Actually, I quite enjoy most of the art so far. Yesterday with all of the Ticking Abomination de-hype, I started looking into Mike Sass's art. Was interesting to see the level of talent of him and some of the other artists that Blizzard (contracts/uses) for the cards. I see no problem?
I enjoy the less cartoony look of the artwork this time and it fits better with the theme of the expansion. That being said the quality of the artwork does looks worst than the last 2 or 3 expansions.
Not this fucking thread again. I remember this crap happened with Un'Goro. The art for Un'Goro was fantastic. The only art to me that stands out as lackluster is Blood Razor. It's just really plain.
This happens in every set. Some of the cards will have low quality artwork at first because it isn't official. It's just Hearthpwn trying to get the cards out to us as fast as possible and then later it's updated with higher quality art. There's no cost cutting of the artwork going on at all.

We get this topic literally every expansion. If some of the art is low quality, it's because it's been mocked up by HearthPwn.
I'm not talking about the low res caps Hearthpwn has to get until we get the more high def art from the patches. I'm talking about the quality of the artwork itself. High res, low res... these cards look like a kickstarter production.
Even if not all the cards are payable or even good, so far, all the art for this set looks great too me. I think Mountinfire Armor is exceptionally great and can't wait to see the golden art.

Exact same argument as before. The official final artwork is updated into the cards later as we get them. We just don't always get them right away.

I think you guys are looking at it wrong. Don't judge the pictures as stand-alone images on a web page. These images are most relevantly going to appear as icons in a card game that supports mobile devices. Shrunk down, most of the amazing details on cards such as Lana'thel, Moutainfire armor and Putricide are probably going to look like a muddy mess. Images best suited for card art are simple and bold
It might be a personal preference but I don't really like the aesthetics of the non-muddy cardarts either. Not that I really care about the art much. If I were simple-minded enough to judge card games by their graphics and artwork, Hearthstone would be the only card game I play. It's one of the best things Hearthstone has going for it
Seems like Blizzard has tried to cut some costs with the artwork this time around. Seems rather meh.

Oh no, the cards are starting to look pretty good. Quickly, go to step 2: declare that the mocked up versions of the cards look bad.

Btw the nerubian reuses art from the WOW TCG.

Deathstalker Rexxar, Prince Taldaram, Prince Keleseth, and Mountainfire Armor are gorgeous to me and the others are fine.

be kind and considerate
It literally can't be worse than C'Thun's Chosen.

Actually I think it's pretty good. Only questionable art I could find is that Nerub, a little confusing.
Other than that, Warrior's art I think looks fantastic, art that makes me want to draw it.
The background of blood razor feels recycled to me
Well i gotta say, though imo most cards are crap so far, the artwork actually looks like the best i've seen in this game.
Blood-Queen Lana'thel, Mountainfire Armor, Professor Putricide, Ghastly Conjurer or Plague Scientist are awesome arts, especially the blood queen. Even Blood Razor has a good art imo.
