If it makes you feel any better, I just rekt an Eboladin with a Handlock. My Earthen Ring Farseer, 2 x Antique Healbot, and Lord Jaraxxus totally saved my ass there. He was 1 off and then 2 off from killing me. He rage quit after I taunted up some fatties.
Stupid lottery facehunters. I had 8 life and I was 1 turn before lethal he had 1 card in hand played sergeant played topdecked quick shot that got him animal companion and guess what? Huffer lol. And he got just 2 more mana for heropower... fuck this shit.
Get top-deck quick shot into top-deck quick shot into top-deck kill command played against you, then get back to me. If freeze bolt gets alot of a heat, a draw for the same cost and damage is just bonkers. As is a free guaranteed-synergy draw from a webspinner. They automatically have 32 cards in their deck, don't need to play any draw mechanic, kill you by turn 5, and can't possibly get a bad starting hand.
Also aggro cards are BY FAR the most efficient cards in the game. Just look at all the death-rattle... then they make Lil Exorcist and it's supposed to be the counter? Uh huh sure that's what happens.
Don't even get me started on abusive sergeant. Almost a guaranteed 4 dmg for 1 mana.
The worst thing to me about cancer hunter is it pretty much counters all the other starts... very cheaply, and very early. Strong single creatures against it? Freeze trap. Swarm against it? Explosive trap or UTH. It's a sad state of the game when all anyone can tell you counter aggro is "just be more aggro then them". Taunts are too slow, too expensive, and too easily countered. Why does all their removal have to cost 2... or even 0? And how can you possibly get a bad draw when all your cards cost 2? GG.
I've been toying around with control Paladin decks and finally accepted the fact that brain-dead aggro Shockadin is just superior in every way. Good job you fucking idiots at Blizzard, I like how you made face decks stronger than decks designed specifically to counter face decks. Play your own game much?
Perhaps you were toying with a wrong set-up (mind to link the one you've tried?)? Or you are just bad with such a deck. I play Control(ish) Healadin and don't have a big problem with face decks. Yes I lose to them from time to time but it's really not that bad.
No it's not just me actually which is why control pally has practically disappeared from tournament play and is rated far below Shockadin by every meta report I've read. I thought with enough creativity and fortitude I could design a Control Pally deck and prove the naysayers wrong, but it's a fools errand. No matter how hard I try to go against popular opinion, the truth is they are correct, Control Paladin does suck and most definitely has a lower win rate than Shockadin. I understand you say you're doing well with it, but that certainly doesn't change anything I've said. I'm a little angry because of how Blizzard screwed up the class with BRM. It was fine until then.
Pardon me for asking since Im a fairly new player but if the previous meta "favored" control and late-game decks, was everyone getting sick of that too? In other words, no matter what the meta, arent there always going to be people that get sick of it? I would think so. Might be wrong though. I think the problem with aggro is that it does shut out many of the cool late-game cards and the relentless face attacks can get tedious.
That being said, it IS fun to play as Face Hunter or Shockadin. :)
In MTG, you can respond and play instants in the opponents turn so it is a valid strategy to pass play back to your opponent with mana open and a ton of counterspells in hand. In Hearthstone, you cannot do anything in the opponent turn so if you pass without doing anything with your mana, you fall behind. (unless you have great comeback cards that demolish the opponents board like Brawl for example)
tl:dr: do not compare MTG to HS, the lack of instant cards/immediate response is to great a difference
not to mention the locked in guaranteed manna for both players. aggro is a hell of a lot harder to pull of without a standard manna curve. honestly tho saying HS is a shitty MTG is the best comparison you could make. way better than all the poker ref i always hear. makes me vomit in my mouth every time. if only MTG GUI was more user friendly. HS's quickness and nice polish make it a good game, its lack of consistency and strategy and inherent lean toward aggro pretty much kill it. Basically as a mobile user i only have one choice, so everyone get in here. ^_^

You didn't even understand the point that was made. It wasn't about leaving mana up, it was about how in magic DRAFT you can miss turns and land drops and not instantly die, whereas in hearthstone, you are basically dead. Miss a 2 or a 3 drop in arena and that's usually game over.

Like 70% of the complaints in this thread stem from people getting face-rushed. In fact almost every single game of hearthstone ends in this stupid way where the winning player completely ignores the board and just goes face.
It's so boring and it's what everyone hates about the game. The bursting and the face-rushing. It's devolved to the point of memes in streamer chatrooms lol. They scramble to try and address this, but the base design of their game really doesn't allow it.

Join the club. Ive been bouncing between being an unstppable force to a complete pushover. I either have the game won by turns 6-7 OR Im done even sooner than that. I play an aggro-Hunter deck, a Druid mech deck, and sometimes a mid-range hunter deck. Its crazy out there.
Your win rate seems good to me - I cant hit that. I get stuck at about rank 15-17. Not sure if its all me or just crappy card draw. ????? Probably both. :(
