Yes, and I'm almost certain that is what this card is intended to work with. Dead man's hand warrior already has 3 weapons (2 razors and the DK weapon) so all you have to do is hold the card until you're ready to flip a copy of it into your deck.
On a side note, it's high cost and weapon-dependency makes it synergistic with Medivh... Not that I'd recommend it in Warrior's current situation.
nice
op
If only this could be a Shaman card...
it's not broken/underpowered enough tho
who is Marin's Treasure
Correct me if im wrong but am I the only one thinking those spellstones will have to be kept in opening hand for upgrade mechanic to actually work a consistent number of times?
No, but the thing about that is you don't really need to upgrade them at all for some to be good. Hunter spellstone is 6/6 stats for 5, which is slightly overstatted. This one isn't so good without at least one upgrade, but at 1 upgrade all of them are either good or amazing. 2 upgrades makes all of them bonkers, but that's a pipe dream for most of them, the only exceptions being warrior and hunter in my opinion. It's really easy to cycle for the hunter card with tracking which means that midrange hunter could use it pretty effectively. The warrior one doesn't really fit in to a deck cleanly but most warrior decks run 3-6 weapons, so upgrading it once is likely, and upgrading it twice is plausible (the old hunter secret package is very much the same kind of beast). The one problem with this card is that it loses hard to Dragonfire Potion, but that's not a big deal because it actually comes down a turn later, so either priest has to wait on their removal, netting you an additional bunch of face damage, or they have to waste their removal before you even play this card and then there's a turn before they play Shadowreaper Anduin where you smack them for 10 or 15 damage. Well at least there was until Psychic Scream was printed. GG priest OP. I could see this card in pirate warrior though.
Are ya'll 100% sure, that you need to hold this in your hand to upgrade? Because other cards have text "while this is in your hand", whilst this doesn't. I could imagine this working while it still is in your deck, like Kabal Crystal Runner and Thing from Below but unlike Blubber Baron. I didn't see the card reveal stream, did they give any further info?
According to the stream, the spellstone cards need to be in your hand to be leveled up. I agree that Blizzard should add text akin to Blubber Baron to explain it better.
I'm curious if you have to physically equip a weapon like Fiery War Axe and Gorehowl or will this spellstone upgrade if you played a minion like N'Zoth's First Mate and Arathi Weaponsmith? Worth experimenting with if it pops up in a pack.
Doppelgangster on steroids!
Please, show us those shiny metal bu... I mean golems!
Seems too clunky, you're in a catch-22. If you keep this in your opening hand is a dead card while you wait to equip weapons. If you mulligan it you don't want to play your weapons until you draw it.
With win axe nerfed this seems even less useful.
I just realised Forge of Souls is a thing. This might be playable after all
Now playing Upgrade! without a weapon actually upgrades something.
Reread both cards. It actually should work. The new card says "equip a weapon" not "play a weapon". And the Upgrade says "Equip a 1/3 weapon".
equip a weapon to upgrade*
