Goblin here to showcase my first ever deck! I don't want any of you to use it (because then you'll be awesome like me and everyone from Amaz to Trump will start scrambling for how to counter it in ranked) I just want you all to witness the complete badassery I indulge in every day on Hearthstone.
You might be wondering what my credentials are and why you should even be looking at my deck. I am the top ranked player in Casual on the NA servers with a 99% win rate. Conceding doesn't count as a loss if you didn't lose all of your health points
Why Hogger?
- Hogger is a 4/4 that infinitely summons 2/2 taunts
- He is the most hidden OP legendary in the meta right now
- He annoys the s*** out of your opponent for hilarious BM filled waves of endless gnolls
- He sits in the sweet spot of 4 attack to escape priests removal (Shadow Word: Pain and Shadow Word: Death)
- But what about Auchenai Soulpriest and Circle of Healing combo, Flamestrike, and Starfall etc.
- Power Word: Shield and Divine Spirit are reserved for Hogger to escape these acts of treason until Hogger can be healed up again by the priest hero power, Lesser Heal. (If you're ever in a situation where you wonder "Should I heal my face or Hogger?" Facepalm yourself back to League of Legends and think about what you just said. YOU ALWAYS HEAL THE HOGGER.
- Hogger counters the ever so popular The Black Knight because he just keeps creating taunts!
Mulligan Strategy:
- If you didn't get Hogger in your starting hand mulligan every card.
- If you didn't get Hogger by turn 6, concede. (As I stated before this won't hurt your ranking or your road to legend, because conceding doesn't count as a loss, it just counts as a not win).
- Aim for Northshire Cleric and early game taunts to facilitate card draw to get Hogger faster
Gameplan:
- Set up early game taunts to protect the incoming Hogger
- You don't need a lot of removal because with all the taunts it will be near impossible for your opponent to go face
- Hogger devastates late game when you and your opponent are trying to top deck the winning card and Hogger just keeps throwing 2/2 gnolls at your opponent's face
- Never leave Hogger vulnerable to powerful minions and hard removal i.e. use Divine Spirit and Power Word Shield for extra Hogger value
Hogger Combos:
- Hogger only goes face.
- HOGGER ONLY GOES FACE.
- Hogger only attacks other minions if:
- Hogger can crush the tiny minion with his mighty axe and immediately be healed.
- You are trying to bm before lethal.
- Black Knight was played and you must avenge their death (jk, we never suicide Hogger. Ever).
- Power Word Shield+Power Word Shield+ Divine Spirit+Hogger = 10 mana for 4/16 Taunt Machine that never dies.
But What if They silence Hogger?
- If you haven't already Faceless Manipulator to make another Hogger then concede, you should have been more careful. What are you semi-pro?
I will try to maintain this guide for the future and other meta changes. Feel free to leave comments that I will most likely never listen to.
*Fishoo made a nice addition for adding inner fire to the deck and using it on a Sludge Belcher or even a Shieldbearer for a really strong turn 2 play at 4/4 taunterino.
VERY IMPORTANT: Also, it should be noted that Hogger is never meant to be played immediately on turn 6 as he is extremely vulnerable to removal and should only be played on turn 6 as a desperation play. He is better played on turn 8 or higher when you can buff him out of range of hard removal.***
Changelog:
Addition of inner fire sets up crazy Mogu'shan, Deathlord and Shieldbearer value plays. Removed Tauren warrior with no reliable way of procing enrage. Removed 1 faceless because if you were able to successfully faceless 1 Hogger, then you were already in good condition and the 2nd faceless only contributed to a "win more" condition that only helped you clinch obvious wins instead of helping you get out of a bad situation. Removed Holy Nova for harder "big guy" removal with the addition of Shadow Word: Death. Our taunterino team fairs well against several aggro minions with the priest's ability to heal up our minions.
- +1 Inner Fire
- +1 Mogu'shan Warden
- +1 Shadow Word: Death
- +1 Deathlord
- -1 Faceless Manipulator
- -2 Tauren Warrior
- -1 Holy Nova
Thanks for reading my guide. Unleash the Gnolls
i recently introduced a friend of mine to Hearthstone and we just goofed around in customs for awhile. I eventually made nearly this exact same deck, but it was all taunts to save Lord Pagle, with Hogger as his bodyguard XD. Good deck, 10/10, would rank again.
holy hogger!
He had just used his last execute on the other Lord of the Arena.
Mistakes were made lol.
This was the most fun shit I've had in a long time. He wasted his 4/1 weapon on a 0/4, his execute on a Sen'jin, his 5/5 ended up dying from fatigue lmao.
Even with 2 3/2 weapons and one 4/2 he took more than 15 damage just from killing all the taunts.
His frosthing berserker was 15/1 at one point and died to a footman.
Lmao
Oh yeah and don't just put down the hogger on turn 6.
Save it for when you have 8 mana so hes not 4 health. And until then just throw big taunts so they will get pissed and use removes on sunwalkers/lords of the arena.
I've changed it a bit and removed the patriarchs for Inner fire so that the ShieldBearer (0/4) would be a 4/4 turn 2. Also works really well with Belcher. And I removed one of the Cultists for Kel'thuzad.
I got a Kel'thuzad+Hogger and the guy surrendered.
Hmm. Just tried this deck and Assassinate killed Hogger immediately. I didn't finish the game, but it was looking pretty bleak.
Pics or it didn't happen.
Literally annoy people, as opposed to only metaphorically annoying them?
After further investigation (and science 'n' shit), this deck has been proven to "literally" and "metaphorically" annoy the s*** out of people.

I just tried this deck and I made the brutal climb from rank 23 to 22 with ease! The poor mage and warrior had no answers for the endless taunts I was throwing at them while the badass Hogger just wore them down! I look forward to see where this deck takes me, I might even make it to rank 20!
Don't be so modest. With this deck anything is possible, even rank 19
