I thought with the new Expansion and the Standard mode, Aggro will slow down a bit and people will play more Control decks. I was very wrong, because who would of thought, Shaman is once again, Overpowered. I had Cancer, and this new Aggro Shaman with the new Cards (4 Mana 7/7 as example) Just gave me Aids combined with my Cancer. Is Blizzard trying to keep Aggro alive? I'll admit there are some good Control Decks, because i love Control, but there are so Many Face Shamans and Tempo Warriors. WTF? Tempo Warrior? What do you guys think...
The reason for aggro decks to be so great in hearthstone is how highly effecient 1 and 2-drops are, you can out-tempo some of the better control deck with a deck just made out of small minions with low mana cost. A quick example of how effecient a 1-drop can be is Abbusive Sergent, right now it's a 1 mana 2/1 that gives + 2 attack, if we scale it up to 2 mana it would be a 2 mana 4/2 that gives + 4 attack, at 3 it would be a 6/3 give +6 attack and so on. There is ofc the fact that you run out of Cards much faster and that each Card has less value, but none of this usualy matters when your opponent dies between turn 7-9.
Also aggro shaman has a 4 mana 7/7 so there's that... Should be nerfed to either 5 mana or a 7/5..

1/2/1 is the stats for a 1 costed minion in HS. 2/4/2 is really good as a 2 drop, and meh as a 3 drop. 3/6/3 is really good! Lastly, his ability is increasingly scaled as well?? You're looking at these numbers with a rate of change as x2. I'd look at them with a rate of change as +1. So it'd be a 2/3/2, or a 3/4/3 and all the ability has is +2 (doesn't scale).
Just saying, Abusive Sergeant is a powerful 1 costed minion, but it's not equivalent to a 3/6/3 battlecries +6 attack. Dear god that's OP. More on topic, 4/7/7 is crazy solid for it's stats, for sure. But it dies to premium removal. And I mean PREMIUM, not just some stretch with a board state and burn damage, I'm talking about Polymorph, Hex, Execute, Siphon Soul, Assassinate, etc. Aggro Shaman is an easy matchup for me when I'm playing with my Dragon Control Warlock, or pretty much any mage deck.

I know that it's propably aint the right way to scale it, but the thing i tried to say is that 1 & 2-drops are really good tempowise - If you're trying to kill your opponent fast you'd much rather play two 2-drops at turn 4 than you'd play a single 4 drop.

4 mana minions hardly qualify as "Aggro" (more "Midrange") and, even if they did, it is still slower than the old school Face Hunter decks where minions topped out at 3 mana so the meta indeed did slow down.
This is the classic case of mindlessly pitting all the cards/decks you dislike as "Aggro".
Imo what makes Aggro dominant is how cheap and efficient it is, I dont think aggro players are having fun with aggro decks but 90% of playable control decks are so expensive to netdeck, that's why people choose to go aggro if only control decks were as cheap as aggro everything will change.
I thought standard was going to be less aggro too. I play Ramp Druid and I've been getting rekt by zoo so I just put in some 4 mana taunts and it works fine. Like the guy above me said put in tech cards or just cards to counter them. I also play Mulch to help with the 7/7 4 mana shaman cards.
Standard would be balanced and Wild...well yes would be wild. The meta never slowed down and aggro will always be there since it makes Blizzard the most money ( easy winfix, low skill). The Zoolocks and the Shamans are the new ebola-spammadins. There are a lot of folk out there loving this game, but die inside because of the kills in 7 turns. And really I can't see why people say that aggro is good for the game. Please explain....
It would be a good thing if the were an only aggro game mode and an midrange/control game mode.
In a moment of activism I would say: free midrange/control from the pestilence called aggro. Aggro is like a desease. Very bad for the game.
Here we have someone with 0 understanding on how balancing works. Without aggro every deck would be a greedy mess. The decks with the most lategame threats wins. Aggro is needed for a balanced metagame but alas instead of teching against it you bitch and whine that you can't beat rather predictable decks. Not to mention there are like tops 2 top tier aggro decks compared to multiple control and midrange decks.
I think a lot of people are playing rogue or some form of combo OTK deck which beats all control but warrior. Then aggro/tempo beats those decks. But control doesn't do well enough against aggro and midrange to even it out. So it makes more sense to stick to rock and scissors and skip playing paper.
So on ladder I see nothing but shaman, hunter, tempo warrior, patron, freeze mage, and rogue. Maybe dragon priest. I don't see control warrior, priest, or Nzoth paladin ever. Then the easiest to play is face shaman of those. But I'm guessing the OP is considering zoo and tempo/midrange to be aggro?

While not as simple as you put it that's kinda the jist of it yeah.

Because It's not a bad thing for the game.
edit: But I agree that 7/7 is bullshit
Signed in blood.
Because without Aggro, there won't be Control. If you want to know why you can go see the other 999+ threads regarding the same subject.
Wow, an aggro-whine-thread. This is new and exciting.

There must be diversity in the game. Plus, if you control deck cant counter early agresion than there is something you need to improve.
My opinion is that meta is even faster before WoToG

It's for the good of all of us
Except the ones who are dead
But there's no sense crying over every mistake
You just keep on trying 'till you run out of face
And face damage gets done
And you make a neat gun
To go face against people who are
Still alive
Still alive
