This Secret is terribly designed, not because the card is terribly designed itself, but because how are you meant to play around all the mage secrets?
For example, say that a mage plays a secret and Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk, call me crazy but you do need to clear that board, but in saying that, you also have to play around too many secrets to possibly actually do anything about the minion's that Jan'alai has now put on the board.
And the question becomes, do you attack Rag, potentially summoning a second Rag (or even if you have enough minions on board, summoning another 4/4 minion), or do you try and use a spell to clear Rag, possibly for counter spell to take effect, and get rid of your targeted clear.
Sure this secret could be neither of those, it could be Explosive, but you don't know that and can't keep playing around everything.
This is similar to how secrets work in other classes too. Rogue Not included....
When a hunter manages to achieve a Christmas tree literally any move you make is the wrong one.
Taunt Mage incoming.
Can we assume the creature keeps any damage on it? If it summons a "new" creature this is kind of nuts with a Witchwood Grizzly.
It does summon a 'copy' of the minion before it is attacked by an opposing minion, so i'd imagine it wouldn't summon a 'new' minion.
Looks more like the type of secret Hunters normally get. I like the board-centric effect. Pushing Tempo Mage after the nerf it took from Mana Wyrm. Needs a little more help still though.
it's kind of a tempo card, but tempo secret mage is dead as of now, so I can't see this being used effectively. If you play this in any other mage deck your opponent is just going to know what's up and will avoid attacking big guys and just use spellls against them.
or just two Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk
Great secret. Will be really annoying to play against too.
For some reason i think that Sunwalker or Tol'vir Stoneshaper would be good with this.
There must always be a Lich King
ftfy
There must always be two Lich Kings.
Though I sorta feel like this will be used for tempo more than anything I still like it. It's neat and can do some pretty gross stuff in the right situation. That said it is hard to say if it will be easy to make those situations, after all it is not going to always be the case that you have this up and nothing on your board but the Lich King.
Do you?
what this card has to do with it
Well in his defense, there's the soft synergy that you get a backup Mana Wyrm. Or maybe just the fact that if these two cards are run in the same deck (Mana Wyrm pre-nerf), it would just boost the power level of the deck significantly. No direct synergy between, but just having both of the cards in the same deck very annoying.
