! Warning, guys - This is not salt topic, im just trying to compare brawl with some other board clears !
Brawl is really good board clear for Warrior - It is played since beta and it is still really good. This card is played in EVERY Control / Combo ( Patron ) deck.
Why? Really easy! This card destroys almost every minion - Except one random. For 5 mana - It is just insane!
And as i said, im going to compare this card with similiar ones.
1) Enter the coliseum - I think that this card is much worse then Brawl - And that for several reasons!
a) You usually brawl with empty board on your side, so you dont need effect of this card ( Your minion with biggest attack survives )
b) When brawling, random ( Enemy ) minion will survive. But when entering the coliseum ( SoundsBadMan ), enemy minion with highest attack will survive...
c) 6 Mana > 5 Mana
2) Twisting Nether - This is kinda good card for Warlock - You can destroy EVERY minion on board, using only 8 mana!... Wait, only? Yes, i think that this card is also worse then Brawl.
Share your opinions about this topic, please! :)
Brawl has RNG in it which always makes a card cost less (arcane missile)
Enter the coliseum shouldve been lowest attack minions it wouldve made sense with paladins ability to put minions atk to 1 ..
Brawl shouldn't change; the other ones should.
I think the card was originally made with the view that people would be playing bigger cards, Also, I think the devs didn't anticipate that warriors would be so strong at control. Warrior was probably supposed to be a tempo class, where your weapons would do a bunch of work at risk of your life. Brawl is pretty bad in tempo.
I do not think brawl is too strong for 5 mana. The only situation I can see it being overpowered is when your opponent has a much stronger board then you and your minion wins the brawl with like a 1/5 chance. Then again that is all variants. This card is just a key component which makes this class viable (control variation), and without it control warrior wouldn't be an archetype.
The reason brawl is annoying is the rng element. It's also why it's undercosted. What I don't think is properly factored in to the balancing is the ability for the caster's minion to be the only one left alive. In this situation (which is lucky because you often only want to brawl when your board is empty...) brawl is a twisting nether thatgives you board control and costs 5.... it can also screw you completely and leave your opponent's strongest minion alive.
A fix would be for brawl to cost more for each minion the opponent has in play (or just each minion on the board), which would reduce the range of positive/negative outcomes. Too clunky though, and less 'fun'.
I don't think it's broken, I think it's a poor design. I've always despised Brawl, I'm surprised more people don't complain about Brawl outcomes considering how many people complained about Shredder drops. Anyway, I don't know how they'd change it, but I don't think it's too powerful. It's just annoying playing against coin-flip Warrior.
No the card is fine!

Make it so Dirty Rat doesn't have a 90% chance to win the brawl.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Not op at all. It's really bad actually in many situations. Vs Pirate warrior, for example, you lose if you draw this card in your opening hand.
My hate for this card is immense. It is by no means a overpowered card, but my god... this card screws me over every time I play it or it is played against me.
Brawl and all purely RNG cards like this should be rethought. If you have 5 minions ranging 1-15 health, the warrior plays any minion and then brawl, he can kill all your minions, keep his minion alive, and therefore basically win the game. This should be rare statistically, but goddamn is it not rare enough for my tastes- i can't count the times I have had a warrior win the brawl when I've had board control. Twisting Nether costs 8 and always clears your own board. With Brawl you have a chance of clearing all your opponents minions for 5 mana, and then 5 mana to do whatever you want. Between that and the rag hero power, the amount of RNG is disgusting.
Brawl can be really good or really bad. That's the point of the card and the reason it's balanced.
Personally If i'm facing down a giant board; from N'Zoth for example; I would rather a Twisting nether than a brawl any day. Sometimes it's better to completely clear than to risk not clearing a huge minion.
