Seriously, Odd Warrior seems to be the only deck in the game that screams "control", and can ACTUALLY deliver. I crafted two Reckless Flurry's, a Brawl and two Shield Slam's (I already have Baku the Mooneater) and went on a 15-4 streak.
Yeah sure, I can spit out free wins by going to my Secret Hunter or Odd Rogue deck, or crafting myself a Zoolock in 30 seconds, but that's not me. Sure I'll spam these decks if I want gold for packs or feel in the mood for free wins, but sometimes I wanna work for them.
Nope, you play ANYTHING else than Odd Warrior (Dragon warrior, control Warlock, etc), you get slammed by aggro-heavy bs or combo decks in 9-10 turns (if you get lucky).
I understand no one likes long games, sure. But either make the game worthwhile and fun for every play-style, or admit you're slowly promoting brain-dead "fill the board" or "hold off the enemy until I get the one card I need" type of gameplay.
With the recent nerfs I'm able to play BSM again, my favorite deck.
Control decks usually have a higher winrate then aggro, but games take so much longer, that climbing is still easier with Aggro. Hence why people play those decks. Play whatever you like, it's a game ;)
Yep, here we go again. The same tired 'observations' from the control camp. People who don't play control are inferior. Control is what the clever people play. Even though they nerfed control killer Kingsbane into oblivion I need more nerfs to have fun. Do aggro and combo players make threads like this to bitch about the game state - nope, just the poor, victimized control camp. Control may define itself as the be-all end-all of high-caliber gameplay, but no one else is buying what you are selling and other playstyles don't see the 'problem' you do.

Anyway op i think you are wrong, control is not dead at all, control warrior as you said, and control mage(big spell) are very strong. As it is control warlock but the thing with control warlock is that the deck has remained the same for 1 year now. Even i, a warlock fanboy, got fed with it.
Control is not dead at all, but the current control decks are as boring as smorc decks and that says a lot. Smorc deck has been always braindead but current control decks are as braindead. As for the combo decks... well it's the 1st time in hs history that they managed to become the most braindead of the triad lol
Skill comes down to individual decks/matchups. Control/aggro/combo aren't any harder to play than the other inherently and if you think so you're probably really biased and silly. Playing odd warrior against aggro is about as skill intensive as playing the inkeeper. Not saying the deck doesn't require skill because it does in certain matchups but not against the kinds of decks it's designed to beat.
That said, Control priest/odd mage/big spell mage are really good in the meta right now too. In my opinion they're actually better overall climbing decks because they can actually put out a bit of pressure so OTK decks can't farm you. Aggro isn't as much of a free win but you're obviously still very favored. I did quite well climbing with control priest. The new dragons did pretty well to fill the blank spots the deck had and the lack of druids was really nice.
Honestly I think odd warrior is bad for the game. It's just way too polarizing and whenever it's popular it pretty much forces people to not play board decks and to play insane value things or OTK.

I am not gonna disagree with the rest of your post because you are right, but here my friend you are wrong. All bots and mean ALL bots have been and are aggro. This proves beyond doubt that smorc decks are the inherently the easiest. But yeah as i said you are right, all existing decks in hs at the moment are braindead to the point of drooling.

I don't see how that proves anything because bots aren't people. Bots are aggro because aggro has the shortest games and because they're proactive and not reactive which I would assume is easier to code but i don't think that makes it easier to pilot.
I don't honestly know that much about bots though. Do they just smorc face? do they make value trades? hedge resources or play around aoe? if not then it's just a simple "play one drop, play two drop go face" coding and that isn't actually how you pilot any modern aggro deck. You could make an odd warrior bot that just hero powers and plays removal on the biggest thing and AOE on curve and it would have similar results.
It really amusing to see these so called control players talk about skill cap.
Odd warrior vs odd warrior is a no more complex than zoo vs zoo. It's all about knowing your matchups, keycards and strategy. Then it's a question of how long the game is. It's incredible how narrow minded you so called control players can be.
And yes I play aggro, midrange, combo and control (e.g my only golden class is priest) but I love the diversity of decks and their various strategies.
Get off your high horse and accept different playstyles.
Control Mage and Warrior are incredibly easy to play and strong because of the big amount of op removals and board clears they have. Nonetheless, they are boring.
If control decks would mindlessly throw their removals like aggro decks throw their minions then they would lose pretty much every game but hey, control gameplay actually requires some thinking, I guess some of the smorcs on this forum don't know what that is.

if you play aggro by mindlessly throwing minions then you are a really awful aggro player.
There's a difference here,if as control you waste All your big removals you Just lose against aggro no matter what,on the other hand if the aggro player mindlessly lobs monsters at you until you stop moving he IS playing his deck really badly (yes i do sadly admit that such a thing as a skilled aggro player Can exist) but he Can still win if the opponent doesn't IMMEDIATLY draw his boardclear AND healing/armorgain
That i think Is the main difference here, they both Can Be skill expressive but One Is more punishing than the other when It comes to mistakes

And here we have another classic example of a hypocrite control player who thinks control is the only worthy playstyle HS has to offer.
Control is not hard to play.
Actually looks funny, you say about braindead and at the same time you play Odd warrior.
Man aggro players are so easily butthurted lol.

… hey, aggro-players - from the last 50 games I played (and tracked), 38% were huntards - how can this be balanced?
Aggro peasants saying control decks are easy to play is because the subtetly of this supreme strategy is far beyond they can understand. :P
BSM can Control fairly well, as can Dragon Priest.
Hell i am sure Shaman can Control just as well.
You want to work for your victories, you can do it with a series of decks. Just try and deckbuild.
Unless what you truly want is just seamlessly bash at whatever your opponents' moves and think yourself clever while doing it...
In which case you will stay forever disappointed, and for good.

Control decks will go back to their original form once DKs finally rotate (looking at you Deathstalker Rexxar)

Control is not hard. I just went 18-3 with odd warrior. Wins are basically free with that deck

Yeah, you're right.
It take so much brain power to play control optimally.
All the control players are smarter than Einstein and Tesla combined.
