I think that, by Beast, they mean animals. And by that logic... being spiders part of the animal kingdom, both arachnids and insects count as beasts.
Yeah, I guess that makes sense. It still doesn't sit right with me somehow though :p
This card isn't really good. They have to get buffed immediately. Then can get taken out so easily and deal 1 damage a piece. Kinda crap
Defender of Argus and Flametongue Totem
Card synargises good with fire totems + sergants besides If another summoned spider will cost 2 or more mana then its also good to Evolute
Curve play, your argument is invalid. Pantry spider turn 3 argus turn 4.
1 mana too expensive from being the new cancer in zoo decks.
Which is a good thing...
I feel like this has too little of an impact to actually be used in midrange decks...Carrion Grub isn't that good in Hunter because it needs Beastmaster followup to be useful...this is pretty much the same thing but i feel like 2 small guys are even worse when playing against decks like zoo who have a bunch of 2-health minions which can trade more easily into this...
not sold, but might be wrong
Rating: Fair to Cancer
New Archetype: Most likely Beast Druid because that is where beast and token matter, also If it is good enough you put in midrange hunter, do you put this in face hunter, that stats are not aggressive enough probably
For the Meta: Midrange, Aggro, Token
Power Level: Fair to OP - In a vacuum it is fair. I could see this causing major headaches in a beast druid deck. Power of the Wild, or the buffs and the ever present threat of Savage Roar make me think I will regret that they printed this card unless I am playing beast Druid.
Theory Craft: Beast Druid, with aggressive cards like Raven, Y'Shaarj mark, Power of the Wild, maybe Abusive Sergeant, maybe more of a Egg Druid buff your tokens to crazy levels deck then what is being played now
Fun: Could be fun to play, has the potential to be cancer on ladder. Amped up Beast Duid, Aggro Shaman, Face Hunter, Secret Hunter, why do we have standard again, why can't you stop printing op aggro cards, what is wrong with you, did we do something to you, is this some kind of punishment....it is isn't it. You made really cool late game cards and we all played the aggro crap and now your punishing us like a kid who smokes a cigarette and gets forced to smoke an entire pack.
Token beast druid?
pretty nice for 3rd drop for hunter! now houndmaster got way better chances to impact on board on curve
PantrySpider reminds me of Ohmu from Nausicaa of the valley of the wind

I basically see this as being a better Carrion Grub. If you combine the two bodies, it has 1 health higher than the Grub, and because of the two bodies, and that 3 hp on two minions is very difficult to remove on turn 3/4, it will curve more reliably into Houndmaster, AND it can be used in beast Druid. AND ITS ADORABLE!
This is a very good point. It will need help from cards like Abusive Sergeant to see work when played off curve. It also has synergies with cards such as Call of the Wild as it gives two extra targets for Leokk, but none of these synergies work quite as well as Houndmaster, and most other cards can do the job but better. Still, I see some potential in this little guy.
Edit: I just read a comment that simply mentioned Defender of Argus which has great synergy with this card. Maybe that will be a thing seeing as it has synergies with other cards like Infested Wolf and Savannah Highmane
Ignoring how viable it is, is this the cutest card in Karazhan? Just look at its little face :D
Agreed, it's a pretty cute little bugger.
Wait I thought is cost 2 mana
Two 1/3s. Hm.
