Now until earlier today, I didn't think this card was much of anything.
But today . . . I made an OTK priest.
And as it turns out, people tend to ignore this card most of the time. It's pretty difficult to remove. Most decks can't just deal 9 Damage out of nowhere, So if you drop this, You can pretty much expect this to survive the next turn. And what happens on the next turn? Well my friend, Divine Spirit, Divine Spirit, Inner Fire. That's what happens. And that's 38 Damage to the face. And you know what else? Priest has the best silencing potential out of all hearthstone classes. Especially since one of their class cards is Mass Dispel. You've Probably Never heard of this card either. But it's the only card in the game that silences ALL enemy minions. This means that no matter how many taunts your opponent had, It doesn't matter.
So you can basically Drop Captured Jomungar, and the turn after, Play all those cards for an easy OTK.
Lol. Easy. It takes 5 cards. What Am I talking about? This will never be meta . . .
In any case, this is very fun to do, so try experimenting. I found it fun using a deck that had Captured Jormungar and Tournament Medic, both of which had at least 8 Health, which is enough to OTK with the aforementioned combo.
Besides, when using weird strategies like this, You have an advantage because the opponent won't know what you are playing.
*An OTK deck is a 1 turn play, not a 2 turn play...*
I know many OTK decks that drop the minion the turn before and then buff it the second turn and go in for the kill. You still did all the damage in one turn.
Eerie Statue does the job better and much faster, and all you need is to throw a few slots at Silence, Spellbreaker, or Ironbeak Owl. I've been having some success with a Silence Priest build running Divine Spirit + Inner Fire, but using Eerie Statues as my main buff target. Unlike the Jormungar, being able to coin->statue turn 3 and Spellbreaker turn 4 is actually hella scary.
Cant i have basically the same with a Tournament medic or a death lord? Why sink so much mana into a moreover useless minion?
Deathlord has a Huge downside. I was Captured Jormungar along with Maexxna, But it so happens that Just because of the existence of Stampeding Kodo and Cabal Shadow Priest, This has more survivability than Maexxna.

Yeah because Kodo/Priest Meta..damn! No Seriously for a combo deck, mana cost is what counts. And you definetely see more Uldamans/Saps/freezing traps than Kodos/Priests.
Also with combo, aggro is your enemy so its actually important to have cards like deathlord because they make your worst matchup better.

True, but there's nothing stopping you from loosing a lot of these garbage minions like mogushan, jormungar, tournament medic alongside deathlord.
BTW something for the OP. i once had the idea of using Skycapn Kragg alongside with powerword shield, divine spirit 2x, inner fire as a 32dmg charge. needless to say you also need thaurissan on at least 3 pieces, as the whole combo costs 7+1+2+2+1=13. The results were hillarious, to say the least. So if you're interested feel free to give it a shot ^^
I wouldn't use the Jormungar, as it unfortunately is just too expensive. You could try out some Lightspawns and/or Shade of Naxxramas in your combo deck instead. In my experience the Combo Priest isn't that inconsistent. With the Clerics Acolytes you have lots of drawing power and you have the advantage of the "surprise factor", as not many expect you to play a OTK Priest. Kolento played some really good builds in earlier months. You could take a look at them.
If you are really crazy, you could try making a Mech OTK Priest with Junkbots...

I KNOW RIGHT!?!?!? I thought about Kragg Myself . . . But I don't have him :/

Don't worry, you are not missing out on anything ^^. the deck is absolute garbage ^^

Well, that's my 10¢ on it.

I enjoy when "No similar decks were found."

It is a pretty bad card all around. While hard to remove, 7 mana for a 5/9 isn't that great.

Execute, Shield Slam, Shadow Word: Death, Naturalize, Mulch, Assassinate, Sap, Vanish, Frost Nova + Doomsayer, Polymorph, Polymorph: Boar ... Yes, opponents will be reluctant to use premium removal on something that is just a big fat minion, but is that enough as a win condition?
You could just die before you assemble your 5 (!) card not-OTK combo.
Divine Spirit + Inner Fire decks sort of work, but you need to use better base minions like Ysera.

Jormungar & Maexxna... Gonna start putting Hemet in my decks to deal with these guys.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
Hey we're all talking about fun here. Maybe I'll make a thread about how awesome Ravenholdt Assassin is in Shaman.
