Blizzard revealed a good dragon legendary for mage! what do you think about a realy good mage dragon deck after rotation? maybe they finaly will give us a working dragon-support cards for mage?
Dragon Mage is probably going to be a thing. Year of the raven has some decent Dragons and Dragon-synergy cards. Firetreee Witchdoctor has amazing synergy with Kalycgos.
As much as I’d love to see dragon mage, especially with elemental mage rotating. But dragon mage won’t be official without an actual mage card that says “if you’re holding a dragon” or “your dragons do this”. Until then, it’s the shame Dragon mage pipe dream as now. Just replace Kalecgos with Sindragosa
Can Dragon Mage survive long enough to even play the card? Right now, the answer is no. Have to see what else gets printed.
Right now? No. After rotation? I think they'll be able to.
When I say "right now", I'm not talking about this Meta. I'm talking about after rotation without assuming some amazing cards get printed for Mage. With rotation, Mage is losing Meteor, Dragon's Fury, Arcane Artificer, and most importantly, Frost Lich Jaina. This is fatal to the Control Mage archetype.
It is possible that Mage gets a boatload of cards in the x-pac, similar to what Warlock got in K&C. But failing that, I don't see how a Mage deck planning to play a 10-mana card is gonna work.

Mage had control decks before the year of the mammoth you know ? Blizzard, Flamestrike, Polymorph are permanent tools, Zilliax is not rotating.. I don't think mage has ever been a class that has trouble getting to turn 10.
Sure they are losing some healing and won't autowin aggro matchup, and they are losing infinite value HP but that's all right they don't have to fight against quest warrior and DK hunter anymore.

Ye but you had ice block back then (Also please,to Anyone stupid enough to call DK jaina infinite value....stop)

I won't stop, you got my point, nothing is infinite value in the game and everyone knows that. I'm sorry I didn't say "potentially indercosted and repeatable value/tempo generator in the right circumstances that doesn't cost you a card" instead of "infinite" and hurt your feelings, it wasn't my intention.

Instead of trying to Mock me with....whatever you were doing there you should try using your brain toghether with your eyes when you Read
Sure, our reality has no Place for infinity as our resources/time/lives are limited and i get that jaina generates a LOT of stuff during a game, but still, infinite value in heartstone means cards that can keep generating useful resources until the game Is over, jaina Is limited in that sense as She CAN be run out of options through playing while using more than a single braincell while truly infinite value cards (DK rexxar,Jade idle, you know the ones) can only be stopped by killing them

Again, I'm sorry I used infinite, it was just convenient and I don't know a better word to qualify DK jaina. I know how different she is than other infinite tools, my main point wasn't about jaina being infinite, rather the opposite, that mage isn't losing some absurd value tools like DK hunter/warlock, and with a strong basic/classic set with multiple tier 1 control tools, will be fine as a control class in the upcoming meta, even if Kalecgos is the only improvement for the archetype (it probably isn't)
technically it already does, check out Zalae's value dragon mage.
Aside from that, yes, why not? Dragon Mage currently does not really have an identity outside of "mage including dragons"
Firetree Witchdoctor is a great early game card, especially for MAge, Twilight Drake works well in any deck that usually tends to hold onto cards to cycle them (Arcane Intellect, Book of spectres, the aformentioned Witchdoctor) and Alexstraza, Ysera, Malygos and now Kalecgos are all perfectly viable choices to put into a mage deck and get value out of.
Maybe we can do Minion-heavy book of spectres build with Mountain Giants, Voodoo dolls, etc. Maybe you can even do an ELemental Hybrid version with Arcanosaurs?
Or we go a combo-control variant where you run Kalecgos, Malygos, Alex and Luna'S Pocket Galaxy and effectively try to bait your opponent out of removals and burn them for lethal down the line or hope for a galaxy high roll. Probably not consistent, but that'S what they said about Clone Gallery.
I would love a Dragon Mage: I've been trying to make it happen since I bought Blackrock Mountain. Will it happen? ...we'll see; printing Emeriss and Carrion Drake in The Witchwood didn't equate to Dragon Hunter becoming a thing. I'm not getting my hopes up this early again.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
I'm just going to say, really thankful this card didn't come earlier, because this would have made the spiteful summoner pool better in some ways? Spiteful summoner turn 7 into free from amber or mind control would have been pretty good.

I think a high cost spell Mage would be a better fit for Kalecos. Maybe pairing him with Archmage Antonidus.?

Exactly this.
Last time mage got a decent legendary dragon too Sindragosa. Not every dragon card instantly hints towards a dragon deck, you know.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
Primordial drake is huge in standard for any dragon deck. For a mage dragon deck to work I think some support dragons are very much needed.
That being said it’s ‘Year of the Dragon’ and I bet before the year is up there will be a tier 1 mage dragon deck.
compare this 10 mana dragon with other 10 mana cards in hs history... card sucks
primordial drake is gone
