lol you really think the rank 5 floor helps that much? It doesn't.
I sat at rank 5 and insta conceded to anyone that wasn't pirates for over 600 games this season while playing my anti-pirate deck so that's 600 stars generated at rank 5 and that's enough to create another 24 legend players that wouldn't have been their last season. If you factor in the several other pirate hunters I met alone we probably got well over 300 people into legend for free.
i didnt knew there was a single win between rank 5 and legend
I made legend for the first time this season and was never once saved by a floor (didn't lose any games with zero stars at ranks 5, 10 or 15). Maybe I had a couple games at the start of rank 5 that were easier than normal because of lucky players who managed to make it and could no longer fall back, but after that, I don't really see the difference. I think there were more players and a lower deck/play quality as people are trying to figure out new decks and strategies.

Yeah that seems to be the general comment. Maybe it is a factor but not as influential as I thought, mostly it seems it's new expansion hype.
Is there a way to compare the number of people who reached legend this month with the number of people who reached legend the month after other expansions?
i think it says more about how strong some of these decks they forced onto us are. right now we have a few hyper aggressive decks in the meta when control is at its weakest thanks to AoE and healing rotating

ohh i wanna do that now, i didn't think Pirate hunting was a thing xD
Nothing wrong with it. If pathetic low-brained piRat warriors could reach legend easily, then everyone should make it so. You are probably one piRat warrior arent you?
I don't see how it devalues Legend. The grind is still the same bar some people that would have oscillated around Rank 5-6. For them it may be slower or you may lose a few from being discouraged/tilted but I don't think we're talking tens of thousands different.
While it may not be your intent OP, you kind of come off somewhat elitist thinking that more people that make to Legend devalues it in some way.
Thank you for the response. It wasn't from my standpoint I was stating it, I've seen several pros switch servers in an attempt to maintain a high legend rank due to the flooding on the EU servers. So for the pros it's been detrimental (it's a million miles away from affecting me).
I see. I hope then that you don't take the elitist thing as an attack on you personally but on the viewpoint of the people raising it.
From what you said, it just sounds like they have an issue with things being more competitive. Detrimental to them and their ego, perhaps. Detrimental to the game overall...? Also, I would think the Rank floor would have been less of an issue than say the power level of the cards in this expansion. Comparatively speaking at any rate.

As you are all probably aware there are around 15,000 people at legend this month on the EU servers. This is a crazy number relative to the pre-floor days. I would argue that it both devalues the achievement of hitting legend and dilutes the quality of the players at this rank.
Only above rank 5 does it have a significant impact as that is where the win streak stars end. From a purely competitive standpoint I'd argue that for this reason the rank 5 floor should be removed while the others remain.
I don not think the number is relevant to floors but the fresh meta out of the new rotation. I think there are way too many players enjoying the game and most of them bought 50 pack free order and been able to reach legend at the early days of the season
I'm pretty sure we wont be seeing that many legendary players starting from the season 38
I think rank floor is healthy for the game, the increase of people getting legend are mainly those who have reached Legend rank before as most of my opponent from rank 3+ already have the card back. Myself for example reached legend back in April 2016 and too lazy to do it again, so I mainly stay on rank 5 for the chest reward, since they implemented the floor system, I have reached Legend for 2 consecutive months, I just feel more motivated, the rank floor gives me some break, takes some pressure and stress away.
The floors are good. They warned in advance that the simulation showed a lot more people getting legend. The improved match-making makes it a smaller issue as well. They probably just need some cosmetic change to signify "high legend" ranks. Maybe the top 200 is gold, top 1000 is silver, and the rest bronze. Or maybe just a 10%/50%/bottom 50% instead of set number.
I took this screenshot today from EU wild legend, stated 0.25% player got Legend the same as 1 year ago also 0.25%, not sure if this statistic is exclusively for wild? I remember they used to mention only around 0.5% players get legend every month, does the % increased on Standard mode?

Are you just low-key bragging? I mean good for you but at least be open about what you're doing :)

i think more players got legend only because of easier and extremely polarised meta. i get rank 5 each month, and don't interested in going further, so for me floors is okay, if it's helps people with fringe and experimental decks.

People can probably sabotage the ranked system if smb say creates a auto concede plugin which endlessly queues into games and insta concedes if you were to run it for a day you would generate somewhere around 1.5k stars and that's like 60 legend players per day.

The statistic is wrong, things are different now that we have the ceilings, but they did not adjust the statistics.
I believe so, if 2.5k player got legend in 1 season that's more than 10 million active player according to 0.25% statistic.
However, based on this 0.5% player reach Legend every season.
Players already said Legend didn't mean anything when Face Hunter and Secret Paladin were the top of their respective metas.
Getting to Legend still takes a lot of effort and time, especially now that it's very difficult to get above a 50% winrate with any deck.
Rank floors are healthy because it allows players to experiment and play fun decks without being punished harshly, this is healthy for everyone, those trying to climb and those just trying to mess around.

These floors do not do anything for hitting legend. The challange comes after rank 5 and if you cannot keep it, you will not hit legend ever.

Legend x1: 27th season - N'Zoth Rogue only.
The safety net are great .
Once you hit one of those you can start playing decks you actually enjoy without the fear of losin the ranks you worked hard for .
