Amazing buff thats too slow and too late.
*draws vigorously for Cabal Shadow Priest*
Unless Spikeridged Steed is played on a creature with 0 attack, Cabal Shadow Priest can't steal it unless you debuff it's attack.
Well I was talking about Cabal Shadow Priest for when the Stegodon shows up.
Oh okay that makes sense. Not as dream shattering though but not that bad.
First thought: How the fuck would you ever be able to play a 6 mana buff without losing an insane amount of tempo?
Second though: Jade Idol
Third thought: tableflip.gif
Fourth thought: This is a paladin card and I'm really dumb.
paladin card... needed another thought in there I think
It doesnt.
NZoth only works with creatures that naturally have Deathrattle, not applied to.
It doesn't, unless the Deathrattle effect is a default part of the card it won't be brought back.
Same thing with Unearthed Raptors and Ancestral Spirit, since the deathrattle isn't part of the card's text but rather an add-on, they're not brought back.
A huge buff to Spellbreaker.
How good is 6 mana for 16 stats with half of it from a deathrattle? Eh questionable at best. It's semi-comparable to Savannah Highmane, but silence landing on that kills less than half the stats; and something like sap also straight up kills the card.
Silence gets rid of all the stats. This just makes Spellbreaker better but I don't think it would see a lot of play since pretty much all of MSOG isn't effected by silence so even if a buff paladin deck becomes popular, the old MSOG decks which don't lose much (Jade) will just rise to be the best (if it even falls at all).
I think this card is way too slow in aggressive meta and way too easy to remove in control meta.
If you survive long enough and still have board, you might pull this off and win.
Against Control, paying 6 mana for a buff is super risky.
I do agree with that.
Why is it so hard to make card text consistent? This should've been:
Expensive buff spells are bad, buffing your minion and having it Sapped. Polymorphed, Hexed or Devolved is bad. We need some buffs that give your minion stats and "cannot be targeted by hero power and spells". That said, this spell is somewhat good vs Classes that don't do have the mentioned removals above. It is good against Druid, Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Priest (Entomb is rotating out) and Warlock.
You wouldn't want to entomb a recruit that's been buffed by this anyways. Better to just kill it and take the 2/6 taunt for yourself with Cabal Shadow Priest. Seems like Blizzard wants to go the route of "Let's give Paladins more buffs than other players have in terms of removal" which isn't going to work all that well since Paladins have very few ways to create tempo swings, especially if they're denied a board.
A 6 mana buff is just too many resources to put into a buff for a minion. You lose 6 mana and two cards if your minion gets transformed. The main advantage of a buff is you can make better trades do to higher stats, but only buffing the damage by 2 means it will not often help you will this. I don't think this card will be played.
Silence bait. Silence bait. Friendly neighbourhood Silence bait. ♪♫
But the only silence being played nowadays is in Priest.
