Is it worth to buy the expansion 50 packs during the promotion via real money? I think the cards revealed so far is far worse compared to TGT's cards..so what u guys think? 😶
From my opinion isn't worth it , if you have gathered gold and got some dust spared for it nah , keep the money only , but also if you can spare the money then go for it :) so 50/50
Depends on why you are playing. Purely to rank up on ladder? Probably not (just craft what you need from the set). Playing because you enjoy HS and want to try out new fun cards? Then absolutely. Playing for both reasons? Definitely, if you can afford it.
Well, earning enough gold for 50 packs the free way takes me like a year on average, so for me it was a no brainer. Think of the cost split over 12 months and its basically free anyway :)
It is a good deal, it is allways fun to open packs, and you get to start playing all the new cards, before people have find out which 10~20 cards that are competitive.
But if you have a few thousand gold, then just use the gold.
Not a good idea. You can get the cards you need for whatever deck your playing by disenchanting the bad cards you have now. I would also wait a few weeks to see what is good.

just my opinion
if you play once a day and get the quest done that is about an average of 60 gold a day (50g from quest 10g from 3 wins)
Thats 21,900 gold a year!
I am terrible at saving gold but when they announce new stuff I put my mind too it, I am still getting the pre-order cause I only save gold when things are announced but I should have 95 packs on launch 50 from pre-order, 42 from gold, 3 from logging in.

A year is a bit too exaggerated, you average 50+ gold a day, so it's about 3 month or so. I started saving when wotog was annouced and just hit 5k gold.
Does it worth it? We dont know, we only see 1/2 of the cards. Wait to the end of april and judge it.
This x-pac isn't very big in terms of card pool Buying 50 packs will probably get you all 134 cards i think it is or pretty dang close to it. That being said getting 100g everyday for a month will get you 30 packs and that's just as good, so if you have 50 bucks to burn on a bunch of data and code then go for it if not keep saving gold till the launch date and buy packs with gold. So in terms of worth it's all personal. Do you have the time to do a 40g quest then grind 18wins for that 100g gold a day, or do you have 50 bucks to burn on a virtual card game. Look at all the cards they have shown in the set so far then decide if it's worth it.
The way I see it is if you ever think you will be buying packs of WoG then buy them now. Bc you get more packs per dollar now plus you get a card back you can't get any other way.
You should probably base you decision on the economics of the deal and not the apparent strength of the cards revealed so far. The fact is that good or bad, standard or wild, these are the cards everyone will be playing. For me, a dollar a pack is the best the deal typically offered. I am actually bummed I can do a multiple pre-order.

Not even kind of close, I preordered TGT and got a total of 4 legendaries (2 sets of duplicates of course, but you may be more lucky.) If you have Naxxramas/a few gvg cards and want to play standard I would not preorder since you are getting a load of dust if u disenchant all those cards. What I learned in TGT is to be patient with crafting though (The Varian in my collection isn't being used too often.), wait at least a week before crafting new decks.
I only play ladder. I can count on one hand the number of times that I have run an arena since GvG came out. I do my quests every day and I am sitting on 17,000 gold. I thought I'd be able to continue to play free if I bought 80-100 packs at each release and got the one adventure per year as long as I kept doing my quests every day.
That 80-100 packs that I thought that I would spend on Whispers is down to 40-50 and may drop further. I dislike the theme and I am not terribly impressed with the cards so far.
I have thought a lot about this. I have expressed the opinion (here and elsewhere) that this expansion seems like the most underwhelming out of all expansions and adventures released so far (minus a few great card exceptions). 45 euros also seems a lot - I could spend that on a million other things. However, due to the following, I have decided to preorder it, which will be the 1st time I will preorder an expansion:
I will be left behind in terms of card collection while almost everyone else will be adapting to Standard very quickly with brand new decks.
I want to increase my chances of getting some of the legendaries and epics that are the stars of this expansion. I have a bit of dust, around 4000, but I want to save it for very special crafting circumstances. My gold is not spectacular either - around 1800.
I want to think about new decks immediately. I see it as a mental exercise, without necessarily the need to ladder up (I am writing my PhD and usually don't have the time to do that).

For me, content is everything, not the economics of the deal. I mean, getting more packs as a bulk preorder and saving money wouldn't matter to me as long as the content is mediocre. However, due to the huge changes coming very soon, the situation is different, as noted in my arguments above.
Really does come down to personal situation and values. I've saved up enough gold for this expansion. Plus it is a fair amount of money and I'd personally put that money towards a new game or something coming out later. But nothing wrong if you want to spend the money on this expansion. You don't have to get something tangible from every purchase out there. Buying a game on steam doesn't get you something physical and like was said above going to see a movie doesn't get you something physical, but you get enjoyment. If you enjoy busting open card packs and having a lot of cards to play with as soon as the expansion hits then that can be worth the money spent.
Getting back to the original topic...is it worth buying this expansion? Maybe. We haven't seen all the cards. But on the other hand if you want to play the standard format then any expansion is going to be important to get some cards from. There is going to be a void felt with Naxx and GvG not being part of standard decks. You can try to fill that without the new expansion, but I'd like to have some cards.
I'm not going to buy packs with cash, but I can understand those who do. I think there are enough fun cards already revealed that we should get some entertaining decks out of all this.

50 packs normall = $60
50 packs with release = $50
worth it
