Whiners everywhere. No meta is entertaining for you.Even with 10 aggro and 10 control decks in tier 1-3 meta is bad.C'mon
A lot of the frustration that comes out in threads like this are not that there is an issue with the meta, but there is an issue with the game as a whole.
30 card decks with 30 health is just a starting point. Small decks, small HP leads to two issues: aggro will always be a pain, because games can end before they even start. Losing a game on turn 4 or 5 is just stupid, and it is poor design. The devs have increased the power level of the cards substantially, but there has been no compensation for that in the game.
"Cheating" out cards early. This mechanic just screws the game. When you consistently can pull cards that were meant to be played on Turns 8-10 on turns 3-5, that just warps the design of the game. If this is the direction they want to go, then give us earlier hard removal.
I would write more, but I am late for an appointment already, so I'll leave it there for now

I would agree. I actually think the biggest issue is that as player 1 you start with 4 cards... This is actually pathetic, and part of what maintains curvestone. They've actually helped this some by adding some more powerful draw cards, but it's still not good enough. THey would have been better off by starting everyone with 1 or 2 more cards.
You do buy 100 cards anyway, probably way more even. Opening 20 packs gets you 100 cards. But you don't end up saying "woah, I have a HUNDRED new cards!", instead you say "meh, I got a mediocre legendary and just one good epic", because out of the 135 cards per expansion, very few end up mattering.
Opening 20 packs gets you 100 cards? I tend to get like 80 and a bunch of dust.
Not to mention, if 100 out of 135 should be good, you still need 2 of most of them, so its more like you need 190+ cards to get them. In order to get that you will need to buy a bunch of packs, which as i pointed out is hard for FTP and even budget players. You probably end up not getting all those 190 cards you'd need, so you need dust which is a very expensive way of getting those cards as you need 4 same rarity cards to get 1. As you mainly end up with extra commons and rares, you'll need even more.
Last month i read a post from a guy who wrote he had to buy 200 packs to get all cards from the expansion and some people doubted he only needed that many. Considering one would only need 100/135 i'd expect 25% less packs might allow you to get them all, but thats still 150 packs. Say you get pre order, is 50, then along with your gold you probably still need to buy another big order of 60 packs at 70 euro. Thats about 120 euros combined, which in my book is a lot of money for a budget player.
Hence, if thats what happens a lot of players will quit this game for sure.
What do you expect, Mammoth failed to accomplish the goal of the standard format. It's already boxed-in to the point where the third expansion has little impact. Better luck next year. The should probably focus on keywords and synergies and stop making gimmicky content that suggests a particular build like spell hunter. Let the players come up with the builds - they are better at it than the game maker.

Unfortunately nerfing Corridor Creeper and a couple other cards won't change the fact that this was a really underwhelming expansion. There are almost no new strategies to play around with. Devs really dropped the ball with K&C, so far my second least favorite expansion (only because TGT can't be beat in awfulness)
Really after un'goro and Koft the bar was set impossibly high. Two of the best expansions ever. If they got a koft-like expansion again that would have been cool but it's actually quite unlikely also considering that it's the last expansion of the set so they have 5 other expansions to compete with for deck slots
I would agree that this meta has been very meh. I was just telling some friends I'm having trouble finding a deck I can enjoy these days. I even spent the $50 pre-ordering this expansion (and KotFT, as well). I've been very unlucky in which legendaries I've acquired haha (mostly warlock legendaries, and only the priest dk - I might maayybe enjoy Highlander priest, but I'm missing a hundred cards for that).
I'm having a little bit of fun with mill rogue, but that's about where it ends haha. There's just too many legendaries and epics compared to other expansions that really make any deck competitive (without those, you just get crushed and die). Even that aggro pally requires quite a bit of dust for an aggro deck.

The meta is fine. The higher you go up, the more optimized the decks become, thus ''boring'' for some people. It's always been like that and it always will be like that.
A problem I foresee is, if the balance changes don't hit any Cubelock cards, then that deck will still be around in full force come rotation, as it loses virtually nothing. Priest loses nearly everything they have right now, but Warlock will keep going off their current/new stuff. Tempo Rogues and Mill Rogues also don't lose that much, but Tempo Mage loses all their Gadgetzan-gotten Secret stuff. Not to mention that all of Jade and Patches itself are going in a few months. Just wait it out, but we may see some things stay the same.
Your talking about a deck that is not teir 1 deck, only causes problems to aggro decks. And only half the time, when they get the taunt in time. Vs control can be out tempoed. So not really a problem deck, the Warlock zoo has better winrate.
One of my favorite expansions solely based off the fact that dungeon run is a blasty blast. Standard meta isn't all that boring actually. There are viable and highly played aggro, control, combo, and midrange decks. Am I missing something? Every class except for 2 have at least 2 viable decks (viable does not mean top tier).
Yeah , and the fact that the HCT championship dekcs are warlock, priest + other 2 classes out of witch its mostly druid and rouge doesn't contradict you at all.
And why others are saying its boring
1.Cause of Op cards and a game is decided which of the 2 players draws his op card first /or op combo first.Your being punished for having a bad draw/ him having a good one and losing by turn 4-6 cause of it
2. Cause you can't experiment at all,not only is ranked full of meta copy pasta decks but so is casual to a 80% degree . Now here some will tell you "If you want to experiment go to wild" Ignore the fact that players in wild will play cards that don't appear in standard and you need to alter your play style of the deck accordingly , not to mention the shift from casual and wild casual is something like Hard to Very Easy giving you again inconsistent data cause of the huge gap between the game levels
The professional players, playing for MONEY, are using the TIER ONE BEST decks in a tourney??? NO WAY BRO!!!
1. What are you even saying here? I read "If I have bad draw, and/or my opponent has a god draw, it's not fair and I lose". The hell are you smoking man let me have some??
2. You can experiment all you want to. If you want to be the best and Rank 1 you have to play the best possible deck. It's that simple. Take ANY other competitive game. MOBAs if you pick some janky experiment comp you will get stomped. Gotta play whats good, MMORPGs you gotta have the best gear if you want to compete in top level PvP, can't experiment with different sets because you're a super cool creative motherfucker.
Please reread all the nonsense you just typed out and think a little more thoughtfully and logically. This game has a HUGE amount of players. The players will, in time, find THE BEST possible decks to play. All things equal, good draws and bad draws aside, skill level aside, There will ALWAYS be a best combination of cards that perform better than others, regardless of how much experimenting is done. THEN you EXPECT people to not play those when they are trying to rank as highly as possible??? The fuck kind of logic is that. "Hey bro, I know you want to hit rank one legend and stroke that epeen, but could you please do so by experimenting and not playing the best decks?"
Per Tempostorms Meta Snapshot there is a Combo, Aggro, Control, and Tempo deck in tier one right now. Each from a different class.... WTF MORE DO YOU WANT?? If you don't like the decks play that's a personal opinion and have at it but don't say it's a boring meta or people are lazy or whatever the fuck other excuses you got. You just don't like the good decks. That's fine. It's not the metas fault, it's your personal preference to play some crazy ass combo oriented decks and them be the absolute best. JESUS FUCK. Have a lovely day.

My point is: Seems like you reached legend 2 times with pirat warrior bc without beeing able to netdeck a SMORC deck you are shit at playing this game. You are right it's time to leave!
Just curious, you never netdeck yourself? Or are you one of those people who will secretly netdeck and then replace 1 insignificant card in order to be able to claim he isn't netdecking?
Well just matter of opinion considering the fact that there's limited cards so, changing one, should be considered a different deck. Lol, pros do it all the time, and people seem to give them the right to without criticism.
Ie. Dog's version or purple's or whatever they're called, they tinker with already made deck, and it is theirs, so why can't the average Joe do the same?

I think the recruit mechanic is really interesting but poorly executed IMO. The interesting build around combos are too weak/slow and the broken aggro combos are....well...broken.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I agree here. You've got the call to arms that makes non murloc paladin work. Then every other recruit is just kinda like.... MEH.
I mean I get it. If you have a minion that pulls another on to the field it needs to be weaker than the average for that mana slot, BUT most of them are so weak that even a recruit gets out-valued by cards like corridor creeper, bonemare, cubes etc.
Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.

Actually, I've found Oaken Summons to be one of the (other) best Recruit cards in the set. I'm seeing it across multiple different Druid decks, simply for how well it works with Ironwood Golem and - to a lesser extent - Astral Tiger

the issue is that Oaken Summons doesn't work with Ixlid on board, which sucks.
Worst meta ever. Same four carbon-copy decks, same auto-includes for neutrals, 95 percent of eligible cards never see play in a serious game. Poor HS got saddled with the worst design team ever.
Not that the Blizz Defenders™ will ever listen to a negative word about their favorite shiny toy. The responses here being perfect proof of that.
I'm only at rank 13 so maybe what I am about to say won't apply, but it's a pretty balanced meta for me. I'm facing a ton of different decks, many more so than before the release of K&C. Sure, there are good aggro decks, but for the most part, control decks will defeat them. And tempo will defeat control. Etc. It's all a matchup based game, you just gotta build your deck to best suit yourself against a multitude of matchups. Personally I find the current meta very diverse.
