And as we all know, if a card is playable in constructed, a card is borderline broken. How can a class be allowed to have nothing but broken crap? Mage had the original Tunnel Trogg, and they still have it. They have cards that completely nullify board advantage, and cards that completely nullify burn damage. They now have a better Mad Scientist. And now they have the most overpowered card ever made, Primordial Glyph, so they can get even more copies of their overpowered crap.
So I have to ask, why are all Mage players so goddamn terrible at the game that they can't pilot this overpowered class to tier 0?
mage gets demolished by zoo. Like horrifically mangled, crushed, swallowed, and spit out by the good versions of zoo these days. Nothing to see here, move along now.
Because Mage needs a bunch of really powerful spells because most of their minions suck.
This is a myth. Mana Wyrm and Babbling Book are among the best 1 dros in Standard. Most of their two drops are up there too, especially their 2 mana draw a secret and 2 mana cast Darkbomb.
2- And now they have the most overpowered card ever made, Primordial Glyph
3- So I have to ask, why are all Mage players so goddamn terrible at the game that they can't pilot this overpowered class to tier 0?
1- No way, Mad Scientist put secret in play, you have card and tempo advantage, with new card you have only card advantage, she is really good, the old one is OP.
2- I agree, even Mad Scientist don't have this level of power.
3- Because in this game spells don't is the only thing matters, minions and weapons are very important too, warrior can do the same damage of a fireball with only 1 weapon of 2 manas.
Well, the thing about mage is that it's fucking RNG-clownfiesta.
Like, mage can get dead draws and not get the proactive plays to win. They can also get 5 iceblocks from random cards while playing Exodia Mage and therefore have literally 0 change of losing the match.
Mage is really not okay, I agree with you. But it's mostly because it's Overpoweredness exists in the fact that there is no play around to it.
Before you could play around Flamestrike on turn 7, 2 of them on the deck and all. Now you have to play around a deck with 3 blizzards, 3 flamestrikes and 2 of them cost 2 less. God knows how much burn or secrets or AoE.
There is no counterplay to mage because you have no idea what to expect. Just because a secret is horrible and nobody plays doesn't mean mage won't get 3 of them on the game and therefore you will lose because you would never play around one, let alone multiple copies.
Then again mage can get dead spells and take too long to do something and therefore lose. That's why Mage is never tier 1. Because it lacks consistency in ladder to climb up sooo much. But on Competitive play? Mage is a hell of an unfair class.
On the other hand check Arena where mages have been top class by a HUGE margin for WAAAAAAAAAY too long. They get consistency and the chance of having unfair cards that nobody would play on standard but are great on Arena.
Though that is the nature of the beast I guess. Hearthstone has got quite a huge powercreep in the last 7 months. Every deck needs to have a lot of unfairness and dumb luck to win games and there is just so much of it right now that you can actually expect to highroll your way to victory because one single high-roll is enough to win the game.
Hearthstone needs to tone down RNG and stop breaking it's own rules to playaround stuff

About 1: Scientist is more broken in tempo decks, but in "ice block decks" arcanologist is better cause battlecry > deathrattle in top deck. How many time you have to frostbolt your scientist to draw the ice block? And not always you have this 2 combo cards, right?
The body 2_3 is not a BIG tempo loss in early game too, so i think is noy easy to say how many better scientist is. Maybe wild will tell us.
Ehhh, don't really agree with this assessment. Point 1, they have plenty more cards than those that aren't playable (Spellbender, Vaporize, Steam Surger, Ethereal Arcanist, etc.) Point 2, Arcanologist is arguably a worse Mad Scientist, not a better one. Point 3, Mana Wyrm is bonkers, but besides that yes their minions are terrible. Point 4, they do have some really high power level cards, but that's not an example of what shouldn't be, but what should. Every class should have very powerful cards because the more constructed worthy cards there are in the game, the more diverse the meta is. If their good options were more limited, you would only see the same one or two decks over and over, if you would even see any. That's no fun. Point 5, most of Mage's good cards do the same thing, so as good as they are, they get outclassed by one-another. Not to mention they fail to cover the class's fundamental weaknesses, such as a lack of healing, leaving Mage very vulnerable to burst. Also, Point 6, freeze and Ice Block really aren't that good. Actual board clears and heal are much better. These just delay for one turn each.
Freeze and Iceblock arent good? What are you smoking dude. Those cards make (one of) the strongest deck since classic.
I agree with the OP so far, that the corecards are way too unbalanced and need a complete overhaul which i expect with standard rotation 2018 or 2019 latest.
if only there was some card that was created to tech against secret users. if mages get too strong and all over the ladder people just tech against it, also the ladder is getting more and more filled with paladins wich counters it pretty well.

Seriously. I'm looking through their cards, and out of all their Standard cards, there are just 5 that aren't constructed-level playable. Shatter, Greater Arcane Missiles, Cryomancer, Servant of Yogg-Saron and Anomalus.

Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
Salt thread <-- thataway.

Gasp.
Whoever heard of a Mage having good spells?

That'll do, Huffer. That'll do.
I love how people bitch about Quest Rogue and aggro while playing Coin, Wyrm and Image on their first turn.
And that is your Mage player. Everything is braindead and autopilot except for them of course.
move ice block to hall of fame too ez
