So I was playing around with a discolock in wild, and noticed that when Silverware Golem is buffed by Soul Infusion, then discarded and enters play, the buff doesn't remain.
I'm wondering what the consensus is on this interaction (especially after recent amendments where cards in the deck keep their buffs on the card, i.e Stitched Tracker now pulls buffed cards).
So the question being, should discarded cards keep their buffs or lose them?
That's an interesting observation. It's likely due to how the interaction was coded when Silverware Golem was first released. Back then, there was no way to buff minions in your hand as a warlock. So to simplify the code (and keep it clean), they probably just summon a copy of a generic Silverware Golem card rather than try to create a code that plays the card you discarded (which would be much more complicated). Yeah, it was short sighted to do it that way, but I dont blame them. The simplest codes are always the best codes.
It is correct. The consensus is that cards keep buffs ONLY if they move within a "zone" or move forward in zones.
What I call "zones" are: deck > hand > board > graveyard.
So if you draw/discover something that was buffed in your deck, it keeps its buffs when you draw it, as the card moves forward in the order of zones (deck --> hand). Likewise, if you play a buffed minion in your hand, it also moves forward (hand --> board)
However, if something moves backwards (like Sap, returning a buffed minion from board to hand), the buffs are lost.
So, if Silverware Golem is discarded, it moves from your hand to the graveyard (moves 2 zones forward). Then, it moves BACKWARDS in zones, as it comes into play after that. And that is when it loses its buff.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. It makes sense. I guess it's because Silverware Golem feels like it comes straight out of your hand when playing that makes it feel weird.
Discarded minions are not dead minions. Discard pile is different than the graveyard. Soul infusion buff does work with Clutchmother Zavas and I don’t see why silverware golem should not be summoned with buffs in the same way that zavas keeps buffs after discarding. I get that one card has to be played from your hand and one can be summoned after discarding, but one keeps its buff after discarding and one doesn’t. This is cannot stand. Amen.

Silverware golem is summoned when it is discarded, so it goes hand->discard pile->board
The movement from discard pile->board is reverse of play order, so all enchantments are purged. This is in line with the latest rule change.

But wait. If you buff the new life steal taunt legendary then discard her then adds new copies, she keeps the buff. This is essentially the same thing
