Saw a thread of the most underrated cards and thougt it was a cool thing to discuss. But what about the cards that are just flat out overrated? Cards people praise when in actuality ur extremely lucky if they work. I guess ill start with mine being sylvanas. Now i know this card can be insane in reincarnate shaman and handlock, but really u have to kill it the turn u play it or they play around it. Many decks are running silence which makes sylvanas crap. Many ppl play aggressively and can just use hard removal then kill what sylvanas stole easily. The card can be good, but in my opinion its taken a huge decline. So theres mine. What r your most overrated cards?
mine is dr.boom. sure he is almost an auto-include in most decks but sometimes my boom bots only hit face for 1. The card can be good, but in my opinion it's taken a huge decline. So there's mine. What is your most overrated cards?

i see what you did there but u almost made that legit convincing lol
lol. thanks guys. i thought copying the exact same sentence minus the spelling mistakes was enough. :P
Dr.Boom isn't overrated and neither is sylvanas, i think! Certainly not the most overrated card.
I think my vote goes to Fiery War Axe it took 2 pros with views of between 500-10000 on stream to play with only 1 fiery war axe in their grim patron decks, before the rest of us considered that maybe having two was detrimental to the deck.
First thing that came to mind - and I am going to get roasted for this - is Ysera. What? I must be crazy - hear me out though. Slow cards are much less effective in a hyper aggressive meta. Ysera is the definition of a slow card. I know its an auto include in most priest and warrior decks, but in this meta, its effect is too slow as many games are over by turn 9 anyway.
Before the TGT release, I thought Varian Wrynn was overrated. I still stand by that. He is, at the very best, an optional addition to a CW deck. I never thought it was bad, I just ddin't ever think it was a top tier class legendary.
Everyone seems to talk this card up but whenever I See her or play her I just end up thinking... "wow what a waste of six mana
Card rarely seems to shine anymore.
Thing is that it used to be one of the best cards in hearthstone when the meta was slower, in a similar way to Cairne Bloodhoof originally being one of the best cards
I pulled him in a pack, and just don't wanna run him... I don't like that he is 10 mana, and I don't like that the battle cry can pull out some stuff I wanna play from my hand...
I am liking Rhonin a bit better than I thought tho. ...
Varian Wrynn. It is a nice card, but it is still slightly overrated, it doesn't guarantee the result, so if you need taunt, maybe you'll draw 3 cards. If you need draw, maybe you will over extend the table and risk the sever of a Lightbomb.
I think most of those cards you listed offer a job that is very required to their decks. You do not run Ysera or Sylvannas to beat aggro. You run them to beat midrange-control matchups. If the meta is aggro, they are not overrated; just not as useful.
Varian wrynn on the other hand, is only useful versus slower decks and versus slower decks, you don't want to lose some important cards or overcommit to the board OR overdraw to go deeper into fatigue. So Varian Wrynn being a card you run versus mostly control, it is not that good versus control. That is the definiton of an overrated card I think.
I still can't believe some of you listed slam, fiery war axe and death's bite. Those are super good cards in every matchup.
ValueTown#48 discussed about Rhonin being an overrated card as the expectation was too high when TGT launched. For 8 mana, it does almost nothing when played and its deathrattle won't has immediate effect, concluded by the casters.
IMO, when Rhonin is played, your opponent anyhow need to respond to it no matter how. It is still considered as a board pressure.
BTW, off topic, how to type in cards keyword in the forum, showing the Card Image when the mouse cursor moving on top of the word? Could anyone teach me how?
Death's Bite - sure, it's an amazing card, but during some torunament I saw casters claiming it's single the best card in the game considering value it offers in its deck. Have to strongly disagree with that statement.
Shade of Naxxramas - it really isn't that important in Druid anymore. I saw people dropping it completely and still having great results, I play only 1 and I'm totally satisfied, while some people claim 2 is difenitely a must. Well, it's an option, but for sure not a must.
Slam - sometimes you draw a card, but do nothing else with it, if you don't have enough dmg/Execute to finish things off. Sometimes you don't draw, but kill something, but then you have 2 mana for 2 dmg, while other classes pay just 1 mana for such effect. Never liked this card that much, I run 1 and generally prefer other cycle cards.
Death's Bite was not the best card in the game, it's the best card in the Patron deck. And they may be right with that, if you are able to Harrison Jones a Death's bite the Patron gets a lot of problems.
I would say... TGT Shaman... remember how it was going to be the new "OP" Class.. :(
I even pulled The Mistcaller from a pack and got super excited only to learn it really is not that great...
for Overrated cards I have a weird tech one, Kezan Mystic everyone started adding them in to tech against the secret Pally decks, but in reality it is a bad card against pally and really only great against mage, possibly hunter.
I know, I will get flak for this: but I never fell in love with Zombie Chow [/card]and [card]Haunted Creeper. The first is dead late game and early game I never seem to get good trades for it. Usually, I try not to offer a good trade and kill it off for 5 life after I have taken some damage. The latter I simply don´t like for the poor trade opportunities with just 1 attack.
Don´t get me wrong, both are obviously good cards and I use both, they are just not the auto-includes for me as for most other people...

Varian Wrynn maybe ya...

Nightblade Argent Lance Flame Imp
Argent Watchman Argent Squire Frost Giant
Aviana Hogger Snipe Sea Giant
varian wrynn is still to me a pretty overrated card......

if anything, varian is underrated right now. most people hate on it and it doesnt see much play, although its very good in an adjusted deck.
Mad Scientist
