I REALLY enjoy Hearthstone! I play, watch, and read just about everything I can about it. Ive been player for about 5-6 months and in my opinion im just above average .However I would like to get better and would like some help from you, the community on just how I can become a better player. ANY tips will help. If anything at all I hope I can meet some cool people to practice against. Thanks everyone!
I find that allot of players don't look past the current turn. Most good decks rely on a couple of cards being played in sequence. Think a few turns forward be prepared to loose some health if you have to. It's allot like chess.
Also think about what cards your opponent has played and what he may have in his hand. Try and draw out his cards so that when you play your card sequence of cards they deliver that deadly blow
I also encourage you to make your own decks, but look at published deck guides for inspiration about combos, how different cards can interact with one another, etc. As far as tweaking your own deck goes, I think a lot of players will mistakenly give up and throw out decks they have created when they lose a few games. It is better to identify exactly what is not working in the deck, and make little adjustments over the course of several games. This process is ultimately how great decks are developed.
Right now im at 18......don't judge hahahaha. I usually grind for the lvl 20 card back and gold to open packs. I enjoy seeing what I can get from the packs and how I can incorporate the cards I get into the decks I have or even make new decks!
Are you using anything like Hearthstone Deck Tracker or Hearthstone Tracker?
Both are separate applications that let you track statistics based on your decks.
I'm probably close to your situation in how long I've been playing, maybe I'm closer to a year, but I just set up my first tracking application and I have to say it does help.
You can see what you've played, what's left in your deck, and most importantly you can see what your OPPONENT has played.
Case in point, the other day was playing against a Rogue. We hit turn 7 and I check to see what's been played and I notice a lot of her straight up damage and combo cards had already been used, leaving her (probably) relatively minion heavy. So I threw out a Sludge Belcher and tried to bring out their board. And next couple of turns I get their Azure drakes out as well as a few other 1 and 2 drop minions.
Which I wiped with the AoE I held back for just such an occasion, and then dropped one of my bigger hitters.
This wasn't anything I couldn't have done just by paying close attention and keeping the details in memory, but having that aid there to help SHOW me what was going on in the game proved a boon. It also shows me what decks MY deck are weak against, as it tracks all your wins-losses, against what other classes, how many turns the game went etc.
Apparently I'm weak in the mirror matches, I eat 'locks, Hunters, and Rogues for breakfast, I'm about 50/50 against Paladins and Shamans. It's a rich tapestry...
I am a bit like you Fairbiscut. I have been focusing on Arena to gain better cards. The arena has helped me in understanig how different cards play that I do not have and let me try them out before I craft them. A question for tempest where do you find the tracking apps I play on an ipad is there tracking apps for ipad ? Thanks

To add to MikeDR667's point. Decide what you are going to do for the next 2-3 turns with the cards you have in your hand. Don't rely on a lucky draw to fill your next turn's mana curve.
Also helps alot if you post your decklist. Alot of helpful people on the forum that have played their classes since beta that can give you tips. There are a lot of "trap" cards that look really good on paper but just are bad in reality. Getting past picking those cards can be a huge step in the right direction.
Lol. I'm trying to make the worst deck possible and see how far up the ladder I can take it, considering I haven't played much the last 2 seasons I've dropped to rank 18 or something.

I played Hunter before it was cool.

For stats, check out Hearthstats.net. You can enter in your info manually, but there is an application that will do it all for you. It's very handy.
For the deck tracker, check out Hearthstone Deck Tracker.
There are others, of course. Those are just the two that I use at the moment.
Check out my motorcycle blog at ShiftHer.com ...or not.
far too many x1's too be even moderately consistent, and doesn't fit 'zoo' at all
I smell troll.
Ah, now, an iPad setup I have NO familiarity with.
I doubt it's available as an app.
The programs I referred to are all PC based applications.
Not the right thread. ..
Thanks Hotax. I deleted my reply to that truly horrendous deck.
