People usually think of dream hand, dream curve, and only wish 1 legendary card will be one starting in your hand.
1/30 is totally different from 2/30.
If it's epic card, it is OK.
I am sure Blizzard can do something about that rng. How many times did I mulligan a card away only to get the second copy of it and pull the first copy on my first draw?
Oh poor poor Professor Putricide. How I imagined you as a rogue legendary or Neutral... (much preferred.) I fathom the belief that Rexxar would gain your companionship. What of our late night raids and dying to your strange mixtures of poison and gas. Whhhhhhhhy?
On a less dramatic note; interesting concept- adding somewhat of a minor Lock and Load mechanic. It's definitely interesting and I definitely see it being played- most likely at the top of the ranks; considering most hunters in the rank 10-25 area play nothing but face, midrange, face, midrange, and did I mention face? I honestly believe from what we've seen so far, and we've literally only been illuminated to a few of the cards being released; Hunter definitely is getting the goods. Big time.
This could make my least favorite mechanic in hearthstone (secrets) present in two top tier decks. But at least Hunter could be good again, hopefully a little bit less aggro than the old days
Fun card, with good design. Synergizes well with Cloaked Huntress and well as Eaglehorn Bow. This card is similar to Lyra but with a much smaller design space, this card will only shine in Secret Hunter and it can't combo off itself like Lyra can. It will be interesting if any Hunter secrets are added this expansion that might add even more value to this card. Overall I think it is a solid design and will be an auto include in Secret Hunter, but doesn't have a place in other Hunter decks, for now anyways.
This will see play. For six mana you get two secrets and a 5/4 body on board and it has good stats on its own for 4 mana. I know the attitude of the some in the community is " All New cards suck unless proven broken" but this is a solid card on its own.
I know how this is going though for the expansion in general, once every card gets revealed, there are players who are going to say that every card sucks and is unplayable, and then when the expansion is released, a card people thought sucks ends up being broken and people complain about it. It happens in every single expansion. So I am looking forward to seeing what are the latest cards that ends up making people rage after initially being underestimated badly.
There are some things this has an advantage over Princess Huhuran.
This is one mana cheaper = easier to combo
This is not a battlecry, this keeps working if putricide isn't killed
The ultimate combo is more powerful. Turn 7 this + Cloaked Huntress + some secrets. Not good, but as someone who did something similar with gadgetzan auctioneer and Lock and Load, very fun.
Curves perfectly in the best card to combo with it.
Of course there are also some bad things
Easier to kill
You can get screwed over when you have saved up 2 secrets and the first random secret you get is the second so you can't play the second anymore.
Not a beast.
I'd say this has more potential than hururan, especially since the effect is more fun and I suspect people will try longer to make it work, but I only see it as an improbement of a possible deck that already works well, and not the card that MAKES a deck work by itself.
You need at least 6 mana for 1 additional secret, but that's still kind of on the same level as Savannah Highmane, plus you actually have to have both this and a secret in hand. Are you really going to keep a secret floating in your hand, hoping to draw this? Seems too inconsistent to work out in practice, maybe with some other support stuff.
Not sure this might work, i mean the card is good, but you play huntress on turn 3 and dump all your secrets, which is logical thing to do or you leave secrets for another turn to play it with professor, but huntress is most likely to die anyway. And using 2 mana secrets with this card is too slow imo. Don't really see this work, it requires certain combination of cards in your hand and board to work properly.
The 4 manna 5/4 stat line isn't bad, not great though. And the effect is alright, with some new secrets. But the meta has to shift toward a control/secret hunter... which I just don't see yet. Even with Deathstalker Rexar hunter does not yet have the cards and health gains to branch out of mid-range to control.
5/4 for 4 mana is an aggressive statline, but will not be difficult to remove. One obvious combo is on turn 7 Professor Putricide and Cloaked Huntress into 3 secrets, the dream a turn 3 huntress into the professor p. and one or two secrets.
Many cards that generate free value found their way into viable decks. And although some of the hunter secrets are not playable, getting them for free can help. Even Dart Trap has value when you don't have to pay for it. So maybe he can revive secret hunter, as an aggressive minion that just gives you a secret for free, it might give the deck the edge in some games it needs.
But generally I think the value it generates is too little and will cost a card (the secret) for every time you want to trigger the professor's effect. In any hunter deck that runs only one or two secrets, it is just a Lost Tallstrider . Thus, I believe this will be another non-played hunter legendary. Although I will craft it to go on with my tradition (Huhuran, knuckles, Quest)...
I wish this card was good. I really do. Despite this card being bad it will probably get experimented with and find one archetype it does alright in. However, this card is sadly awful. Firstly, the stat lines for hunter minions needs to be more defensive. This card is flat out killed by so many different decks that either have removal on turn 4 (Fireball/Swipe) or board/weapons (Truesilver/War Axe+Patches) enough to easily kill it at 5HP.
Secondly, even if it is played off-curve the effect isn't worth it. Hunter secrets are some of the worst in the game and randomly getting some is not consistent or powerful. Hunter secrets have anti-synergy with each other (Freezing + Explosive, etc.) especially in the current meta where playing a card like freezing trap can simply let your opponent get back a crucial card. Not to mention Hunter traps are notoriously easy to play around.
Hunter secrets also don't impact the board much at all. The best you can hope for is getting explosive or snake traps. Those would be the secrets you play in this deck, however, if you are playing these secrets already the value for this card goes down since you cannot play duplicate secrets so if you played a snake trap the chance of getting a good trap like snake trap off this card goes down. This gives incentive to playing bad secrets in order to make this card work better. This also brings up the argument that if you are already playing the decent secrets this card is even worse as it only gives extra sub-par secrets and doesn't filter the extra secrets out of your deck if you want to consistently use the effect.
Finally people think the stats for this card is good. They aren't. This is only a one of (Legendary) so consistently having it is rare and the card is truly just an old common with an effect: Lost Tallstrider. And even that card had beast synergy. I hope I am wrong but it looks like both of the hunter legendary cards are going to be underwhelming.
It isn't that strong of an effect sadly. Hunter secrets don't stack well together when 3 of the 7 possible Hunter secrets can invalidate each other, around half the time you are going to get screwed. Besides that, Hunter does not have the tools to actually survive/draw into this combo like priest can with Lyra. Even if they did, this card cannot combo infinitely like Lyra and takes actual cards to get an alright effect. And the secrets you play lessen the effect since you can't get the same secret. Even if this card does turn out to be alright, it is still a one of and isn't consistent enough to justify playing secrets only for it.

Those cases of bad synergy are marginal.
the cases involving misdirection only matters when misdirection was played first. If played 2nd freezing trap will proc first and misdirection will survive, active. You shouldn't put misdirection in your deck anyway so it will always come 2nd.
As for the cases with explosive, while less marginal, requires minion with less than 2 health.... and even then if he minion that should have died is bounced back, it still costs 2 more so it's still dead for a while.
Meanwhile the secrets working together happen much more often.
For exemple: Snipe, denies minions, + cat trick, denies spells. Snake trap, denies trading, + explosive, denies going face. Snake or freezing trap: denies trading, + cat trick desnies clearing with a spell.
and in wild: bear + snake
Let's not forget Hidden Cache, which can't conflict with other secrets and will buff one of your own at random for +2/+2. The sheer frustration alone caused by getting 2-4 secrets up in one turn will break tempo and disrupt aggro pretty handily. Ultimately the meta will flesh itself out and determine what cards are viable, but for now, theorycraft points to this being a strong potential revival for secret hunter.
And I have to add that since this isn't a Lyra the Sunshard "infinite value" card, you can't explode on a single turn, since not only is your mana pool and deck going to limit each turn and number of secrets played, but also the number of secrets that can enter into play is limited. So this isn't a broken card that inherently possesses OP power, but a 1-3 turn tool that can completely disrupt opponents' game plans.

We'll probably get some sort of Hunter Arcanologist having in mind how they started recycling cards.
This is going to be quite tough to get around to, i guess eater of secrets is going to be a standard addition to decks.
Decent-ish card but too unreliable to see much play. Could be good if Hunter ever gets a good control deck.

this is a pretty strong card. but it's a card for one archtype that doesn't see play.
and i'm not sure it s enought to bring secret hunter back
lets see what other tools hunter will get.
Might actually be the first playable Hunter legendary.
I'd like to see some new secrets that encourage controlish Hunter.
