Just got to Legend by playing this deck.
Obviously this is one of the easiest deck you can play and reach legend at this moment.
Enjoy fast climbing and spread the hate!
You'll want to finish quest using: Fire Fly, Glacial Shard, Flame Elemental or Wisp.
Mulligan for the one of above and for return to hand effects, sometimes you can keep Preparation if you get good cards from start.
The charge minions are the last one you want to use from your hand most of the time, unless you need to use them to clear some threats.
alternative for patches?
No matter which quest deck I try, I just can't get it to work... never getting more than one minion, never drawing shadow steps or return to hand cards... Amazing how I keep losing to this though, other people seem to have no problem finishing the quest by turn 5. Thanks RNGsus!
I am however gonna keep trying this version...
Ok, this version works great! :D
I'm glad you like it
Is there a server that got 16k+ legend ppl?
I usually reach legend at NA, and believe that no more than 1k5+ legend each month.
16k+ maybe similar number to rank 5? Suprise that somewhere legend is so cheaply?
There were more than 65k ppl who reached legend last month on CN server. I saw the picture and was like wtf
It was on EU
Schuler, just wondering if you could comment about your recent changes?
After a couple games it seems like tar creeper is better than bilefin to stall an aggro deck. I don't have oracle so am using acolyte of pain instead, not sure if there is a better option. Also using moroes instead of patches. I save him for after quest and after their board clear if I expect one to refill quickly.
So far up to rank 14 on a win streak! Still missing 5 cards but getting close.
Indeed, I made the changes to help against agrro and I removed one Igneous Elemental because I don't feel like I need 2 of them.
just started playing this deck and I'm getting my quest done pretty quickly but at the expense of early board control and taking too much dmg to the face. Complete the quest and just can't recover
Not sure if you posted this before or after the revisions, seems like they address aggro.
I just hit legend for the first time with this deck! Just -1Vanish +1Hungry Crab. Made it in like 9 hours total, from rank 9.
grats! im still stuck around rank 15 FeelsbadMan
This deck is focused on finishing the quest fast, eviscerate and backstab would help controlling the board a bit, but it will definitely slow down how fast you finish quest and that's not something I like.
This may be completely useless since I am only rank 15 (only on my 2nd month playing the game), but here it goes: I am still missing 8 cards from this deck (7 duplicates and Patches the Pirate), but honestly can't remember the last time a mage beat me with this deck (actually just hit 15 today for the first time by beating a freeze mage). I usually try to only fill half the board and keep close to a full hand once the quest is complete to minimize impact of flame strikes and to be ready to refill the board. Also, if the board is full and they freeze the board, that hurts if you can't play a charge. I try to keep 2 slots open for a charge plus return to hand to play charge again if needed. If not, save charge for same situation later since it may be your only source of damage while they keep freezing the board.
Since I am missing Patches the Pirate, I use Swashburglar and using it for the quest (typically only against mage) has given me some pretty useful mage cards. I always see freeze mage at my level (opposed to any faster mage if there is one) so completing the quest with charge or freeze doesn't seem to really help since the game will likely go long anyways (and the charge can be much more useful after quest and freezing begins). Fire Fly also seems fine, I guess I try to use that or Swashburglar to complete the quest against mage.
Just decided to craft this deck as I loved the old Oil Rogue and enjoy Rogue in general even though I don't play it too much. I thought this deck would require a lot of planning etc but after playing a few unranked games in which I won several of them within a few minutes, I realised this wasn't the case. The deck is hilariously fun to play, especially when you beat out a Pirate Warrior within a turn of them being able to beat you, it definitely feels satisfying.
Still missing some cards so am using Ancient Brewmaster for the battlecry. The issue is that I think it is just too expensive. Do you think this is okay, or do you think it would be better to just replace it with a draw card? My options that are cheaper than 4 mana are Runic Egg and Acolyte of Pain. Could also use Gnomish Inventor, but Ancient Brewmaster seems better since it at least directly contributes to quest.
Also, I need 1x Gadgetzan Ferryman and 2x Mimic Pod. I don't plan to buy any MSG packs right now just for Gadgetzan Ferryman (or patches) so focusing on Un'Goro. I almost have enough dust to craft one, so which do you think is better? I figured that I won't be lucky enough to open 2x Mimic Pod in the short term so crafting one seems like a safe risk.
Gadgetzan Ferryman craft and replace Mimic Pod with Coldlight Oracle
Just did a Preparation+Mimic Pod to get 2 wisps on turn 1 and had the quest completed by turn 3 with the coin. Wow.
