Greetings, let me introduce myself as this is my first Hearthstone guide. My nickname is Lavvek, I have been playing Hearthstone for years. I have won numerous online tournaments, some minor offline ones in my region, finished high legend and represented Croatia in Hearthstone Global Games. Currently I am holding rank 73 in EU.
This will be my control warlock guide, which I used to get rank 73 this season. Shall we begin ? :)
Control warlock currently is one of the strongest decks on ladder. It's strong versus aggro and has huge potential versus control with Zola the Gorgon as you can play multiple N'Zoth, the Corruptor, also there is Rin, the First Disciple
I will try to explain the main strategy and some "flex" cards in this section, mulligan versus certain match ups will be explained later on.
Control warlock has strong board clears and some sticky minions like Voidlord which gives you an upper hand versus aggro decks. Your early game should be focused on playing your early minions like Kobold Librarian or Mistress of Mixtures to fight for the board versus aggro, also upgrading your Lesser Amethyst Spellstone is important to handle early big threats and gain back some life.
Your hero power is very strong so use it when you can but keep in mind, versus aggro, you should have a safe health pool to tap and, verus control, take care you don't enter fatigue to early. From Stonehill Defender you should always look to find another Voidlord or any other high value taunt, for an example The Lich King. Sacrificial Pact is a great card for mirror match ups while versus some other classes you could use it for healing on some of your Voidwalker.
You can swap Gnomeferatu with Plated Beetle or Doomsayer if the ladder is filled with aggro decks. Try to kill your own Possessed Lackey whenever you can because most of the decks run one or two copies of silence.
Whenever you can,try to playBloodreaver Gul'dan before you play N'Zoth, the Corruptor because N'Zoth, the Corruptor will most likely revive more Voidlord while Bloodreaver Gul'dan might revive some Voidwalker instead.
I will try and explain how to mulligan in certain match ups versus Tier 1/2 decks.
vs PRIEST
Currently there are few Priest archetypes on ladder, so mulligan is pretty hard. Combo, Spiteful and Control Priest all are viable, while I would say Spiteful is your worst matchup and you should have in mind he will Mind Control your Voidlord so try to kill them yourself and revive them later on, he only has 2 Mind Control. Also Rin, the First Disciple is a good keep in Mulligan. Never play a 1-drop on turn 1 unless you can clear Northshire Cleric, somehow.
vs MURLOC PALADIN
This is a pretty simple match up, he either kills you fast or you clear his board and win the game. Try to look for board clears and 1-drop minions in your mulligan. If you don't have any of those feel free to make a full mulligan.
vs SECRET MAGE
Try to find your Hellfire because it contests his early game, Mana Wyrm,Arcanologist and Kirin Tor Mage. You should be wary of his Counterspell while you can play Possessed Lackey into his Explosive Runes if your health is allowing it. Also keep as many heals as you can because he will try to burn you once he loses the board. Pray he doesn't have Aluneth on turn 6. Most lists run Potion of Polymorph so don't throw in your demons into that.
vs HUNTER
It is pretty similar like vs Mage except Defile is easier to use if it is Face Hunter, also he doesnt have any spell blocking cards but has Silence. Secret hunter is not as aggressive but you should have a copy of Hellfire to handle his Lesser Emerald Spellstone.
vs WARLOCK
You should always look for Rin, the First Disciple because it is our main win condition, and never, absoloutley never play it without killing it yourself, because it will get silenced and you will lose your main win option. Versus Cube lock have in mind he will play Mountain Giant and Skull of the Man'ari so you can imploment some weapon hate like Acidic Swamp Ooze if there are Cubes and secret mages roaming the ladder. Also your math should be pretty good when the board gets filled with demons and you need to defile :)
Hopefully you enjoyed my Control Warlock guide :) Please leave a comment and add something if I have missed it. You can follow my social networks from the links below and check out my stream.

Gnomeferatu are better in this case than Mountain Giant ?
Giant might be too slow vs aggro and dead card in some matchup, so i would not recommend it in this list, but you can give it a try and tell me how it went :)
- 1 Gnomeferatu
+1 Skulking Geist
That is an option aswell :)
Zola the Gorgon replacement?Or is it too important?
Zola is not that important, it is just additional value. If you want something similar you can try with any return to the hand card.
From r8 till r5 easy but priest is a problem, fortunately I did not meet them very much.
dobar deck lavek
Priest is a hard matchup that is true. But I would not say it is impossible.
wew can I play Brewmaster instead of Zola ? I don't have her yet, they work similar with n'zoth since you need to wait a turn to recycle them anyway
Yes, that is an option. You can try with any return to the hand :)
Just hit legend. Thank you so much!
10 straight losses, getting ganked by aggro being to slow and to many silences, getting ganked by any priest you play... spellhunter turn 4 barnes conceed... how is this exactly viable???
Hey there, I am sorry to hear that, but aggro should not be a problem for you. Be careful with your board clears, don't overreact and you should be fine. Versus priest you have to play very smart, not a single missplay is allowed, and ye vs barnes turn4 is just hard. I hope you will give it a second chance :)
I know this is probably a dumb question, but is there any way to replace N'Zoth, the Corruptor? I don't have him and I don't want to craft him with the rotation coming up in a month or two (I'm never gonna play wild).
Nice deck and guide my dude +1. I made a video if anyone is interested, thanks.
Hello, seems very rough for you tho :D Lackey is too important to play 1 copy. Being able to get 3/9 on turn 5/6 is way too strong. N'zoth is refill and its all about voidlords. Try to play slow and think about every play. Happy to hear from you after a few more games :)
Really Great deck, happy I crafted Zola because the second N'Zoth is brutal for your enemy. (Also, if your N'Zoth get's dirty rat'd out, you can get it back, which is really coolio.) Thanks a lot for the deck, keep up the good work!
Hey, ye its actually pretty hard matchup, I haven't faced a single one so can't really tell you what is the best, but for sure turn7 rin+packt is a win condition since you have a lot of stuff to deal with his board :)
Hey! I'm loving this deck. I'm 10-3 with it now and I'm finally rank 3! I think the only deck I'll just straight up concede to is turn 4 Barnes hunter. Is there anything that can be done to try to win back the game or is it usually lost?
