Hey there. i'm kinda new and was hoping to get some help. I'm f2p and trying to get better at the game, but I can't get above rank 18 ever. I was wondering if someone could have a look at my collection and give me some advice. http://www.hearthpwn.com/members/JayDako/collection
Really, I want to just not suck but I don't have the cards to do much due to lacking legends. It takes me a long time to get gold and dust.
F2p Face Hunter should work. It's a competitive deck that doesen't run any legendaries or epics (I think). Just look up Hunter decks here on hearthpwn and you will find plenty of them.
Just play more. The hunter thing is fine. One of the biggest misconceptions about this game is that building a strong deck is a key to victory. Sure a weak deck can lose the game but add a few strong cards and it really comes down to who is the better player and who had better luck.
looking at your collection and if you're ready to disenchant a lot you could probably make any deck you want, you got prince taldaram so maybe a cubelock?
Just search "cubelock", it's a warlock deck that is top tier right now and doesn't use cards that will rotate anytime soon and is really fun to play. It's also good practise if you're new as it takes some thinking to play
I'll give it a run to see what it can do and comment on it. Looks a tad spell heavy, but hunter decks run from no minions to no spells so anyfin could happen.

Cubelock is one of the most expensive decks to craft in the meta right now!
not that expensive, just 2 legendaries necessary, another one good for it he already got and depending on the version he could get away with only 4 epics (the cubes and voidlords) not that expensive
I don't really underrstand. Also the cubelocks look really expensive. Also, with my luck, as soon as I craft it I will lose constantly as it becomes the bad deck
I honestly do like warlock because it was my first WoW character.
it's not the most expensive and as I said, 2 legendaries and 4 epics isn't that bad (cheapest cubelock possible) otherwise the spiteful priest is probably your best bet, cheap as hell for how good it is (haven't played it myself though)
Jay, it can take a while to get a feel for what the meta is, what type of deck you like, and what style of play you feel most comfortable with. The best advice is don't dust anything. At least for now. There's plenty of cheap decks to play. Practice a bunch. Don't just netdeck whatever is tier 1, because although it might have a good win rate, it may be opposite your playing style. Now, while that might be ok for a more experience player, if you're fairly new, you need to crawl before you run. Learn matchups, watch some proplayers' streams or YouTube videos. Go for more of the "teacher" type videos, rather than just guys streaming their games. Regis Killbin does this very well. I recommend watching a few of his youtube videos. He's very knowledgeable, and takes his time to explain why he is doing what he is doing. THEN he plays games to show you what he did. Disguised Toast is very fun and funny, and his content is cool, but it's more entertainment than informative. (Although I love some of his interaction videos.) For the same reason, Kripparian and Amaz are not good choices. They pretty much always play arena. I'd say this could help you with interactions, but they use decktrackers to pick cards, and arena is randomized cards, so it's not really teaching you anything to play standard. Brian Kibler is also a pretty good "teaching" player. But for now, you can just search for cheap winning decks. Dekkster Gaming does a bunch of deck spotlights on this. He's pretty good too. I like his content a lot. But as I said, don't dust anything. It gives you 1/4 the dust it's worth and for f2p players, if you want to use that card later, especially if its a legendary, it's hard to get back. Also FINISH QUESTS, TAVERN BRAWLS AND TRY SOME ARENA. Three of the best ways to get gold and free packs. And don't forget, playing brawls and arena still satisfy the conditions of quests, so 2 birds 1 stone. Good Luck!
I do tavern brawls. I do finish quests. I am not going near arena cause I can never get more than one win, so it is a waste. I don't like watching top player streams at all. I never had any interest in watching people play a card game as I find it mind numbing. Also as I think I said before, I do not HAVE a play style. My play style is "Win, don't die. I don't care how I get there." I adapt to any deck type. I have been playing off and on for about three months now, I think. If I have to stay in trash play for another 6-12 months, just grinding up gold and dust and never making any rank progress, then it is kinda lame. I have bought so many frozen throne packs and I keep getting trash and no legends really.
Sorry, I really don't know what to do. Some people say dust, someone says I should never dust. I just don't know.
Hi Jay, you might want to take a look at this face hunter list. Sure there is Patches in the deck that you can choose to craft (but it is rotating out in 3 months) which you can replace with maybe direwolfs or other cheap beasts so you can still enable creepers (which are must crafts). You can craft Golakkas to help against deck utilizing a pirate package and forego the southsea captains since they are effing epics. Stick with the deck until you familiarize your self with the matchups in the current meta (go for board control against aggros and go face against control decks). Depending on your skill (yes it still plays a part in laddering) you can reach at least rank 5 if you stayed true with the list but otherwise you can easily reach rank 10 with it.
It is a grind to collect dust and gold but you have to if you are choosing to remain F2P. Reroll 40g quests. Try to add a lot of friends so you can better finish your quests that are class based or do them in tavern brawls. At this point, there is nothing much you can do but to slowly BUILD your collection in the most efficient way (dust those worthless epics and golden cards).

I think I have a face hunter deck. Not sure how to post it. It loses a lot though in ranked.

Biggest advice to give..become a P2P lol
http://www.hearthpwn.com/members/JayDako/collection Ok this is the mage deck I already had for a while.
As the meta looks right now you got a lot of options, what type of deck do you like to play?
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1017827-hunter-test-deck and this is the hunter deck I have. For what I like to play, I really don't have a preference

I don't know what that is. I'm pretty new and don't know the lingo.
