

Sul'Thraze ...hmmmmmm very interesting! I like the option better than Collider actually!! My only issue now is that I have no idea how to fit in the things I want to use. :^/

Edit: Actually, now you got me thinking, is there an argument for Fool's Bane in a wild setting?

Supercollider is, independently, a really great card, but running it with two other weapons and upgrade creates a conflict. Supercollider lets you set up a clear to dissuade a large setup, but it doesn't let you play another weapon. This means that drawing a Wrenchcalibur or Upgrade while you have a supercollider set up means that you have a dead card or must forfeit the remaining value of the weapon. Additionally, Bomb warrior isn't an odd warrior, so it doesn't have as much armor gain to balance the cost of hitting minions.

Do you think anything else needs to be done then? No way to know what will work till it all releases, but we can speculate it to perfection all want.

I'm surprised how many of these decks aren't running Supercollider. I think that would be a good card to help clearing the board.

Actually, I originally had this in my deck, but wasn't sure I had room for it. Maybe I'll reconsider!

Yes, attaching another mech to it is the idea, but you are only running one magnetic mech in your deck (Zilliax) and no omega assembly. This means that you won't be able to reliably attach another mech to it in most game states. If you are running a more defensive game and have some Bronze Gatekeepers, this would make that card more consistent, but I don't know if you have the space

Bomb Warrior ever was a thing?

I mean...just generally in the sense of playing control and throwing a lot of mines into the deck from Iron Juggernaut. I seen Dane play it a little in wild. So not exactly the same, but same general gist.
