Boss Overview
Mine Cart is the second boss in the Uldaman wing of the The League of Explorers adventure.
The Mine Cart fight is much like last week's Temple Escape fight where you needed to defeat an encounter by surviving a number of turns. Below we've got all the fun cards you'll encounter within this scenario.
Pro Tips and Strategy
- Your deck is premade in this fight and contains special boss-specific cards. These cards are:
- Minions: [card]Spiked Decoy[/card], [card]Mechanical Parrot[/card]
- Spells: [card]Boom![/card], [card]Dynamite[/card], [card]Consult Brann[/card], [card]Repairs[/card], [card]Barrel Forward[/card]
- Everything your opponent, the Mine Shaft, summons is random as is done so via Flee the Mine!.
- Minions: Chasing Trogg, Debris, Earthen Pursuer, Lumbering Golem
- If you get overwhelmed by 6/6 Lumbering Golems on turn 1, there is nothing wrong with conceding.. unless you have a double Boom!
- You can play two cards on every turn, so choose wisely.
- Parrots can trade excellently against the Chasing Troggs and Earthen Pursuers. Hit into them as soon as possible and follow up with a Boom! or yet another attack to get rid of them.
- Only use Parrots against the Lumbering Golems if the Lumbering golem will die that turn. Otherwise, you're going to take damage anyway, you're better off trading against something else.
- Save your Barrel Forward cards until near the end or if you have nothing else to play.
- Don't use your Hero Power unless you have a guaranteed chance of killing something.
- There are no differences with the fight from Normal to Heroic.
Rewards
Defeating Mine Cart for the first time will reward you with cards!
Once the regular version of the card(s) is unlocked, you can craft the golden versions.

2nd try. It's just random luck :)
Same, second try. RNG can be a problem, but for the most part if you save the "3 damage to all enemy minions" when you have too many 4/6s on the enemy's side of the board you'll be ok. Put up as many taunt minions as you can, use a 3 card pull any time you can to give you options, use the heal for 10 cards any time you're under 20 just to give you a few more plays. If your RNG is horrible and all the minions are 4/6 just restart. It's not worth wasting your time. *shrug*
Try get them all to 3 health and AOE them all save skip turn cards for three turns from exit
1st try wut
20 games, 20 losses. I'm done for tonight.
At least, the Temple was a fun and clever encounter. This one is BS.
My first try I was swarmed with the 6/6 golems and couldn't do anything. 2nd try I got lucky with an almost full board of the 2/6's. They do so little dmg it's better to let them stay on the board so there's no room for 6/6's to spawn. I just used parrots instead of the decoys so I could leave the 2/6's alive on the board. Save your booms for when you absolutely have to use them to survive (do the math), that way you can clear more troggs at once. I used the taunts as necessary. Good luck!
Pretty straightforward as well. To be honest, with the detailed explanation and the general suggestions made here, I got it done in a snap.
Pff I didn't really pay attention and wondered why there was no guide (for heroic) so I made my own freeze mage and then I was not so happy when I entered the fight. Still won though since it was very easy anyway.
easiest boss ever)))) or i'm too lucky)
beat it on 2nd try, glad rng is on my side
It's often overlooked but heroic version of this boss is more likely to spawn dangerous minions than its non-heroic counterpart. Also you should use your hero power instead of constantly run out of cards, unless you have more draw and AOE clears still in your deck.
Seriously. This is dreadfully frustrating.
In heroic it doesn't spawn debris.
this is just foolishness, I dont even see where this is supposed to be fun to play
It is absolutely NOT 100% RNG and there absolutely is a strategy to it. If it took you forever and you think it's 100% RNG then you won by getting lucky and not using your brain. I've been able to replay and beat it at least 1/3 times over and over.
Nonsense. I've given it a bunch of plays since the first time I beat it and I've got around a 50% win rate now. If you're smart about choosing your trades, you can often win even with a poor opening hand. And of course, bad trades will ruin even the best hands. It's an exercise in making good trades and planning ahead; I think it's pretty neat.
worst encounter ever
Just stupid. How blizz thinks this is fun is a joke.
this challenge is no fun at all.
full RnG
Play this in the background; you'll beat Heroic no problem.
