I've been "saving" since Knights of the frozen throne. What I mean is I have never spent my gold down to 0 for packs. Last time I did that was KOFT because I loved everything about that expansion. I have 38k at the moment and I'm quite excited about Uldum. Love the return of quests. This one will make a big dent in my gold hoard
I save every single coin between sets so I don’t have to spend any money on expansions I live in Canada so the cheapest pre-order is $80 plus tax and the other one is $110 plus tax that is way too much money for my budget. right now I have 8400 coins I love blowing all of the coins on opening day of the new set. It’s always Epic.
Funny how in these forums the vast majority are oh I have thousands of gold, when that clearly isn't the reality. Just another reason to show these forums for understanding patterns are entirely worthless.

“Clearly isn’t the reality”? What presumption is this? I’m sitting on 3kg after blowing it down to 0 for the PvE content. My wife has over 20k as a F2P player due to her playing daily but hardly spending anything each expansion.
Do not assume a reality simply because you cannot conceive others are different than yourself.

Not being rude, but it's not presumption, stop being disingenuous and use your brain. Of all the people who play hearthstone is it even mildly plausible that even HALF the player base has the amount of resources talked about in these forums? And these forums always have way more than 50 percent of people stating they have big numbers. If you honestly can't see the simple point that it's not representative of the larger playerbase you'll never engage in reasonable debate.

Yes. Considering we’re not talking about “the playerbase” we’re talking about a self-selected universe of players invested enough to A. Have hearthpwn accounts and be accessing the forums and B. Be drawn into a discussion clearly asking about gold savings.
Would it be disingenuous to find a high percentage of people responding to a Business Insider article on retirement management have robust 401ks?
You can understand patterns from a biased selection base as long as you are accounting for those biases.
I spend far more time on the Hearthstone Discord than Hearthpwn and the discussion of “how much gold do you have saved?” is not infrequent. But there you often have screenshots to dissuade any misguided assumptions that people are for whatever reasons boasting about what is really an average amount of gold. Again you find that a significant number of players have thousands of gold going into a new set, seeing as how that is an optimized strategy and players hardcore enough to be spending free time discussing the game they spend their free time on tend to be drawn to optimizations.
If it weren’t for the PvE content costing gold this time around, I’d expect many more people up in the 7-8k range, where you’d expect anyone who plays daily and knows how to maximize their gold-to-playtime ratio.

I'm currently at roughly 13,150, and silly as it sounds, that's still less than it could have been, because I blew much more on RoS than I should have.
Anyway, I'm still debating whether I want to push for 14000 before the expansion launches. Technically possible, since I'm also sitting on 3 quests, but it would mean to grind about 50g per day for the remaining days, and I don't really want to play that much right now.
I have 3g gold saved up. Didn't buy the bundle because it's to expensive for me. How about you?

Nah, I'm not into that.
8k by the release day
Like 2500.
Last time I saved this much was Frozen Throne. Other expansions were just open packs and never play. Roe got me back in the game thou.
Should be around 2.300g when the expansion gets out. Im a full F2P-player and use all my gold for packs until the next expansion gets announced.
