Hey guys I need a bit of help here. I have around 2000 dust (1600 + floating dust), and I want to choose between Ragnaros the Firelord and Edwin VanCleef. The problem is that, Rag is a neutral card and also fits in many types of decks. but VanCleef on the other hand, completes my Rogue collection (class I like and play a lot), and thus, I can play with any Rogue deck I want. So what do you think about it? Ragnaros or VC?
I suppose Ragnaros overall is better card even if often it's totems and tokens killer and fits in a lot of decks, as you said.
And Van Cleef is staple in any Rogue deck nowadays, so if you plan to play Rogue more choose it. And btw I don't like Xaril, and don't think it's important. Thalnos + Leeroy/N'Zoth are more important for competitive Rogue imo.
From your alternarive crafts only Grommash worth evaluation. For Tempo/Dragon Warrior Grom is more important then Ragnaros.
Deathwing is only borderline playable in Ramp Druid, but it's not a competitive deck atm.
Other alternatives...meh. Nothing you really need except you want full collection or smth like that.
Given the legendaries you're looking at, I'd say go for the firelord.
Van Cleef is not as important as gromash, even. Chillmaw is really narrow, despite being a fine card in dragon decks. Baron Geddon is fine too, but only really used in control warrior. Deathwing is rarely used, even in the greediest of control decks, too all in. Onyxia will basically only fit fun decks, or tavern brawl...
Van Cleef can be fun and rewarding, but it's also one of those high risk high reward cards. You have to put so much into it to make it good and it's easily removed or silenced. If it does stick though you've got yourself a power house. Situations where you have the cards to actually boost it to a good size and get full use out of those cards are somewhat rare from my experience because of how situational they actually are. That being said, if you can get him when you have Shiv's, Backstab, Fan, coin, it's probably going to become a situation where you're using the cards efficiently and can play a huge Van Cleef. In those matches he is really good, but then you have to account for whether or not your opponent has removal before doing so (or just take the plunge and pray).
On the other hand Rag is always a good card and can be used both in aggro and control decks. He also allows you to pull of some super funny, albeit extremely lucky, shenanigans when your opponent has 7 minions and 8 hp and it goes face. Overall I would always choose Rag over Van Cleef, however if it's the last card you need to complete the collection that would be an exception. 1600 dust isn't so much that you wouldn't soon be able to craft Rag if you just rounded out your collection.
You like to play with rogue, and van-cleef completes your decks - go for it!
Do you have any use for ragnaros immidietly? If not, don't craft him (It's one of the best legendaries in the game, but who know what you would want to craft tomorrow? If it will be ragnaros, craft it right before you want to use it).
I will open this topic too (I play rogue so much especially miracle this days but my Edwin VanCleef is Questing Adventurer :D On the other hand Ragnaros the Firelord is one of the best card in the game) but I realized I play rouge so much and I enjoy while playing (I mean 25 damage in one turn :))) ) so I craft what I enjoy. You should do that too. Craft what you enjoy

edit: My other options for legendaries, but in lower priorities, are: Chillmaw, Grommash Hellscream, Baron Geddon, Deathwing and maybe Onyxia

i have Ragnaros for 2 years
and VanCleef for a half year.
Rogue is not my main, but i guess In all my life i played 10 times more with vanCleef deck than with Ragnaros deck.
And playing Vancleef gives more satisfaction and fun.
Ragnaros. More useful in a lot of decks.
