Had to log in just to say this: Inner fire combo isn't good by itself, there are times where its "ok" but then it immediatly becomes bad again as people starts playing around it. What makes it good are cards from other expansions, like the 2/3 sorc apprentice that priest has right now
in general I think the entirety of classic should eventually rotate out and a few cards from other expansions should make a comeback, but since that isn't happening I see no problem with Inner fire combo staying in the game.
What? No! Jade Druid was ultra trash before UI, despite having a high number of people playing it, the winrate was one of the worst a highly-played deck had in all times (below 45%, one of the worst decks ever played by a big majority).
Only reason Jade Druid became so strong is because UI not only made it better, it also fixed quite a few of its problems.
And yet, back in December 2016, Jade Druid was ranked in the Top 4 of best decks for the meta and was used to achieve Rank 1 Legendary.
Not bad for an "ultra trash" deck... ^_^
first week of msog? I mean cmon first week decks aren't really known for maintaining consistency.
Just look a few weeks further, its at the bottom of tier 3 and it stood there for months until the release of knights of the frozen thrones.
don't try to back your bad argument with meaningless first-week meta deck shit, the deck held the worst winrate ever documented on a highly played deck, and no random "but I still like it" will make it not happen.
Druid was never gone, Jade stayed Tier One even after the nerfs
I don't think Jade has ever been out of top tier since its inception. Pretty compelling evidence that it has always been way too strong.
Blizzard's half-hearted attempt at a soft-nerf with Skulking Gheist was laughable at best. And now with the addition of Malfurion and that "0-Mana 7/7 for teh lolz" , it's gone from overpowered to plain stupid.

It's not worth it to discuss "sometimes-might-maybe-happen" scenarios in which this card is "ok" and not just terrible, this happens very often in both here and reddit.
this complain shows up every expansion after some time into it, and it will always exist.
my advice? take a break, hearthstone is only meant to be played competitively by people actually competing, otherwise you're better off playing other game.
if you hadn't included the bolded part i'd take issue with you, but minus the exaggeration that's been basically my thought since he was revealed as well. i don't think he's bad by any means - indeed, he can potentially be insane; but that's something you can say about a lot of cards - but the DK cards are very hit and miss. only a couple are good in basically any situation while most of them have serious drawbacks or are potentially unplayable. so overrated, yep. but i think there are many cards that have been way more overrated. not a must-craft or a must-include but certainly playable in many mid-to-control decks.
What I said when I mentioned "long time overrated" is that people are still saying its OP or #1 card in the game. I even saw a Hearthhead guide posted today saying its the "Tier S best legendary in the game" which was the reason I made this post in the first place: People haven't realized it is not that good yet
Since the release of KFT I have been having ferocious discussions with some friends of mine regarding the card I believe to be the most long-time overrated card in history of Hearthstone: The Lich King.
Basically I have been saying that the card is not as good as people think, and that eventually everyone was going to drop using it on their decks in favor of actual playable cards, but I was constantly being talked back by my friends saying that I was completely wrong and that it was seeing play.
As the HCT tournament and lists got revealed, everyone (but me) was surprised The Lich King isn't being run in even the most controllish and greedy of the decks.
While I admit TLK is indeed a finisher, those exist in Hearthstone in abundancy, and there are just way too many cards that are better than TLK. So, while you can use it in your deck since saying it "sucks" is just me exagerating it is no where near as good as many people made it out to be or still do.
Do you mean you rate him as playable and not meta defining or he is meta defning but he still isn't as good as people think. Personally I think the latter. I think he is meta defining but not some god card people think him to be.
I think he is good, but not as good as people think. I rated it as playable. Its a slightly worse ysera that costs less than ysera herself.
Death knight cards are slightly worse than dream cards and there is the possibility of a "dead draw" between the DK cards (you cant "dead draw" on dream cards), also the stats distribution is far worse, but then its an 8-mana card which makes it a lot more playable than ysera because she costs 9 mana. Overall its playable, but only a few decks will want it and those decks have other "finishers" to choose from so they don't necessarily need to run this card (I'd rather play the class DK Hero Cards on most classes as the value is guaranteed)
Edit: Another thing to note is that for some reason people end up always thinking grindy "clunky" control decks will be the next thing on the meta and it usually never is, I cant help but think everyone is overlooking the big aggro tools added this expansion yet again.
Thinking about a way I'd want to play The Lich King, I came up with the likelihood of wanting to play him together with YShaarj and Barnes, so maybe this is a cool place to start(If Fighting too much aggro, swap Glimeroot for Tar creeper):
Be patient in using them though. If they have 2 5/5's on board, take that 10 damage like a man. Next turn they usually develop a full board for you to kill over and over.
When you pass the turn and the quest rogue already has 2x 5/5s on board:
With experience I can tell that this tip is wrong. if you pass the turn you're super likely to take at least 15 damage from hand with charges. You're always better off clearing.
Maybe it's because i come from MtG but i love in depth strategy articles. I've found very very few Hearthstone in depth strategy articles period, so I would love more of that.
I think this happened because of the number of randomess applied to the game, that constantly diminished the amount of skill to determine the outcome of a game. I remember back at classic I used to count cards a lot and there were a lot of mind games behind, nowadays I basically just hope to "get lucky" with my rolls.
I used to write a lot of deck guides back in the day, but the demand for them diminished greatly so the focus shifted into simply showing people the lists and telling them why its good. Nonetheless, its still very good to know that this kind of demand, despite smaller than the others, still exists! Makes me happy!
