Lucky for me, I got a golden Onyxia in a pack this morning. I'm a free to pay player with only a few legendary cards, Hogger, Foe Reaper 4000 and Dr. Boom,
I was thinking about dusting gold Onyxia so i can get another legendary, but I'm not sure which one to go for? I've been looking at Gazlowe, Sneeds old shredder, ragnaros, and the illidan. Are there any more I should consider?
I'm not too fussed on golden cards for a collection, as being F2P i'll never acquire them anyway.
I would say hold onto her. She isn't in the 'useless' category, just the 'not used often, but still good'. You can make something else which is good, but you have the Dr. Boom and she might get some synergies coming in the new adventure.
Hold onto her for now, unless there is some other legendary you REALLY want.
Edit: I advise against crafting Illidan and Gazlowe. They sound good on paper, but in practice they fall a little short. Sylvanas is the one you should look at, depending on what decks you play.

That's a tough one. Normally I'd say never dust a dragon, but Rag, Sneeds, Gazlowe, and others will probably give you a lot more wins. Unless you're going after a complete golden collection I'd consider what deck you want to make next and craft the key lgdry for it. Worst case you can always earn another 1,600 dust.
Also as a F2P player i would suggest DEing. I had a normal Onxyia and DE'd her and have not looked back, and managed to craft Sneeds and Dr.Boom because of it, so i would definitely get rid of a golden legend that tbh, you're never gonna use and that dust would go to a lot better use if you crafted one of the legendarys you don't have but want/need.
You're so lucky, I wanted to craft golden Onyxia xD well, you could keep it or you could d/e it for a more useful legend, but I recommend to keep it because it's a rare occasion to get a golden one and you might not get the chance again (in 15 months of playing HS I've got a single golden legendary, I had to craft the 2nd one)
The adventure coming out has a large dragon presence. There MAY be some synergies that she could actually become good with. You should know more by tonight after it's announced. Might be best to wait and see.

Even with Blackrocks large dragon presence i do think that DEing is the best course of action, especially for a F2P player, but yeah, you should maybe wait a few hours until they announce Blackrock to see if it convinces you to keep her?
I highly doubt it though, and Sylvanas is just too good NOT to have in the game no matter what expansion....she will always be a staple card in the meta and control decks, i wish i had Sylvanas.... no worries, only 1100 dust to go!!
Thanks for the responses, guys. Going to hold onto her for now until the new adventure is announced, but I am leaning towards dusting her and getting myself Slyvanas, Looking at most of the constructed decks on here, she's just pretty much universally, so it would probably do me will to switch.
At least play a couple of games with it before DE (it is sort of OK in a very greedy control warrior build, and is very dangerous in a token druid deck). Golden onyxia covers your board in golden whelps which makes it pretty much the biggest bling card in the game.
No. First of all you don't dust a golden legendary, because in your tenure of playing HS over time you will collect pretty much all the cards you could want, but a gold legend is so rare that you might never come across it again. But another reason is because adventures and expansions are always around the corner, cards that see less play today might become VERY viable tomorrow. Finally, it's just not a bad card period. Unlike Noz, Millhouse and Tinkmaster, Onyxia is not a trash card. Even now, it has workable applications in Shaman and Druid decks due to the bloodlust/Roar combo potential. Also it should be noted that Onyxia has strong synergy with Sea Giant if timed right (play Onyxia when you have a minion on the board, fill with whelps trade out the minion you had and play a free Sea Giant).
Onyxia is a decent card even without the new dragon synergies. She's a particularly good fit for a combo/token druid, but she'll work just fine in any control deck—anywhere you would put Ragnaros, you can put Ony and she'll essentially fill the same role (a little slower, less immediate impact, but stickier vs. BGH and other hard removal—it's not true that she's weak to AoE; it's actually very difficult to kill both her and the whelps at the same time).
You don't want Ragnaros or Sneed's. They're good cards (although Sneed's is overrated and too slow for the current meta), but they play a similar role to Onyxia, are not essential to any deck, and can be easily substituted for. As everybody else has said, you definitely want Sylvanas, who together with Dr. Boom and Loatheb forms the holy trinity of legendaries that you can legitimately play in every single deck and for which there are no real substitutes. Gazlowe is a lot of fun, but he's a pretty niche card—I think as a F2P player, you want the legendaries that will give you the most options with the most classes. Dr. Boom, Sylvanas, and Loatheb are at the top of that list, but Onyxia isn't so far from the top. The Black Knight and Harrison Jones should probably be on your radar too.
Sad as it may be, you should consider dusting Hogger and/or Foe Reaper. They're both really fun cards, but Foe Reaper is too slow for the meta (maybe too slow for any meta) and poor Hogger is just bad. He's basically a more expensive Silver Hand Knight with upside that never, ever matters.

Personally, I would never dust a golden legendary but, since you don't seem particularly OCD about them, go ahead!
If you are looking for a Neutral legendary, I would craft Ragnaros the Firelord, if I were you, or Sylvanas Windrunner.
Alternatively, you could craft one of the awesome class legendaries, such as Grommash Hellscream, Tirion Fordring or Archmage Antonidas.

mfw his Yogg steals my win
If you really want to be safe, wait for expansion. I would probably dust it and craft sylvanas without a second thought though.

Moved to Card Discussion.
I'd go with Sylvanas, Boom is usually played over rag anyways.

Keep her at least until the new adventure that just might feature dragon synergies.
If you want to DE her, consider Sylvanas Windrunner above all you mentioned (except maybe Ragnaros the Firelord (my personal favorite...)
Oopsie, a little late with that one. Had it open too long :-)

if u dont have sylvanas craft her.. she is amazing .. after crafting her she always proved valuable to me and awesome shadowflame target :D
Time is money, friend.

tl;dr I would never dust Golden Onyxia

Wait until a few weeks after the expansion, then decide.
