Now that I'm out, I would really like to know what I did wrong in this Phase. I got good enough feedback in the first Phase, so I suppose the global idea behing my class was sound, and I must have made mistakes in this Phase. Were my cards not original enough? Too risky? Is it one card in particular that was awful, or nothing that really stood out?
I'd be very interested to know, because it was my first participation in such a contest and would like to learn from it!
The main thing for me is I don't feel like your class believably fits into warcraft lore. The main issue here is probably the art you chose for your portrait, which is decidedly non-Warcrafty. This really cuts into the flavor of your class, which is something I think a lot of people care about. If you'd made it a Goblin, I think that alone would have gotten you more votes.
I think the other major problem is your hero power. Your Hero power is useless without your class cards, which is a problem that became especially apparent when you presented your Basic set. Like, no other class would ever take your hero power when it came out of Sir Finley. Plus, when someone starts the game as your class, they have like 4 cards in their deck that they can use to benefit from their hero power. Why would you want to use the hero power then?
In Phase I, people may vote for a concept if it seems cool to them, and they don't have to think too hard about it because they only have three cards to consider. Looking at a whole basic set, they may realize the concept sounded good, but it may not make for a good class overall, which may be what happened here.

I think your class was pretty much a total miss. I lot of people got to move on from phase 1, but not all of them had great ideas, just middle of the pack enough to stick. I think this idea was bad. For one, I think most players don't like cheating or cheaters, so that instantly hits some people the wrong way. Second, there are a fair few people that hate massive massive RNG, and your class is riddled with chaos. Also, your "flavor" of being a card player, gambler, cheater, shark, whatever isn't readily apparent in all your cards. You have some art direction that kind of links your cards, but doesn't make them feel like they go in HS, especially since none of them show any race but Humans. It feels like something that isn't meant to be part of the game. Then you have names and art that doesn't tie things together. What does Slowking have to do with anything but the challenge? How does it "fit" into the cheater theme? What does Illusory Pain have to do with Cheating? Are you a Street Magician or a Hustle? What the hell does Treacherous Move have to do with anything? I get its a removal and you wanted something, but that name and art don't even get that across well, and it doesn't seem to fit thematically, its just there because you need it. Why does Gambit deal less damage then Mindblast when it has the drawback of also hitting your face? You have explanations of what your cards are, but for most of them, not how they fit into your class. That's a big deal. What are they bringing not just in terms of basic card types, card draw, removal, aoe, minion, but what are the there for. You just mailed this in IMO. You posted it early, didn't get a lot of feedback and never really made any changes.

I think, similar to the last guy I reviewed on why he failed, you missed an opportunity to really explain your cards and draw us in with flavor. Your art was iffy, some cards had great art, others had much more boring or just artistically out of place art. Your explanations were very minimalist. I know your names and art help, but reading the words and really knowing someone put time and effort into creating the card helps draw us in. This isn't the big public phase, its a pretty tight nit group, and if we think you don't really care or didn't put in lot of effort you aren't going to get votes.

Poisonous? Does your opponent eat the minion? No. It's Venomous.
Hey Dxiled, so you're the second one to say this to me now. Obviously English is not my first language and have no idea what the difference between both is. I have tried googling, but it still doesn't make sense, they both seem to work. What it does in the end is that it 'poisons' minions that take additional damage at the start of you next turn. I have chosen poisonous because I like the sound of that better.
The difference is quite simple once you know it, but it is something most native English speakers get wrong too, don't worry about it.
A poisonous snake is harmless, unless you ingest it. Poisons are things that you eat or drink. If you wanted to poison someone, you'd lace their food with a poison.
A venomous snake, however, is harmless unless it bites you. When something needs to be injected to hurt you, rather than ingested, it is a venom.
So what they're saying is, a minion with your Keyword would be, technically, venomous rather than poisonous. I think the distinction isn't one worth worrying about too much, if you prefer the sound of poisonous then I'd just go with that.

Also your hero power is absolutely useless. I assumed you'd use the Cheat! cards with your class cards but with what you showed you can only have 3 cards in your deck that benefit from them. Even if you had more cards your class would be terrible in arena because of it.

This actually isn't a real distinction. Poisonous and Venomous mean the same thing. I just googled "Define poisonous" and one of the definitions is
(of an animal) producing poison as a means of attacking enemies or prey; venomous.
And lots of native English speakers use it in this way. No one will think you're weird if you call a rattlesnake a poisonous snake. That's generally what people say. The difference between poisonous through biting you and poisonous through eating it is understood by context.
I would also really like to know why I fell short.
I honestly do not know. I thought your Basic Set was pretty well done, and I even almost put it on my list of potential Wild Cards except we're not allowed to Wild Card an entry more than once. I think your idea was cute and your class was great. =/
I would also really like to know why I fell short. What would draw in people's votes?
I personally have 2 major issues. First off, you have 1 card that costs more than 3 mana. That's a super weird choice to make. Everything is cheap and/or early game stuff besides one card, and while that card is cool its not overly impressive. Second, you have a group of cards that kind of interact and go together and then everything else is out of place. Phase Shift is a twist on an existing card, but what's it really doing to move anything in your basic set forward? Dragon Rage deals damage based on Dragons, but outside your Hero power you there are only 2 Dragons in the basic set, 1 of which you want to play more or less right away, and not hold to make Dragon Rage better. Ranger is such a generic name, and while its good a dealing with all those 1/1s your handing out, its not a great card in general and doesn't quite hit the flavor note either. As elegant as the design might have been it didn't further your interest in your class. Then you have Ascend, which actually only has 2 targets because your hero power tokens aren't targetable. And lastly, Intimidate is cool, but if you're giving your opponent a bunch of 1/1s it doesn't even do anything to those. So you have 5 high synergy cool cards, and then you had these other 5 cards that are low impact, low cost and in some cases off flavor.

I was under the impression our basic was NOT supposed to be a full 10 cards that push the class' gimmick. I always thought a basic set should have some simple generic cards (eg Ranger, Intimidate). Also you're acting like the basic set ONLY includes these cards, when it actually includes all basic neutral cards, there are plenty of midrange/lategame basic minions. Dragon Rage is perfectly supportable via hero power and the 7-cost dragon that you'll obviously play as your boss (like Guardian of Kings in basic Paladin)
I appreciate the feedback I'm just bothered if those are the actual reasons since that seems to go against the purpose of the basic set.

I didn't say that's why I didn't vote. I do think that means something. Especially the lack of variety in casting cost. I mean in your whole post there is 1 7 drop. No 0 cost, no 4-6 and no 8-10. That's over half the mana costs ignored. If you don't think that's weird or potentially off putting I'm sorry. I know there is a whole set of Neutral cards, and I know there are neutral or simple or whatever you want to call it cards in every class, but I do think you missed a chance to make 1 more Dragon and in the 4-6 mana range and make your class feel like it works in Basic. To be honest, IDK why everyone voted the way they did. I didn't think your class was bad at all, but I can say I didn't think it was good enough to draw my vote. I only voted for 6 people though, and 1 of them ended up disqualified.
