A deck like mill rogue has never really seen a meta position (at least as far as I can remember) mostly because they are punished by fast decks that do take out wins by turn 6. I think it would be very unlikely for someone to play against a mill or fatigue deck more than once every 20 games or so. There are always decks that people will hate to play against, and I can agree that I really don't like playing against Mill decks, but the very low percentage of mill decks out there really means that it isn't much of a problem.
What I really can't stand in Hearthstone are the 'brainless' decks out there with low skill requirements to win games. Decks like pirate warrior, face hunter and aggro shaman. I think these are unpopular because people can't find respect for someone who just plays cards and hits face, or does simple and uncomplicated actions to win games. I personally have a lot more respect for a mill rogue than i do for a face hunter.
I do actually like the Jade Golem mechanic. But the fact that the single card Jade Idol can both remove skill-based concepts such as running out of fuel or playing around fatigue and hence remove skill based decks that rely on these factors, while also introducing more brainless stuff to the meta in the form of 'play jade idol and win' or the aggro decks that inevitably appear to punish Jade Druid, is why I would argue that Jade Idol is unhealthy for Hearthstone.
Jade also loses to rush decks, so if that makes mill fine it should make Jade fine as well. And in my experience jade druid isn't particularly common to face.
To me the epitome of a brainless deck is control, where one simply fills their deck with removal and drags the game out till they win somehow. The only real decision they make is when to wait for a board wipe spell vs individual kills. It's also a really long and frustrating way to lose, though at least mill gives one the illusion of having a chance. And aside playing around your Coldlight Oracle there really isn't much depth to mill rouge - longer games do not indicate more strategy.
Though much of the strategy in Hearthstone is in deck building and in what situations a particular card may be better. Ironically mill decks also remove the supposedly skill-based concept of running out of fuel by stuffing their deck and forcing opponents to run out first. Jade Idol actually has a decent amount of tactics to it if the enemy's plan isn't just stall the game forever since it requires one to make a judgement on whether they should invest in the future, or if they need that Golem now.
If anything Jade Druid seems to be one of the most complicated decks to play - if your opponent is doing anything what-so-ever to try to win before turn 10.
Sylvanus also seems like more of a problem so far as cards that shut down strategies go, since she is outright brutal against decks relying on big minions.
Well if my point is that aggro decks are boring and control decks are not, and your point is that control decks are boring and aggro decks are not, then I think we can agree to disagree and leave it at that.
This card is broken af, but I think we can all agree that Pirate Warrior is the real problem right now...
Sure as heck beats everyone playing control decks.
This card is so broken
stupid broken card. well played ben brode DansGame
It should be (2) and shuffle only 2 copies into your deck.
This is one of the uncounterable cards ingame, Somewhat like Dopplegangster but worse, soft removal of hard removal dosent work against this card, coming bak stronger than the one before. The only way to check it is by defeating the opponet quickly before its stats build up 2 dangerous levels, thus jade golem hits harder against control, tempo, etc. Sadly Face decks checks it the most,
which is also cancerProbs can be used in mill or countering fatigue decks ig, Coldlight Oracle increases chance of drawing this and increases production of golems, using 2 out of 3 generated idols 2 generate more
Still cancer and uncounterableAt first, I loved playing the deck. Wow, is it fun for the first time. But playing against it is frustrating, especially if you're just trying to have fun with new decks and cards and have no idea how to build anything good when the new cards are released. I feel like it's way too early to start making counters, as the deck is so degenerate to the game that you cannot really fight it fairly. I want to enjoy all of the sweet cards in the set and play with them and see them in their glory, but this deck negates that.
Here shouldn't be a card that stop fatigue by any way delaying it to NEVER. Jade druid mirror can be infinite. If someone once said taht CW mirror is ResidentSleeper now JUST THINK about JD mirror. Never seen such imbalanced card, even Mysterious Challenger wasn't that OP, even Dr. Boom, even Savannah Highmane - they were good, OP, but not that INSANE.
Actually, if fatigue won't kill you, the 10+/10+ jade golems will. However, this archetype is still a bit too strong. Maybe adding on the extra stats as a buff, so they'll be weak to silences? Maybe capping the golems at 7/7?
I have to disagree here. Jade Druid mirror isn't infinite, it's decided simply by who had better draws. The moment you can combo this + Gadgetzan or Fandral, that's GG for your opponent, the game is over.
Also in a side note, Savannah Highmane is not "good OP", that card is the symbol of the cancerous uninteractive gameplay of sticky aggro minions that Hunter is being forced to play since the beta.
Making them "buff-made" could be good idea. But main bad thing - possibility of infinite number.
Maybe each duplication can increase the duplicate's cost by 1, that stacks across duplications?
So I will say the following and add my results and advice:
1) Jade Idol is a broken card and will be nerfed. Truth is you DO NOT even need to play a Jade Golem themed deck to maximize this cards effectiveness. Can play massive healing and control with 2 copies of this card, and no other Jade synergies whatsoever. So for those who make the "Agro can stomp this deck argument", I believe that is a poor response.
2) I was playing control N'zoth Shaman with the new White Eyes card. I lost a few games as 7 out of my last 8 opponents were Druids abusing this card/deck/etc.
My solutions:
1) Big Game Hunter x2 - This did not work and was a failed attempt as the Golems were coming at me infinitely.
2) Devolve x 2. Thought I was being slick ...however...the Golems have mana costr equivalent to their Power/Hit Points. This was a mediocre solution and was ineffective for me
3) Thunder Bluff Valiant this card significantly added pressure on the board despite the fact that I have very little totem synergy within the deck. It kept up pressure long enough for me to win half my games vs this deck.
Hope this helps, best of luck
Jade Idol is by no means broken.Don't get me wrong, it is a VERY strong card, but it's sort of required if you want to play jade golem druid. Even if you have all of the other jade golem summoning cards, you'll only really summon around 6-8 of them. After playing a TON of games with a custom deck, the Jade Golem Druid is all about lasting until your deck is primarily jade idols. That can be a long time. Even if you start with a Jade Idol, you're going to duplicate it first. Jade Idols can be rushed down. Mages can bypass taunts with powerful damaging spells, and all classes have hard removal. I hade a rogue who held me up for 4 turns using only saps and vanishes to keep my 11/11s at bay.
If you really want to stop the progress of a druid, spam cheap taunts. After all, you'll be able to rule the board by the time the druid has enough time to summon a jade golem that is high enough stats to threaten you. Very rarely do my golems get beyond 10/10.
I think the problem - if there is one - is that the jade golem deck is very good against the control decks. I tried a reno and dragon priest against them, and it's tough to win. I know dragon priest is not a control deck, but the new cards are so powerful you'd think it would be good. The failed attempts of my Reno priest made my shiny new Raza and Kazakus feel a bit worthless - you probably need the mage freezes and burst. Dragon Priest has a better chance, but both decks are draw dependent and not very consistent vs jade golem decks. The slower you are, the more likely you will lose. So if you're dragon priest, you better hope you're curving out or you're in a world full of a trouble if you stumble at all. The larger golems negate the Book Wyrms and Dragonfire Potions too, creating a lot of dead cards. And Entombing a 1 mana card feels completely stupid.
At this point, you need cards to kill all tokens for 2 mana for a good counter to this.
