this is very interesting card
Nice Flexible card but will it take the spot of Elemental destruction?
In wild? I dont think so. But it's rotating out from standard.
its better than elemental destruction vs aggresive boards. its worse than elemental vs big boards. it doesnt need lava shock which is great. it is not good with hallazeal which is not the worst thing. I think I like volcano better.
Casino Shaman is real
Can kill ysera if its the only minion on board. 10/10
So can 3 mana hex with any number on minions, with no over load. 4/10
Can kill Soggoth the Slitherer if other enemy minions have a total health of 6 or less, and kill those minions too. 10/10
More importantly, it can be used either as a Hex, or a Lightning Storm. Versatility matters, you can't get to decide whether you face a Zoolock who floods the board or a Ramp Druid who uses fucktons of huge minions. Include 2 Lightning Storms, 2 Volcanos and 2 Hexes, you've got 4 amazing removal cards for anything you face.
If we ever live in a day where hard countering soggoth the slitherer is necessary, I will run black knight. 😹
The problem with this card is if you have a few of you to own minions on board already, this card is useless. This card is only good for big swing moves, but that's not the shaman play style. Shamans are a win more class. They start with board control, flood the board, buff minions, and efficiently remove threats. They lose the game the moment The opponent wins the board. That's why no slow shaman decks exist, even with healing and good late game. They don't have sufficient comeback mechanics. Now it is possible this card helps fix this although it will need a lot of support from the rest of the shaman class cards this expansion.

Cooler animation than Deathwing. However, the overload really brings a limit to it. If you would clear the enemies board as midrange shaman on turn 5, you would have 4 mana crystals next turn and will probably be hero power pass or a weak turn. I rate this card higher as control shaman, since you would normally do nothing as control shaman than far sighting and healing waving until your bursts come up.
I mostly agree. This definitely fits into a control deck for the reasons you alluded to. However, I wouldn't necessarily rule this out as a one of in a midrange deck. Typically, you want to out-tempo your opponent a little more than catch up later, but as a one of to take back the board it might be good. While I am not so inexperienced with shaman to think that midrange decks often like to run Flamewreathed Faceless, there is another card that can be played for 4 mana that is exactly what you want to do after clearing your opponent's board, Jinyu Waterspeaker.
Shaman deck with only board clear will be fun
I just want more epic animations like this and Twisting Nether.
If your opponent had a board that requires 15 damage to all its minions by turn 5 you probably took a fuckload of damage up until that turn so it is a bit of overkill on curve. However In the later stages of the game it becomes very versatile and effective. I am really looking forward to seeing this card in action.
Clearing all those pirates might just volcano you into concede on turn 5...
I want ot see someone with 7 Velen playing this :3
Add a wrathguard with that too.
Let the pain speak to me!
