Hello guys, I've accumulated 1600 dust over the few week and now I'm wondering what to craft. I pretty much got everything I wanted from Un'Goro (except lyra and elise, but I don't think priest is strong enough and Elise is good to have, but not essential), so I'm thinking about crafting one of those 2 essential gadgetzan legends, Aya Blackpaw and Patches the Pirate.
The deck I have in mind is Token Shaman. It uses both legendaries, so I wouldn't be able to build the full deck anyway. Therefore, I wonder which of the 2 legends is more essential in that deck and which can be replaced. Besides, here are what the 2 cards have got going for me:
1) Patches- that sneaky pirate sees play in A LOT of decks. Should I craft him, I would also be only a few epics away from completing Token Druid or Pirate Warrior. However, I'm not a big fan of pure aggro strategies (I find Token Shaman interesting because of its flood playstyle) and playing against Patches has certainly made me dislike the card a bit (to say the least) :D.
2) Aya- I like Aya and she's great at ramping up jades, but the problem is I would ever only use her in Token Shaman. She only sees play in 1 other deck and I don't have Fandral Staghelm so I can't play it. Meaning that should I switch to another deck (I do that quite often) for my main Aya would be useless.
I could also save my dust, since I already have 3 or 4 competetive decks like burn and secret mage, hunter and taunt warrior.
Alternatively, I could also craft a classic leg (already have Cleef, Thalnos, Alex and Leeroy). So what do you think I should do with my dust?
Well it depends on what you like the most. Both are used in a variety of decks actually.
With Aya, you can also play a few Shaman decks if you like the class. I'm not a fan of Shaman but lately, I had some fun with the Spirit Echo deck.
I hate Pirate Warrior, so I'm leaning toward a "don't craft it!". PW isn't as successful as it used to be in the actual Meta, but if you like trying tier 2+ decks, and if you like Rogue as well, I had fun with Stealth Rogue and other Pirate Rogue decks, and Leeroy can also be found in some of these decks.
As Rogue is my favorite, I'd go for Patches, but both are as strong I think
If you need any of the cool classic legends or any from un'goro, I would go with those before anything from Mean Streets, as it is already halfway through its relatively short standard lifespan.
First off, good job not just randomly crafting something and asking for other opinions beforehand.
Both aya and patches have good cases for them. However, patches can allow you to make pirate warrior, which may be cancer, but at least it wins. Just because patches can allow you to make a complete deck, I would craft patches first. However, if you don't want to play pirate warrior, then it doesn't matter much cuz you're probably going to craft the other next.
That's a hard one, I'd vote Aya for being Aya and just being awesome in Jade decks. BUT! Patches is more versatile in various decks and prob more useful.
I would say Patches is your go to for this season.
I think Rimousqui has the right of it, it all depends on what deck you want to play. Aya only shines in Jade Druid and Shaman, I must say Shaman is a lot of fun. Jade Rogue is terrible. Aya is mostly control. Lot of aggresive decks use patches as a sort of damage but mostly draw mechanic, unfortunaly only rogue has a pirate which enables the draw-mechanic of patches and is good in every deck: Swashburglar. Other aggresive decks not build around pirates include the pirate who removes weapon durability to summon patches, but I don't think that's the best. Patches is usable by every class so that is a plus.
Fandral is not a must have card in jade druid. It makes the deck probably a bit better but it isn't a real core card like Auctioneer.. So if you have all other jade druid cards, you are ready to go with Aya for this deck. Echo Jade and Jade elemental are also enabled for shaman with aya.. So you really should decide if you prefer aggressive or slower decks. Both cards are usefull.
